    - FrontPage 2002, MySQL and Linux Servers I am trying to create a web page in FrontPage 2002 that will access my MySQL database on a shared hosting environment (ValueWeb). I create the page on my client just fine, but when I publish the site, I get a message saying that my hosting provider does not support ASP and that my pages will therefore not work. My hosting provider has Linux servers and they support Chili!Soft ASP, but they do not support Microsoft ASP. I am quite sure there is still a way for me to use FrontPage 2002 to create websites that can access MySQL databases, send email from forms, etc., but I don't know how to do it on a non-Windows platform. ValueWeb tech support suggests using PHP instead of relying on the code generated by FrontPage in the ASP pages. Anyone here have any suggestions? Tag: ASP files won't open locally Tag: 39186

    - Link Bars based on Navigation fail to use Active Graphics Using FrontPage 2002, I created two new pages for my site: www.cbnosf.org While in Navigation view, I right clicked and added the new pages to the navigation structure. The vertical link bars are in a shared border. The added link bars contain an error box and fail to use the active graphics that work for the other link bars.     - link bar properties Using FP 2002. I had my web site set up with link bars on the bottom of most pages. They were working just fine. I am using FrontPage 2000 and have a well functioning sit (www.pinstripinguk.com) which has been operating perfectly for a year. I add new pages regularly yet this last week when I add paged to the navigation the content publishes fine and it looks great in preview but the titles do not appear I get the same graphic red X box as mentioned below and no one I know - knows what has caused this and how to fix it the site is using 17Mb and is hosts say there is not a problem at their end !!!     - Missing Data Hi, I am updating a web site for a client and am new to Frontpage. The files were originally created using Frontpage version 4. I am using Frontpage version 5. I am using FTP_Pro to download and upload the files. I am also running win XP. When I updated the file, (I was just changing an e-mail address), the new version of the file lost some of its content. The file dropped in size from 14K to 9K. Also the locations which contained pictures before only had a red x in the corner. I seems that the page had lost the link to where the pictures were located.     - How to post form to next page Page 1 has an input form field with action sending it to Page 2 Page 2 is a frameset with header and main page There is a database results in the Page 2 header frame that needs the Page 1 Form info to do its lookup. Sending to the frames page doesn't get it to the header page does it?     - Interactive Buttons not previewing correctly HELP Hi everyone, I am trying to set up an Intranet site and I am using FP2003. I am using the Interactive Buttons for navigation. I have set up the site using Dynamic Web Templates with Editable regions for easy editing. The problem is that on most of the computers in the office the site looks great when opening in IE6. Everything is formatted properly and the structure is the same for all pages. However, on some of the servers when I bring up the page in my IE6 browser the interactive buttons spread out across the page throwing the all the pages off. What can I do to fix this?     - turning FP homepage into "index.html" My service provider wants that extra l...index.html rather than index.htm. I tried to get FP to see things my way by changing the name in the "Web site" folder, but index.htm would not comply. After I closed the site (the C: drive version) I forced the ".html" renaming in Windows Explorer, and that worked.     - Newbie needs troubleshooting help. Our intranet is on a Windows NT4.0 Server with IIS 4.0 and all the latest service packs. Our clients are Windows XP with all the latest service packs. We have a basic page created in FrontPage 2000 that has several links to Excel spreadsheets. When the user selects the link it opens the Excel spreadsheet inside IE 6. Everything to this point works fine. When the user is finished making changes to the spreadsheet, the user selects File-.Save As and a prompt comes up asking for the username and password. The heading on the box that comes up says 'Connecting to MM5' MM5 being the Servername. We never had to enter a username and password before. What is weird about the whole thing is that the same user logged into a different pc will not get prompted for a user name and password. The problem shows up on random pc's but once it shows up you must enter the username and password of someone with full rights to the area where the .xls is located every time. I have tried clearing all of the cookies ,deleting all off line content and setting all of the IE security settings as low as they go. I have no idea where to go from here.     - PLEASE HELP - assistance needed for making expandible links I am working on a website for my office - stricly for internal inventory-type purposes. I have weekly Excel Spreadsheets which I incorporate to pages in FrontPage which are already set up to use. However, the 'index' page where these items can be clicked needs some work. Al of a sudden none of my ASP files will open locally
(http://localhost/xxx.asp). Since the IIS help is itself an ASP file I am
stymied. Does anyone have any ideas?

Won't open in a browser pointed at http://localhost/xxx.asp. I get the
message "Internal server error HTTP 500". HTML pages work fine so the
server is running.

Have you recently run IIS lockdown or changed permissions to prevent scripts from running?
- the 500 series errors usually are permissions related
