I have set up navigation pane for my website www.adgov.co.uk but I am unable
to search the site using external sitemap creators. Therefore only one page
the Index page is being displayed. I have used Table of contents and this
works but is displayed on my index page for all to see.

Please help

How is the issue of using external sitemap creators related to FP?

Dear Thomas

I am using the external sitemap creators to check how search engine will
seach my website, at the moment it is only picking up the Index page. I note
fromn Frontpage Help that I have to have a table of contents on my Index page
but this is unsightly

Thanks

Dave

What you have to have is a link(s) from your home page that will allow search engine spiders to find
and index all pages within your site that you want indexed. You don't have to have a sitemap to do
that.

Dear Thomas

I am using the sitemap to verify the navigation of my website. I am
concerned that search engine spiders will not be able to ga any further than
my index page. Using a Table of Contents, all my pages are visable but
without is I can only see the index page.

The Table of Cotents which I add to my index page is visble to others is
there any way that I can make the file hidden?

Thanks

Dave

Then maybe you need to consider using a different navigation component/structure that is based on
plain text or image that can be followed easily by search engines spiders.
