    - Customized Email response I am hoping someone has done this before... I have a list serve that I would like to make a web front end to for signing up. The list serve is configured to email the subscriber for email confirmation. I would like the form to ask for name, email. Take this information, and have Microsoft Front Page send the email to the list serve, in the following format: SUBSCRIBE my_list Joe Smoe (Note List Name from FP is my_list and name is Joe Smoe) Unfortunately, the problems I am seeing is that the list serve replies to the email it receives, namely the front page server (webmaster account) and the verify process can not occur. I think I can get around this by either having the form email an link to the person at the email address specified. The link could be to a page that directly submits the registration without any validation. How can I automatically send an email to a person at an address that they specify in a form? Can I customize this email with specific information (like a Dear Joe Smoe)? My goal is to avoid having people send emails that require exact syntax for signing up for the list serve.     - screen size I am quite new with Frontpage and have a question. On my home computer the site looks great. When I go to work and pull up my site it is too large for the screen and I have to scroll left and right to see the page. What am I doing wrong?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.     - uploading with Frontpage Hi, Up until a few days ago I could publish my website with Front Page without any problems at all. A few days ago I formatted my computer put everything back on and now when I try to publish it says "Your webserver does not support Microsoft Front Page Server Extensions, Upload cancelled". My webspace is with NTL and they have never supported Front Page server extensions, but before I formatted my computer the webpage would still publish, just returning a server extensions error if the page contained FrontPage server extensions. I've never used server extensions but I still want to use FrontPage to upload, any ideas??? I think it's probably a tick box somewhere that says "Do not upload if server extensions are not supported" or something like that.. but any help would be gratefully received, Kind Regards Huw.     - Where is the action? I have a frontpage form created in 2002, running 2002 exensions. This form was created based on the same template that all of my numerous other forms were based. The form is simple, the action for the form is hardcoded as confirm.asp. It works most of the time. However, on a few rare (but not rare enough for me to dismiss it), the form with a referenced confirm.asp action decides to try and make its action out to be a directory level above where it actually is. For example, the form at http://server.com/_clientname/global/default.htm when submitted will display http://server.com/_clientname/confirm.asp. Well, that's not where confirm.asp is. Like I said, it works most of the time, and with identical form data it can give varied results. I'm an asp programmer supporting my frontpage users on this, and I manually redid the html form and the asp page, and it still misbehaves. This leads me to beleive that it's a server extensions thing. We're running 2000 and 2002 extensions somehow (which I didn't even think was possible, but I can't seem to fix it) on IIS 5 on windows 2000 boxes running SP 4. I have a form with 7 textboxes and four boxes must be posted in the same field in a tabel in an Access database, and the rest of 3 textboxes are common to all the records that are posted.     - Uploading an Online Quiz to my Web site. Hey there!! I purchased a download that allows me to create an online quiz with multiple choice answers. The origin of the program is from a company in Italy. Unfortunately, they are on holiday leave until August 26th, which leaves me in the dog house as far as technical support is concerned. The program only offers me the option of publishing the "quiz" via "FTP". However, I do not use FTP protocol when maintaining my site. I go into Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 (FrontPage 2002 upgrade test version)and publish directly from there. Is there any genius out there that can tell me (describe a detailed procedure) how to upload the "quiz" I created in "SmartLite WebQuiz XP" http://www.smartlite.it/en2/products/webquiz/videotutorial s.asp into my site via Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 without using FTP protocol?     - Implementing web page margins I have FP 2002 and have not found a way to ensure that the web page margins are the same for whomever is attempting to print a page from my website. I am aware of how to set up my PC's print preview setting and use it to align the web page prior to a print job but this is not the core fix. I have been receiving reports by people that the right side of the page is not printing and therefore, would like to remedy this.     - Using Marquees The script in the marquees I created is backwards when I view it in the browser! I didn't change any of the properties other than the font colors.     - webbot include in FrontPage 2000 not working Instead of including the files, which I verified are there if get the syntax for the include file displayed. I've asked my IM support to verify all Frontpage components are properly installed and they say they are. Here is an example of what I see on the search page I'm using IE 5.5 SP2 installed.     - FP2002 URL of error page fp_rs.Update FP_DumpError strErrorUrl, "Cannot update the database" This appears to be the FP code that does the updage (actually insert) for my FP form. The insert works fine but if I enter the same data again, FP should detect a duplicate primary key and display the "URL of error page" but it does not. I am XP Pro, IIS 5.1 and Access 2002.     - Help making this page pretty =) Hi all, I'm working on a small html project and i would appreciate some suggestions on how to format this page to make it look nicer. I am new to html design but what i have is some heading info and two tables. I would appreciate any UI suggestions, thanks a bunch, oh and yes the data is faked so nobody will get upset =) My only constrains are that all the columns in the table line up on the decimal point (thus the same decimal precision right margin flushed) and the html report must fit on one page.     - forms good morning all... I am making a form for my company's website and I have a question. The form has a drop down menu with 107 choices (1 for each of our locations). Here is the trick, we would like to have the email sent out to someone different for each location. For Example - if a person wants to work at store number 40, the email would go to that store, or if they want to work at store 20 it goes there.     - FP 2000, Access 2000 & XP Pro Have installed, XP Pro IIS 5.1 Access 2000 FP 2000 Have created a server based web, imported a newly created database (and its connection) and tried creating a result page using FP's wizard. Initial results yielded column headings but no data. Investigated MS Knowledgebase and found a few related articles - i.e. 265323, 219159, 312638 - these solutions did not help. I used Windows Update and Office Update to update FP, Access and XP. After completing the updats, reviewing the result ASP page in the browser locked up the browser and FP without any results displayed. Repaired FP, same results. Unistalled and reinstalled IIS, FP and Access. Again, ended up with display of column headings but no data. When checking the connection status of the database under the DATABASE tab of the Web Settings, the database connection checks out OK. When I select MODIFY-OK, I get a question mark for the status. When I select VERIFY, the green check mark re-appears. Still, either I get column heads and no data, or the program freezes. For the last few years, I've been able to create the DB connection and results page flawlessly with FP2000 under Windows 98SE and PWS. What am I missing in XP? Thank you? Tag: forms Tag: 22340

    - Playing MIDI sounds on ALL pages I have been working on a webpage for the school I go to. I loaded in a MIDI to play when the Index page opens, but as soon as someone clicks on one of the bottons to go elseware on the site, the MIDI (of course) stops. When you click the back botton, it starts over. Can I set ip up so that all the links comming off the indax page open in a new window?     - search box problem I have successfully set up a search page that allows visitors to search a database. The problem is if a user inputs a search term such as "hat", results will appear. But if a user enters "hats" adding the "s", no records will be found.     - Error reading file FP2002 When I click on the HTML tab for my home page(index.html)I get the following error: Error reading file. Cannot open "wpe1.tmp": no such file or folder. HTML view works on all the other pages. Web has been published for 6+ months without any problems. I copied source code from index.html from web server. created new page, pasted to HTML view. Page worked OK. Can view HTML without error. Renamed old index.html and renamed newly created page to index.html. I get the same error so it isn't in the page HTML. I have several other websites. I can open index.html in them (HTML tab)without any problems so FP must be OK. Has anyone had this problem? Any ideas on how to fix?     - FrontPage 2002 Fails to Start I am running Win 98 SE and FrontPage 2002. I just started getting the message that Frontpage 2002 will not start, do you want to send an error report. Then the offer to start in safe mode, but that fails, then the offer to detect and fix problems, that completes but Frontpage 2002 still will not start.     - text box Java Link I would like to make an entry text box on the shared left border of my site that allows my customers to enter in a specific code I give them. When they enter in the 6 digit code, they immediately go to the specific page that I made for them. Only by submitting the code can they see the information on the page I made for them. How do I make this text box and this button that will link to the page that I made for a specific code?     - buffer on one side only of picture Is there a way to say "leave a buffer of x amount on the right side of a picture" rather than "Leave a horizontal buffer of x amount on both sides of a picture"? I end up wasting so much space if, for instance, I want a picture in the left corner but a buffer on the right of the picture. Can't figure out how to avoid space on the left side too in that case.     - FP 2000 DRW can I change the labels? Hello I'm hoping someone can help. I want to create a web directory. I am used to working with FrontPage 2000 and Access 2000. How do I make an AUTORUN CD which holds my disk-based web and starts automatically under Internet Explorer when the CD is inserted? I've created a file called AUTORUN.INF which contains OPEN=INTRODUCTION.HTM (plus the Icon name; the Icon seems to work). (1) When I insert the CD it blinks a little and quits. (2) When I double-click the CD icon in My Computer Windows XP complains that INTRODUCTION.HTM is not a legitimate application.     - Stalls during Insert Hyperlink Hi, FYI: FrontPage 2002 on a new Windows pc running XP. Recently I've started getting a FrontPage Not Responding message when I try to copy a url into the Insert Hyperlink box. It happens about 50% of the time. I get an hour-glass that won't go away. I need to either restart my computer or occasionally shut off my computer to be able to access FP again. It happens on three different computers using different copies of FrontPage 2002 software. Choose Page Options from the Tools menu, click the
Compatability tab, set al lteh drop-down lists to Custom,
and select all the check boxes.
