asp page to enter/modify data
I have successfully used PF to show results of a query I
made in Access. But now I need to create an easy way to
enter new data into that access dbase.
I cannot seem to use Access to open the dbase on the
remote server so I figured I would create an asp page to
enter and modify new data.
I am not seeing how to do this with FP, and am not sure
where to start looking for how to figure this out.
Please advise on any ideas where I should start. If I can
get a starting point or a reference to a help file I would
appreciate it.
Warm regards to all,

Permission Granted to Access this Web Page
Currently developing a website and there are multiple
pages. However, there is one page in the site I only
wish to provide access to for certain individuals who
register. How can I make this one page accessible only
to those individuals providing unique passwords? The way
I invision this to happen is that they will register
online through a form. Once the form arrives at my email
address (Do you know a better way?), I will assign them a
password and email that back to them. Once they have
this password, they then can access this special web
page. If there is a better way than this, I would really
appreciate all the help I can get.

Adding Fields To database later..
I have built a web form that writes to a Access database
using the frontpage 2002 database connection wizard. Now I
would like to add an additional field with the same
database.
So I have a new field on the web form the form
titled 'Group'
I added Group to a column in the database...
how do I get the entry for the Group field on the webpage
to appear in the database without running througth the
whole wizard again and adding group?? (that is not an
option due to the size of the web form.) Tag: User Prompt to Open or Save File from Link Tag: 24703

An easy one. A one-line (I hope) vba macro to "Preview in Browser"
Folks,
I have several browsers installed in my machine so I can test my webpage for
compatibility. Every time I use the "Preview in Browser" choice under the
File menu, the next time I click on the "Preview in Browser" icon in my
toolbar, it will preview in the browser I selected when last used the
"Preview in Browser" choice using the File menu. In other words, when you
"Preview in Browser" using the File menu choice, you can choose the browser
in which you want to preview your page; while when you "Preview in Browser"
using the icon in your toolbar, you don't have a choice of browsers (it will
use the last one selected).
I would like to add custom icons to my toolbar to preview my page in
different browsers (one icon per browser). Does anybody knows what would be
the line in a vba macro that would produce the same result as the "Preview
in Browser" choice under the File menu in FrontPage 2002, specifying the
browser to be used?
Thanks to all who contribute to answer this question.

Download multiple files w/ one button?
Is it possible to have a user download multiple excel
files, from my FrontPage website to the user's desktop,
using a single hyperlink or single button?
I currently have the files individually linked for
download. However, having them available for a 'group
download' would be much more efficient for our users.

OT - MS News Server Problems
FYI
With the recent rash of Virus / Porn / Spam Posts, the MS News Servers are experiencing difficulty as these posts are being purged
and the multiple news servers are re-synchronized
If you are experiencing significant delays in seeing your posts / responses, or are seeing them apparently "removed from the server"
in OE, this is part of the re-sync problem, and they should be available if you reset the newsgroup and reload the messages in OE
Unfortunately, it is possible some messages may be lost and you will have to repost
Hopefully the problem will be cleared in the next few days when all servers are completely sync'd

Color palettes
I would like to develop a PowerPoint slide show using
graphics from a multi-media e-learning program. The
graphics use colors that are not in the standard Windows
256 color pallet. The PowerPoint file would be provided
to users as an attachment to an e-mail message. They
would save the file to their hard drive and run it from
there.
I think I have these options:
1. Ask users to set their computer color to 16 bit or 32
bit.
2. Don't worry about the color setting. If the computer
color is at 8 bit (256 color palette), then my graphics
will look grainy.
3. Ideally, I would place a customized color palette in
PowerPoint so that the slide show uses my 256 colors
rather than the default colors from Windows. My question
is: can I do this? Is there anyway I can cause
PowerPoint to use my color palette?
Thanks.

Fantasy football setup
Trying to set up a small fantasy football league online.
In the Picks table, I have a field called Game1 which is a
lookup field getting its data from a query. A sample
return of the query might let the user choose between New
England and Chicago with a third choice - Not Picked -
being a default item. So three available choices for the
Game1 field. Have tried this and it works fine.
I can get FrontPage/Access to display the existing pick
for Player 1 by querying the Picks table. But this only
shows the existing pick and does not allow the user to
change their pick to anything but that.
Essentially - How can I show the three available picks
while also having it default to the user's original pick?
And then, will I be able to update the database via FP (I
have only created append queries in the past - this would
be an update query). I assume this would require cutting
and pasting the SQL code?
Thanks much in advance.

Navigation Problems at Home Page
I am a new Frontpage user. I created our web site and
published it to our server. Everything seemed to be
working properly, and I could navigate the web using the
link bars from the home page.
However, two days ago, I noticed a serious performance
degredation when loading my web site from the WWeb.
Yesterday, when I loaded the web site, the home page came
up with all photos and text, but the navigation bars were
missing, and the "Home Page" designator in the header was
missing.
I've tried to republish several times with no success. I
notice that when I do publish, the icon designating the
Index (home) file in source folder is different from the
icons for the rest of the web pages, and there is a
description next to that file which says "Conflict".
There is also a "?" mark in front of the file.
Do you have any ideas which might help me get my web site
working properly again?
Thanks!
