    - FP 2000 and Corrupted Files Hi, I just installed 4 new asp/html programs on my FrontPage 2000 site. The company that makes them insisted that they need to be FTPed, rather than imported through FP, so FP wouldn't "change the code". I do use FTP at times, and it doesn't cause any problems, so I did it. Everything was OK, and I was trying to get the correct permissions set on the folders. I hadn't opened anything in FP or Notepad (default for ASP pages), only in my browser. Suddenly, one of the four (interconnected) programs had broken images, some pages pointing to a messed-up url (so did the images), and one of the pages lost it's formatting (it's tables, it seems). I reinstalled the program, and eventually reinstalled them all. The other 3 were ok, until suddenly the very same things started happening on another of the programs. *After* it happened, I recalculated the hyperlinks. No change. I reinstalled the programs. No change. I recalculated again. Nothing. The company that makes the programs are trying to blame it on FrontPage, and it's re-writing of code. They have gone in, and say that the urls in html template pages have been changed. That could explain the bad urls, but not the lost formatting. Plus, I know FP can change code under certain conditions, but I've never heard of it changing a url! I am having my ISP check the FP extensions, although everything else seems to be working fine. I have another new little asp program. You enter your email address, choose an option button, and press submit. You go to a page that redirects you, based on which option you chose. What is happening is that you go to the redirect page, and stay there, and it is blank. You shouldn't see the redirect page, except maybe for a quick second. Could the 2 problems be inter-related?     - Database Wizard I am using FrontPage 2003, XP Pro with a Win 2000 Server. I want to attach a small db to a site I designed in FrontPage 2003. I'm sure once this is done I will need to connect that db to another, releated one. The first one is allow a visitor, once the transaction is complete, to leave comments about a particular transaction he/she made. The second one is to retain the comments by the visitor so that a prospective purchaser could look up all the comments left by any visitor who had been converted into a purchaser. The second one has not been started yet and can't be until the other one is running properly. After that, I'm sure my boss will want me to add links between the two. Does anyone have a suggestion(s) on where to get started? Does FP 2003 have built-in functionality or is this something that has to be "custom made"? Is there a piece of software, book or tutorial that vould take me from start to finish, or one to get me started? Finally, please give me a reasonable amount of actual man hours you think it would take someone with no experience to complete this project. My boss asked asked me that question and I am trying to give him an accurate estimate. I have a full-time job at this company but do small non-commercial Webs as a sideline.     - Borders getting changed to "none, default" Working with FrontPage 2002. I'm trying to add borders to a site that didn't use them. I set up top and bottom borders, and they look good. Then I used a text editor outside of FrontPage to walk the site and add the meta name "Microsoft Border" with content="tb, default" to every page in the site. However, when I open the pages in FrontPage, they are set back to "none, default". So I tried doing it the old fashioned way page by page, adding the meta name thru FrontPage's File->Properties->custom- >user variables. The page would display okay, but when I saved it, closed it, and reopened the page, it is again set back to "none, default". Any ideas how to get FrontPage to stop resetting this meta name? Thanks!     - ListView Sharepoint Bot This is my first time here so forgive me if I am posting in the wrong area. I would like to modify the ListView Bot. On the Sharepoint Home Page each of the various sections has a hyperlink to Add new "whaterver", Announcement, Event, etc... I want to remove that hyperlink. I know it can be done because I have seen other Sharepoint Team sites where it doesn't show. If I right click the ListView element and View Properties there are some things there that effect the menu bar but the choices are either a Summary, Full, or None menubar. I would like to use either summary toolbar but with the Add New "whatever" hyperlink removed. Could someone point me to a definitve source on this subject. I have been searching for several days and haven't found anything yet. So far I have found some general information but nothing as specific as I am needing. I appreciate any and all help.     - bookmark links in frontpage 2002 Let's say I have a website called www.mywebsite.com. In it, I have two folders called "info" and "data". Inside "info" is a page called infopage.htm. Insted "data" is a page called datapage.htm. I set a bookmark called "specialinfo" on infopage.htm. I know how to make a link on that SAME page jump to the "specialinfo" part of that page. But what if I want to make a link on datapage.htm jump right to the "specialinfo" section of infopage.htm? I can do it if I hardcode www.mywebsite.com/info/infopage.htm#specialinfo but I don't want to hardcode it because pages move. I want it to be done relatively with the ".." format.     - Data Access Page don't work - 60minute interanet kit Hi all, I've installed 60minuteIntranet Kit in a Win2000-IIS5 system. IIs seem go right but when I've created the Intranet website, all pages dap*.htm don't work. You know I'm testing this web in localhost, but if i try to log a dap page, IIS address my request to the Internet, as I'm connecting to an inexistent remote host. I don't know why.     - Default font How do I set the default font to Verdana for the whole page? I created loads of pages which appeared as verdana on Internet Explorer on my machine. When I used another machine to view on internet explorer, it appeared as times new roman. When I highlighted the text and chose verdana, it adds masses of code on all the cells of the page.     - Low res pictures - when do they load? I have some animated graphics that will be relatively slow to download. I understand under picture properties, you can specify a low res graphic which loads first.     - Hover buttons not working after XP Service Pack 2 I have used Hover Buttons in Frontpage on hundreds of pages on my site that I was about to launch. Now XP service pack 2 not only stops them changing to the alternate image when the mouse moves over them, they do not even display properly on Internet Explorer. I think it's because hover buttons use activeX in Frontpage. It is no use leaving a message for visitors to the site to enable activeX, since most will not understand and the user gets a security warning that will stop them wanting to do this. I used Hover Buttons as colour customised navigation buttons, which looked impressive (glow effects, alternate images). If I have to go backwards and simplify the site to basic buttons I can, but it will cost me 2-3 weeks reworking numerous pages. If I have to spend the time, I want to get the best results for my efforts. As alternatives to hover buttons, I considered using Interactive Buttons from Frontpage 2003, but again they don't change with mouseover due to XP SP2, although at least the button shows. I also tried to get alternate images by using the Dynamic HTML feature to swap image on mouseover. Again, with XP SP2 this doesn't work. I am using the buttons for navigation. Some purists hight say drop the buttons and have simple hyperlink text, but the buttons did look impressive and that is important on my site. How can I get changing images with mouseover with minimum time and effort? I am not advanced, and feel I need to stick with Frontpage 2003.     - Updating Date field wtih DBRW I have a field with a timestamp of original submission from a form. The DBRW results in error when trying to make edits to fields. I recall this has something to do with the field with the date. I have already changed the field name to something other than TimeStamp.     - Frontpage 2003 adding code I am new at FP 2003, but in FP 2000 when you added code (HTML) for things such as weather link or vendor link. You would go to insert /advanced/ html. Then a box would open where you pasted the code and it would work fine. I can not figure out how to do this in FP 2003. All I am getting on the page is the actual code.     - I'm having difficulty with outlined bullets I'm having a hard time getting my bulleted lists to come out in outline form. I did it once (by accident), can't remember what I did and the format isn't uniform...one major bullet will have a single space between it and the next outlined (further indented) bullet and the next major bullet has a double space between it and the outlined bullet below it.     - FrontPage XP web project; losing bots/theme in publishing to web Help!! I have created a web locally using FrontPage XP (Office XP SP3). The site works locally except for forms that require FrontPage Extensions on a web server. When I upload the site to the web server (running FP Extensions 2002) the navigation borders and nav controls are missing....the theme also was lost. This site is a 'test' site which will replace an existing site at the root of the website. The root site was created using the same steps as below but it worked AOK throughout. The only difference was I was at SP1 for Office XP...I installed SP3 to see if the problem would clear... Steps taken to create test site... 1-Created new web project on local disk and test content, theme, and navigation. (Not created as a sub-web of the original root web site but in a new web project folder.) 2-created a sub web below the root site using FP admin on server 3-published local site to server by right clicking highest order folder object in FrontPage client folder list and selecting the sub-web created by FP admin 4-tested site for content, nav and theme....no borders, nav, theme. The web components on the form work fine...creates the file in _private. 5-Since I needed to demo the site for others to review, I re-created the nav , borders & theme live on the sub-web and tested again ...AOK. I then published the test site back to a new empty web project folder locally and experienced the same result...no borders, nav or theme. 6-Installed Office XP SP3...re-did steps...same results Thanks! I have a basic understanding of how to do this, but the problem I'm having is how to tell the script to kick text to the next line.     - Database Connection-Simple Problem OK, I've got a lot of DB interfaces running. On this particular web, I am perplexed as I continue to be able to go through the DB wizard to produce DB results page in FP 2003, but then when displayed within the browser, I get the following error: Database Results Wizard Error [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] '(unknown)' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides. * I made sure my web has sessionstate enabled, and it does. * ASP is running * Global.asa is present and was created by FP2003 with a DSN-less connection to the fpdb directory and downloaded the MS test. * Did a sample Server.Mappath in ASP and it finds the DB OK. I tried to include the content from one html page into another with the Include command. When I preview the page in FrontPage I can see the included content. I have a web page that I have been working on for the
past several months. Recently I have been unable to sign
on to my page to update and publish. I am told that the
authentication code is wrong with no option to try and
correct it.

I guess my question is, if I need to start over, what
steps to I need to take to sign on and get to my web page
in order to update it and publish.

I appreciate any suggestions.
