    - Getting Username to write to different database I have created a database (tblUsers) that users can signup for the website & logon using their username and password. Now - I've created a quiz that writes to a database (quiz). What I want to do is get the Username (UID) that they're logged in as, to write to the quiz database. I'm able to see who I'm logged in at on the page and it is a secure asp page, but I'm not sure how to write that information to the database or where on the page to put it.     - help with centering!!!!! i created a website with frontpage 2003. all the webpages were created with layers that have ABSOLUTE positioning. they look fine on my screen, but when i go to a bigger monitor with the 1024 resolution all my pages are aligned left.     - Updating SQL Server database with FP03 Hi, I created a form using the DIW in FP03. First I created the connection using the site settings which was explained in a post. Then I chose the DIW. After the site is published I can see the Submission Form created and I can put data in the form, however, I can not get the form to update the database. I'm getting the following error. It looks like the problem stems from the fpdbnet.cs file. I'm clueless on how to fix this. The server running SQL Server is different than the server to which the uploading of the pages occurs. Not sure if that matters at all. The server that I am uploading to is a Sharepoint server. If someone can shed some light on this, I would grealty appreciate it. Thanks.     - Database Results I would like to access an Oracle database specified in my global.asa file as "pmm3" set-up and verified in Front Page 2002 (IIS 5, Win 2000 Server) without using the Databse Results Wizard.     - FP03 Windows 2003 Server Search I'm using FP03 to publish several small sites on some hosted servers. Until recently those servers were windows 2000. Now the provider has some new windows 2003 servers and we've had to migrate all the sites to the new servers. We published them using FP and most of the components, categories, etc work fine. However, our search components now say "FrontPage Search component" when you look at those pages in a browser. It's as though these servers don't have FP extensions on them, but they do, and like I said the other components work fine. Since I only have author and not administrator priveleges it's a pain to try to troubleshoot.     - Menu woes Can anyone help, as I am going round in circles! I am trying to develop a page with a menu on the left, with sub menus, so shopped around and bought JBots. After discovering JBots does not insert into shared borders, I used the JBots facility to insert into many pages. Great, except that when you scroll down a page, the menu goes with it! I then created the page with frames which was looking good until I realised that the sub menus when selected are hidden behind the main frame. Today I installed FP 2003 thinking that maybe DWT might work, but suspect that I will have the same problems.     - Getting error Ok. I have started to get this error. "Documents in this folder are not availible. The folder may have been moved or deleted, or network problems may be preventing a connection to the server." I disabled my FW and tried. same thing. I get this error when I click save as, or if I try to say go into a folder to use a image as background or something. When I updated two pages (with Frontpage 2000) on my website (www.neurodynamik.se) the theme I use (piechart) just disappeared. The theme folder is still there on the website but it doesn't show on any page.     - FrontPage 2003 GIF Animations How do I make FrontPage 2003 do the FTP of GIF animation files to remote webserver from disk-based website without changing the gif file to a jpeg file due to various factors such as color ranges, etc.? I have already tried changing default on FrontPage 2003 pictures to retain gif type regardless of color range, and this initially worked, but now something else seems to cause the same problem again after adding more gif animations. I do the upload and publishing of the gif animations, but the animations don't work at web server end since the file type seems to be converting anyway regardless of successful upload and publishing messages.     - VBA bug workaround? I'm not able to get around a bug in FrontPage 2003. I'm hoping someone can suggest a workaround. I learn that the value of .offsetHeight is 7309, but the value of nTbHeight is only 374. Even so, the code doesn't stop at the first test. For some reason, FrontPage thinks that 374 = 7309, but it correctly determines that 374 < 1000. I've tried: nTbHeight = .offsetHeight + 0 nTbHeight = .offsetHeight * 1 nTbHeight = INT(.offsetHeight) ...but nothing I can do will force FrontPage to assign the correct value to nTbHeight. I'm using the code to create and save roughly 80 pages, starting with a standard page that I'm using as a template. Roughly half of the saved pages have this problem.     - Unix, FP Photo Galleries & Subweb incompatability? Does anyone know of any known incompatabilities between a Unix server file structure and FP 2003 photo galleries? The problem I am having is that my host's Apache server uses the public_html file structure for subwebs, which does not allow subfolders under subwebs. I am a web designer hosting my non-profit customer's web pages free of charge on my own account using subwebs. My customers point their domain names at my subweb URL. The problem is that photos are not showing up and instead the red x is seen. In case you are wondering, I have Unix because I need each photo album to have its own permissions and a login for each visitor but we haven't even gotten that far yet. FP wants to produce "photogallery" folders under the root domain containing thumbnails, a javascript file and the various html files. This makes it impossible for me to track how much space is being used by each sub. When I move the photogallery123 folder files out of the FP-created folder and into their sub's folder as loose files (./public_html/subdomain/,) renaming each file according to the sub name, the gallery does not display properly on the web. Red x's show up instead. The albums display perfectly fine locally within FP using the preview tab. I tried moving the whole photogallery123 folder as a solution but this does not work because subwebs are not allowed to have subfolders. All files must be loose under the single root sub folder. By the way, I have not designated these subfolders as "webs" using the right click method to convert them. They are simply folders under the root domain's public_html system. All of the moving that I am doing is via click and drag so that FP can update the references. The major headache with this is that I have to rename every file by hand, one by one and then similarly move them and confirm each confirmation dialog box one by one to keep the references updated. With over 10,000 photos and over 100 albums to manage, I simply don't have time for this. I also don't have time for copying and pasting urls into aftermarket javascript code. There has to be a better way. Is the problem with this that I am trying to do this on a Unix Server? Will switching to a Windows Server make this any easier? I don't see how but I thought I would ask. I would like each photo album to have restricted access via logins for each visitor but that is just a dream at the moment. I would be happy if I could have even just one login for each album that each non-profit group can share among their own members. I found a knowledge base document #825451 titled subsites that references IIS Manager and Sharepoint Services but I am not familiar with these services.
