I am trying to add 3 bat files to my website and be able to download them. I
created a folder on the ftp site and placed the files in them. I then
created a hyperlink to the files. When I click on anyone of them I get The
page cannot be displayed instead of a file download dialog box. I can add a
pdf and it will open in the window but I just want the file download box to
appear. Any help would be appreciated. ~Rob

I would but that may be too hard for some people to then go and download a
program to unzip the files.

Only one of the bat files is for xp the other two are for 95/98, 2k/03
so I really need to know how to get a download box to popup and ask to
save or open.

You need a download box to open.
A bat file is considered an executable and can not be "opened" from a web page.

You need to zip the files.
If you're concerned about people not having WinZip on their machines, make it a self extracting zip
file with WinZip.

That doesn't do much for the Mac users, but then neither do bat files....
