    - Modify default HTML template Hi there, I dropped my web programming back in 2001 and as such haven't done much since then but I'm getting back into it know. As such, a lot has changed with xhtml, xml, asp, php etc... I'm going to start using Frontpage to organize my site layout and do hyperlink testing but here's my question. I don't like the default HTML that Frontpage creates when you make a new page.     - Can't open in MS Access database created by Frontpage 2003 I just upgraded from Frontpage 2002 to Frontpage 2003 today. Now, when I want to open Access databases created by the Form Wizard, it shows me an error "MS Access can't open this file. This file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site.     - Database Problems. Please Help! We have been trying to display our Access Database information on our Intranet, and enable users to search by different fields. We do not want anyone to update through the Intranet. The updating is done directly by one person into the Access file. Something seemingly easy has been a nightmare. This is what we have been trying: 1. Using Front Page's Database Results Wizard, we have had to first import our database into our Intranet web, and then we can see records, and search etc. However since this database is updated elsewhere, we can't keep reimporting the file to keep the info dynamic, and it will not open the imported Access file in its web location for editing. 2. Using Access's data access page feature, we have been able to get our records to show up on the Intranet and be connected to the underlying file. In addition we have been able to seal records from user editing, but the problem is that only search capabilities are a weak filter by selection that does not do wildcard searches (such as one word in a description field). 3. In our Access database we have a perfect setup of parameter queries so that the user inputs all or part of a reference and gets a nice report. When we get this into our web thru a data access page, the parameter form does come up, but after filling it in, records never show in the report. It seems we have come up against specific stumbling blocks. For instance, does anyone know how to set up a hyperlink on a page created in Front Page that would just bring up and transfer control to the Access file? Right now, "Quick View" gibberish comes up. Does anyone know how can I reference an Access database outside of the Intranet in a file such as global.asa? It only appears to recognize http:// and not network letters?     - How do I make my website look same on any resolution? I'm new at this... have created a nice looking website, but did it while my resolution was set at 1280X1024. I went live with it, and a co worker looked at it from home and found that the pictures overlapped, and my text boxes were everywhere... sure enough, in her resolution, it looked like crud.     - Frame - sizing I have a Frame page top banner, vertical left, and body. Across the top banner, I've sized it to fit on my screen. Is there a way to make it autofit onto anyone's display - so that they don't have to use scrollbars. I just want it to take up whatever space it needs.     - Linking to and changing the contents of a specific cell I have a table of 4 cells. I'm not sure if I did it correctly, but I gave each cell an id. For this paticular example, I'm using a cell id of "top2". This cell currently has a graphic (../2.jpg) within. This graphic has a hotspot link that links to another graphic file (../2b.jpg). With the way this is written, the link opens a new window. Can you tell me a way that I can have this graphic display in cell id "top2", keeping my other cells unchanged?     - adding hyperlinks, I REALLY NEED ASSISTANCE! I really need help!! I just started making additions to an already existing website. What I am trying to do is add hyperlinks to thumbnail images so that when you click on the thumbnail you will see a larger image. When I publish the hyperlink for the image it turns out fine for that hyperlink, but this larger image will also appear when I click on any other thumbnails.     - Locking Frames to keep a set of 4 images from getting pulled apart. Is there a way to lock frames at a certain pixel size so that regardless of the screen resolution the images within a set of frames will not be pulled apart? For example: This may be a little unorthodox, but I've got an image that I've split up into 4 separate images. I've placed the 4 images in separate frames in such a way that the images come together and appear as one image. I then have links within a certain frame that will change the image in either the same frame or a different frame. If the explorer window is fully maximized, then the set of 4 images do not come together.     - meta info problems Hi, I load fp 2002, load my web, then the index.htm file. I go to "properties" on the file menu, then to the "custom" tab as the help file in fp tells me. When I change the keywords, or add a "description" here, it doesn't show up after publishing. Also I went to a Search engine tool site and ran a free check on my site.     - custom ASP programming has clashed with Frontpage DRW pages with SQL INSERT and UPDATE In a nutshell, things that used to work on my site have stopped working and the error seems to have occurred since I called the msado15.dll file in a custom ASP file. A LITTLE MORE BACKGROUND INFO: I created an ASP site in MS Frontpage 2003 with an Access database to store and report on my departments training events, registrations and evaluations. The site worked pretty well, but I wanted to take some functionality to a higher level and found that I had exausted the capabilities of the Frontpage Database Results Wizard, so I stared to read about creating ASP pages in Beginning ASP 3.0 (WROX press). WHEN THE PROBLEM AROSE: I only have permission to make web sites at one web server, so I thought I would integrate some custom ASP pages with my exiting database and Frontpage generated ASP pages. In my experimenting, I used datastore.asp to connect to the database and also called the metadata type="typelib" File="C:\Program Files\...\msado15.dll". In the process of experimenting with the code, I made some great progress in learning to use ASP and hope to continue learning again soon. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM: After I was done with my custom ASP work, I needed to do some work on some other pages in my site and started to receive error messages on pages that used to work fine. Specifically on pages which have database results with Custom SQL statements containing UPDATE or INSERT queries. Here are two error messages: "Database Results Wizard Error Unable to find operator in query string.     - Server Extensions problems Due to the number of problems I am having, I must not have the Server Extensions installed correctly. We are running our own server so I have no help. How can I tell if server extensions installed? When I go to the server and use IIS and right click on my web, and choose properties, it has a tab for FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions and says Sharepoint Team Services are installed.     - FP2003 Database Result custom query setup I am trying to look up a record in an access database through the database results wizard. I have not been able to find out how to set up the custom query. Perhaps I have the syntax incorrect. I have tried to 'insert parameter ...' in the custom sql dialog box.     - Setting Screen Resolution to Publish at I have created a fair-sized structure for my Web Site, only the Home Page and a few other pages have content. I built the site using FrontPage 2000 (now have 2003 to install) on my Workstation computer which uses 2 monitors, both at 1024x768 resolutioion. I previewed site in Browser at 800x600 and it looked just fine. I published it to a test site. When I view it on my Workstation, it's great. But when I view it on a Network computer with 17" screen, the width of my pages are too wide for the monitor. How do I set it to publish at lower screen resolution. Or What do I have to do???     - Frontpage installer When I try to us the detect & repair option on frontpage 2002, I get an error message from the windows installer of "This patch package could not open. Verify that the patch package exists and you can access it, or contact the application vendor." I even inserted my FP 2002 cd and tried it's installer and got the same message.     - disappearing frames I have created a website with a header banner and a left column contents section for navigation, and a main page bit that contains the main substance. This format then remained the same even though the main substance page changes. However I made a few amendments last night and for some reason when I click on a link in the left contents / navigation frame the main page appears with the banner header or left contents / navigation section. I added a 'last updated' statement to the banner and a 'latest results' link to the contents/navigation frame. This has happened before and then sorted itself out.     - Installation of Service Pack 1 which includes FrontPage I have student and Teachers version 2002 of Office XP CDs which I bought about a year ago and went on the 'net' and asked for updates. It gave me SP-1 -- I downloaded this and then it started to install, and stopped asking for the CD. I put the CD in and tried to continue, and it prompted me that it could NOT find FrontPage installation package 'PROPLUS MS'. What do I do? I noticed on this MS website that there are updates for Office 2000, and Version 2003, but NOT Version 2002? Having Version 2002, do I need SP-1??? My media files are not accesssable in the FP2002 program.
I can't edit or add any components to the media player in
FP.As a matter of fact I recall there was a download
availabe to enable the player for use in the FP program.
Does anyone know what i need to do?
