I recently purchased a SSL certificate for my site. Now, my contact form and
email list form do not work when I access my site using https; I get a Front
Page error. My site is secure, however, my server (Earthlink) does not have
a redirect set, so my site is accessed at http://www.notecardsbymer.com. I
would, however, like to have my "contact us" page secure but when I set up
the link to https://www.notecardsbymer.com/feedback.htm, the form will not
work. That's also true for the email list form on my index page. Also, one
other question, if I change my entire site to be accessed through https, will
that influence or change my search engine results which at this point are
high ranking? I hope I have made myself clear on questions. Thanks so much
for your help!!

You web host must apply the FP extensions to port 443 for your account, so that you can use FP forms
under SSL.

Thank you Thomas! Will most servers apply the FP extensions to port 443 or
not? I think I may have asked Earthlink a long time ago about this and they
said they would not do it. If that is the case, what are my alternatives?
Can I use another type of form format with FP 2003?

Also, do you know if my search results will change if I switch from http to
https? Earthlink said I'm on a shared server, if that makes any difference,
and that my IP address would not change. I'm not really sure what all that
means, so if you have any ideas, I sure would appreciate your expertise.
Thanks much...as always!

If the web host let you have the FP extensions and SSL, then they should be willing to configure the
FP extensions to use SSL. Your other options are to use a 3rd Party service where your SSL
transaction is completed on their server or write a custom server-side scripting application to
process your form via SSL, etc., finally you could switch web host.
