    - Can I write a file on my PC? Using the form wizard, I've created a form that is emailed when the user clicks "submit". Works fine. I also need that data on my local PC. Can I somehow write the same data that is emailed, to a file on the PC that is running Internet Explorer 6? Not to the host web site.     - onchange not sufficient to handle changes in a frame I am using a pull down box and firing the onchange event to put some stuff in a frame "main". However, other objects can also update the same frame. I would like to be able to restore the image in the frame by re-selecting the item in the pull down list. This works fine as long as the item I select is not the on currently selected (but not necessarily shown) If I reselect the same item in the pull down list, as expected the "main" frame will not get restored since truely there is "no change" I tried adding "onkeyup" to the pulldown box. OK, presssing return on the same item will cause it to get redrawn and that causes the "main" frame to get re-selected. But who would know to press return. I could add a reset button, but it seems to be there should be some way to force a reselect. I looked at the methods associated with the pull down list and dont see anything obvious.     - not seeing onmouseout event on firefox This should be working both IE6 and IE77 fire onmouseout and onmouseover properly, but FF shows nothing.     - DVWP connection Fairly new to FP2003 & DVWP but here is a problem I have: Using WSS2.0 to show a list on a DVWP (page1)...I have a connected web part that opens a new page (page2)...that page has a 'header' & 'detail' section...the page1 web part is sending a value to the page2 header...which is only showing one record...the page2 header is providing the same value to the page2 detail...all works well when there is a valid page2 header...but when the page2 header has 'no items to show in this view' it lets the page2 detail section show the unfiltered records...any way to make the page2 detail show 'There are no items to show in this view' whenever the header shows that?     - Second Shopping Cart Question Just signed on and I see someone else has a shopping cart question but my situation is different....I manage several retail web sites that all have secure order forms people fill out with credit card info., we then process the order in the store and ship. We want to update the sites and add shopping carts but don't know which to use.     - Suggestions on shopping cart software At my first job we host websites of some of our IT clients (we are a small outsource IT company), webhosting is not our primary function, I have complete access to the servers (Windows 2003).     - published database I have a frontpage development directory containing:- 1. An Access 2000 database (in the fpdb subdirectory). 2. A number of hand coded javascript .asp files to read from and write to this database. I have published the development directory to a published directory (c:\inetpub\wwwroot). When a web user uses the .asp files to update the database, then (quite naturally) it is the published copy of the database that gets updated, not the development copy. This seems to imply that, once published, future updates to the database should be made to the published copy and not the local development copy. Q1). Have I understood this right? Q2). Is there anything to be gained in splitting the database into a front-end (containing queries) and a back-end (containing the tables) so that both development copy and published copy see the same dataset? When I tried to do this, it didn't work as the front-end tables were still linked to the development directory database, using the development directory pathname. I don't know what to put in the "Remote Web site location box." It says to type "http://<server>/Discussion" page 242. I'm using Verizon DSL for my server.     - ftp: illegal port command 500 LPRT not understood This error showed up on the OLD SITE shortly after I created a NEW SITE that used front page extensions. Somehow, my old project that is html only (FP2003) got corrupted with a new project that uses aspx and is being published with frontpage extensions under VS2005 googled http://tinyurl.com/y57chm Iis nice to know that I am not the only one with this problem. Finally got it to work correctly (??) but I disabled the ftp publishing service on the computer that I am doing the development on. Not sure how attempting to publish to a remote site gets confused with the ftp server on the local system???? During the publishing I was told that the remote server had a file and asked me if I wanted to delete the file. Unaccountably, all the files supposidly on the remote server were actually on the local development system and I was actually attempting to put them on the remote. I told it not to delete anything and it ended up putting those items on the remote system like I wanted. So if the destination system is a yahoo server, how is it that it asked me if I want to delete stuff from the remote server when I know it isnt there? Either something is not right, or my understanding of what is going on is lacking. I never had any problem until I set up IIS and started the local ftp publishing service. So how do I maintain different projects? One project is on yahoo and lacks fp extensions. The other project is on a local system here on the intranet and has fp extensions.     - User input question Hello, I run a small website for a local amusement park. I would like to offer a "dollar off" type of coupon to the site visitors. At the same time I would like to capture their email addresses for future offers. This is not an ecommerce site. I've looked at several of those type of programs and feel they are too robust for my needs. I've also looked at several PHP and CGI scripts and none seem to fit my needs either. Simply stated, the visitor would click on a jpeg type graphic that describes the offer, and be sent to a page to input their name and email address. A coupon would then be sent to their email inbox for later redemption at the amusement park. Capturing their email address for later offers is what has me stumped. I, of course would post all the necessary privacy disclosures etc. Any help or steering in the right direction would be appreciated. It worked perfectly in the earlier version of IE. I hope that this is merely a problem with my application and does not keep visitors with IE 7 from seeing the video.     - FrontPage web site spreadsheet I need to build a spreadsheet for general use in FrontPage. The sheet needs to have some locked columns with formulas for calculations to be applied to the interactive columns.     - Stop Frontpage from formatting Hyperlink When inserting a hyperlink via the insert hyperlink dialogue box, somehow frontpage converts the hyperlink and goes to a slightly different address from the inserted hyperlink. I am curious if it is possible to open a saved Outlook Meeting Announcement saved in the .oft format from within an ASP page and populate it with the list of names to invite.     - ASP Form Date Field returns as time I have an access database setup with the field set as Date/Time. When I store or update the data through the ASP Forms it returns on the form as a time format (HH:MM:SS AM) even through we stored MM/DD/YYYY. I have tried changing the database field to Short and Long dates, Tried adding an input mask, Recreating the fields both manually and using the wizard. When I view the caputed data from the ASP page it shows as MM/DD/YYYY until you click on the field within the table and it changes to a time format. If I manually enter the data into Access it will display correctly with the ASP Form but again changes if you update the record. The data entry field is a basic text box in frontpage. I have the SQL Statement to update the field which is displayed as CertDate=::CertDate:: with no quotes. Is there another way it should be written? What am I missing?     - Sending HTML with nested ASP variables in an email Hello Everyone, I have a series of asp pages that write/read informaiton to/from a Database about my Quality Documents. I'm trying to find a way to send the email notifications to our subscribers each time a new revision of a document is released. My code is below. Here is my question. Is there a way to send everything that is printed to the window in an email? If so, how do I set the HTMLBody of the message to the html code. Won't the nested "quotes" get things messed up? Should I write everything to a file and then email the file? If so, can you give me some pointers on that process? Right now, I just copy what appears on the page and slap it in an email. But it sure would be nice to avoid this step. I've been successful in sending emails for other applications I've written...but this one stumps me. Any help or pointers to helpful informaiton would be greatly appreciated!     - favicon prob on FP site I have a favicon on our website www.classicoccasions.net which is a frontpage site but it does not show in the address bar on IE7. Also have another site which is not a FP site and the icon shows.     - can publish to one subnet, not another I set up II services with FP extension on one XP system and from another computer on the same subnet I can publish just fine (using frontpage services) A login dialog box comes up, I get to enter in my username and password. On another subnet the username is grayed out and only the password box is shown. The default username is "systemname\guest" ie: the guest account. Googleing around were suggestions to disable "Use Simple File Sharing". Indeed, "Use Simple File Sharing" was checked so we unchecked it. Also saw a suggestion to simply disable the guest account. That didnt work. The was no request to reboot. Also, the system that is not working is actually running linux with VMWare. Remote desktop works fine on the VMWare system. When i open my front page folder it opens the version3.0 folder after which
it opens the bin folder.When i click on this bin folder it does not have
anyting in it at all it displays a blank. I have never used my Frontpage
before. Why is it empty?How can i get around the problem?

Have you installed FrontPage? The Program Files/FrontPage folder is
part of the operating system, not a program, and it usually is as you
found it.

FrontPAge, if installed, lives in
Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11 (for FrontPage 2003).

There should be an entry in the Programs list, usually under Microsoft
Office.

That file is not FrontPage. It is part of the Windows System files.
You need to purchase and install FrontPage.
