    - website publishe page When in website view while publishing I can see files in local web and remote web. Not sure how this is suppose to work (new to Frontpage 2003), but the local web usually shows all pages as "Unchanged" and remote site as "Unmatched". Is this normal? Would seem that it should show for ex. "changed" on local site and then "Changed" on remote site once it finishing publishing. Is this correct? Tag: Scripting aid Please Tag: 44288

    - Subwebs I have a site I built in Frontpage 2000. I am now publishing site in Frontpage 2003. While still in Frontpage 2000 I was getting a lot of time out problems while publishing. My host told me to create some subwebs and that would take care of it. I finally did that and everything worked fine. Then I upgraded to Frontpage 2003, and from day one had time outs again when publishing. I think part of the problem maybe from the subwebs.     - Shared Borders I have a website that was created in Frontpage 2000 and now publishing with Frontpage 2003. I had a FP 2000 theme and shared borders. I am now having trouble with that. I have trouble getting the navigation bar to change on all pages. A long time ago I had a discussion group on my site. The shared borders show that still. I even deleted the shared borders, theme and overlay folders and then picked a border and theme again. The discussion files were gone from the borders folder, but are now back.     - Database results When I include database results from an access database, the fields that I refer to have names with more than one word separated by a space. Instead of placing the field name in brackets, e.g., [field name], FrontPage generates it as ""field name"" This used to work on my old server (somehow it understood this conversion), but the new server can't recognize it, and creates an error. Right now I have to go to a text editor and manually change back to [field name]. Unfortunately, it is a major undertaking to change the underlying database field names, (I'm not even sure I can do it without incurring many errors).     - Error message when attempting to publish Hi everyone, I would be grateful for any assistance. When trying to publish updated pages using fp2002, in the right hand panel of the Publish Web dialog box (which normally shows the list of files on the server) there is just one file name which reads: "README: your files are not missing" Then when I try to publish a page there is an error message saying: "550 (NameOfPage).html Permission denied" Some pages need to be updated urgently so does anyone have any advice to help me?     - Problem using photo gallery When using the FP2002 application 'new photo gallery' I find that the user selected downloaded 'size' of a thumbnail (presented in the web page main frame) is very much larger than the 'main' frame size itself meaning the user has to scroll around the picture to be able to view it.     - Adding Video to FrontPage Hi, Thank you Jim for getting me started on converting my ripped DVD files. I was able to convert them to MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and AVI (with a separate WAV file). However, I am having difficulty finding a utility to convert any of those files to WMV without some sort of limitations - watermark, 50% conversion, etc. Can anybody recommend a good free utility? Also, how can I convert an AVI file whose audio is in a separate WAV? Is MPEG better anyway? BTW I mistyped in my previous post - I am using FP 2002. Just out of curiosity I tried adding the MPEG video to the web page, but it wouldn't work. No video showed up and I had to right click on the non-existent image to select "play" to hear the video.     - password for members-only section I was asked by my club to put a password on our members- only section. There needn't be a different password for everyone; just a word we all know (let's say "parrot") to validate against. I tried doing this with a form, but there were two problems: 1) it wants to send the data to a file or email. i don't want the data 2) even though I set it to be a password field, when the wrong password is put in, the validation message comes back saying "Please enter a value equal to "parrot" in the Password field". I have a web page that people can download a demo of a programme,the site was made with FP 2000.It is my first attempt and is way past due for an update,I'm also about to start on another site,unrelated to the first.There are a couple of things I want to add and haven't figured out how to do it.     - FP Keeps Publishing Same, Unchanged Files While at work I do some minor maintenenace on our site live on the server. When I get home I then publish down from the server to my home computer so I have a current copy of our site here. However, every time I publish down to my home computer FP provides me with a list of changed files and asks that I confirm that I want these changed files downloaded. The problem is, I didn't change any of those files. I might change my index.html page and then FP wants to publish an entire directory of images that were never accessed. If I repeat the publishing the exact same files are sent down again. Could background running software cause FP to believe that the files on my computer are not the same as what is on my host? It isn't trying to publish the entire site but it is always the same files that get sent down. Instead of a 30 second publishig it is 20 mins.     - Trouble uploading site using FP2002 - "32 Bit TCP/IP" error msg I am having trouble uploading my FP2002 site. I get an error messag that reads "32 Bit TCP/IP networking not installed or misconfigured... I have tried everything including turning off McAfee Security Center diabling my firewall. I read another post from August in which th user uninstalled Norton and was finally able to get it to work but i sounded like he had to reset the computer's date and time to a tim prior to the original installation of Norton. This makes no sense. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to solve it? I am abl to upload to the net using every other procedure and every progra except FP where my real site was painstakingly developed.     - Template to Shared Borders Is there anyone here who can, and wants to, take a template and divide it up into shared borders and get them to work right on my server (line up right with each other, use the style sheets, and replace the old shared borders)?     - Cell alignment question with different resolutions My 2 rows X 3 col table holds a button in each cell. When the web is viewed with 640 X 480, the cells are fairly close together, with just a little spacing between each cell. Most importantly, they are spaced evenly across the page. At 800 X 600 the cells are further apart, but not spaced evenly. At 1024 x 768 the cells are still further apart, AND they seemed to be spaced evenly. I've got a web page with frames. As long as I stay withing my own web site the frames work properly. ie indexes on the left displaying content in the middle pane.     - How to make text change when slide show pic changes Ok, here is how i have it setup. On my website I created a layer and put a picture inside of it. Next to the layer I wrote a discription of the image.     - Problems with buttons after Windows Service Pack 2 I have a very simple intranet page that has some hover buttons with hyper links on it. After installing Windows Service Pack 2, there are only little red X's where the buttons should be. If I click on the area where the button should be it does nothing. If I right click and select open it follows the hyperlink. If I right click and select save target as it allows me to save the file that the hyperlink points to.
