anyone have any problesm with installing the product and
then having it crash all the time? I am trying to run FP
2002 with XP as the OS. I ran 2002 in an earlier install
on this computer without any problems using MS 2000
Professional.

Any ideas? Would a reinstall possibly help?

Thanks!

I am up to date on the OS, but I have not looked at FP
yet to see if there were any updates. Will check this
next.

Have you tried the usual repairs
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
5) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP & IE
6) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, and MS Office

Any success? I'm having the same problem. Upgraded to FP 2002 (and updated
to SP-2) on an XP-Pro OS (with all upgrades). Deleted the recommended
files. Uninstalled FP, reinstalled, still same problem. I get it regularly
with Insert | Web Component | Link Bars. When I add the links I want & hit
Finish FP crashes.

Ken

Ken,

I got a reply from MS and sent them more info. They
came back with a response.

Send me an email to donald.b.walker@us.ibm.com and I
will send (forward) you the response I got. I don't
think it will work for me because I already am using IE
6.0.

Ken and Don: Do either of you have a desktop theme type program installed
such as Windowblinds. I had same problems until I uninstalled Windowblinds,
then FP worked fine. Would crash on inserting any components, trying to do
save-as, etc.
