    - Frontpage tables and borders I have tables set up on several pages. I have some of them that I want to show a border and some that I don't. In Explorere my set up works fine.     - Upload File (photo) - Wants ID & Password ??? When I use the upload file element and while actually testing the web, when the form is submitted it asks for user ID and password in pop-up window (title of this window is same as website). I want to be able to have users upload photos...the submitted form never makes it anywhere of course...what's up with this ID/PW request? The form works fine without including upload files element. This happens whether or not files are actually attached to the element...just the presence of the upload file element makes the form unusable and results in the ID/PW window showing up.     - Website looks different on different computers.. Hello, I'm new to this webpage stuff and I just created a webpage for my daughter... I developed it using Frontpage 2003 and it looked wonderful.... Until I published it to my website.... I'm working on a widescreen 15in. monitor, and my husband has a 17 in. monitor.... When I check it on my webpage it looks different from when I see it in Frontpage and even more different from my husbands computer.... What could I do to solve this problem?     - Reposting my webpage question<<<< TIA I am not sure if I implemented everyone's suggestions. My problem is that I do not know HTML programming and all the suggestions have been in HTML talk. I only know to add a cell on the main page and stretch it out with the arrow key(s). I know, I'm new at this :) hahahha My goal was to make the page so no matter how high the resolution gets, the page is always either centered or all on the left. The way it is now, if you increase the resolution on the monitor, the page stretches out as far as the screen will allow it. I used cells and blank pictures to try and avoid any resizing. But the top border will stretch out regardless along with the rest of the page. I thought it would look better if I made it remain centered or all on the left no matter how high the viewers resolution is at. Any ideas for this problem? The other slight problem (not as important) is these cells are killing me. If I change font size by using ctrl/scroll on mouse while viewing the entire page (through IE and NOT the FrontPage viewer), the pictures will move a little. I figured I could avoid this by stretching out the cell(s) they are in, but when I do that, I put a space between the logo on the top left and the border on the left side of the screen. When I try to increase that, I accidently increase the other cells, then I go back and forth. Since I am getting mixed up on which cell is which, I can't even manually type in what I want. What a pain in the butt. I think I have the issue fixed though I'm not sure if I just put a bandaid on it or if my main page actually looks decent enough. If someone would like to view the main page and give me some input, I'd appreciate it. The other pages are not completeted yet. But I plan on using the main page as a template and placing everything I have in the page so only the inside information looks like it's changing while the border on the top and left hyperlinks all stay intact.     - Compatible Browsers This may be a dumb question, but I'm building a site with FrontPage 2003. The site looks fantastic when viewed with IE 6.0. However, when viewed with Netscape or Mozilla (sp?) the site looks awful. Also, when I run a "compatibility check" in FrontPage, I have over 100 errors... mostly related to MSIE 5.0.     - Children property I've got a table that contains other tables. I'm trying to use the Children property to reference the rows and then the cells of the parent table. I finally figured out how to make it work, but the sequence of statements makes no sense. If you understand how Children works, can you explain how to use it to iterate through the rows and cells of a table? Once the user fills out the form, I would like to send him/her an email with a file (a white paper) attached. This ensures that the email address that the user supplies is a real one.     - Running FP website on Win Server 2003 SP1 - IIS 6 I have develop a FP2003 website on WinXP Pro - IIS (working 100%) and published it to a Win Server 2003 SP1 IIS where the .asp and .aspx pages do not work... I suspect the path to these page files are too long because if I move those .asp and .aspx files to the root directory of the website it works fine.     - Cuts Off Left Side of "W" in Menus - More Bugs in FP 2003? If I use Arial 8pt font for my vertical menu in my theme, the derived files for the menus have the left part of the "W" cutoff. It looks fine in the design view. It falls apart when previewing in Internet Explorer, and doesn't look any better when published. Then I looked in the "derived" directory, and sure enough FP cut off the left part of the "W". It doesn't seem to do this with Times Roman. Is this another bug in Frontpage? Anyone have a work around, short of using a paint program to fix the cr*ppy lettering FP creates? Also, how does one manually referesh the derived files, when FP doesn't do it, even though you change the menus? Seems like another bug in Frontpage.     - Update for Upload Files Snafu What I meant in the original post was: The form/web publish fine with or without the file upload element. The error window shows up when I am accessing the website, filling out the form and try to submit the form as a reader might. The error happens with or without any actual photos having been uploaded...the form field itself is enough to cause the error. Of course, nothing gets submitted either.     - Keeps putting in target="main" I'm really hoping someone can help me with this. I'm at wit's end! I'm running FP2003 on Win-XP-Pro, and my site does *not* use frames as such. (A few pages use the Include iFrame that FP offers, but not on many pages that this problem occurs in.) On some hyperlinks (<a href=...>), as well as some anchor code (<a name=...>), FP insists on inserting target="main." I have never put this in on my own, nor have I ever used a target or even an anchor name called "main," so I have no idea where this is coming from. Besides being annoying, the bigger problem is that when you click on a link that has this, it creates a new window, which I don't want it to do. These are (so far) links to other pages within my site, not external links. If I delete this from the code directly, it keeps coming back. ??!! If I substitute something like target="_self" or "_top" it seems to stay put. But I don't relish going through some 180 web pages to change this, even using find-and-replace (which I've found to be buggy anyway). And I don't understand why it would put this into anchor code anyway, except maybe that it uses the same <a> code but for a different purpose. I have checked to see if a target default has been set in Page Properties or in the header code of the page -- nope. I even tried *setting* the default target frame in Properties to "_top" and it STILL came back to "main." This is like a bad horror movie! It comes back when I save it, unload the page, and then reload the page in FP. And of course, when I test it in a browser that's when I see that it produces a new window. And even if I was to go through all those pages and change the target specification, I'm not sure if I should be using "_self" or "_top" to link using the same window, since they seem to be more or less the same in a non-framed page. So two questions: 1. Why is FP doing this and how can I get it to stop?? 2. What's the difference between "_self" and "_top" and which should I be using if I have to replace the code?     - Database results Wizard with Search Field I am using FP2003 pages to update a SQL2000 DB. I used the DB Results Wizard to create a page displaying records adhering to certain criteria - these criteria is used as a search field - thus only displaying adhering records from the DB. This works fine with similar pages I have already setup but now I can not create any .asp result pages working with a search field. I get the following error message in the results area: "Database Results Wizard Error The operation failed. If this continues, please contact your server administrator." If I remove the search field all the records from the table I am accessing on the DB is displayed.     - FrontPage Is Okay, But... FrontPage is fine, for anyone who is just satisfied with the Web Development limitations. Maybe this is reason why the Microsoft does not use their own program, Frontpage, to create its own websites. Although this program is better than the NetObject's Fusion, I am exploring other applications such as Flash and Adobe GoLive and AfterEffects. Of course, it is going to take longer to self-learn these programs than MS Frontpage, but I am ready to be enlightened. That said, you can still accomplish QUITE a bit with the Frontpage alone and here is a site to prove it: http://www.urunique.tv. It turns out that the pages that generated the error had syntax problems with their HTML. Several pages had an extra </a> tag, and others had an extra </td> tag.     - Make Front Page XHTML Compatible i.e. <br /> tags allowed & DTD's FrontPage sorely needs better XHTML compatibility. I am an XHTML compliant coder and noticed that FP will not allow me to have tags like <br> and <img> include a closing slash such as <br /> or <img src="file.gif" /> at least this is something I cannot find. I have two domain names that redirect to the same web space, but to different folders. domain1.com goes to www.mysite.com/domain1 domain2.com goes to www.mysite.com/domain2 but the address bar show www.mysite.com/dom...... i would like it to show either domain1.com/.... or domain2.com/.... can this be done? so visitor does not see the www.mysite.com.... i have heard that having the explorer window not show the address bar is one way, but not what i need!     - Adding collapsable tree menu? I am reposting this message because the first post (about a week ago) was done on a borrowed computer whose date was way off. Not sure if anyone has seen it with a posting date of Jan-2000. Want to add a collapsable vertical tree menu to our html site. Need to be able to use our customized buttons instead of text for the parent nodes of the tree structure. Must also support frames navigation. Have found dozens of options from a Google search but nothing quite right. If I can use custome graphics for the parent nodes the program only seems to work with Dreamweaver. Tried using a simple unordered list with the list set to collapse but this doesn't seem to work with graphical buttons as the first element of the list. Any help or insights appriciated. I am using FP2003, and I have MSDE as my db. My wife accesses her recipes
and friends' contact info via db queries that I setup on the website (she has
a cheap notebook to access the webpage in the kitchen).

I am wanting to select specific records from my contact list and print them
to labels because we have a bunch of Christmas cards to put in the mail, so I
am trying to automate this process. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated...

FrontPage will not easily print address labels. I suggest you post
your question to a Word or Publisher newsgroup (assuming you have Word
or Publisher installed).
