now To whom it may concern,
Example: I opened a web site. I click on a linked pdf. The pdf opens. I
want to go back to the web site. I close the pdf. It does not go back to the
web site, but it closes that web site. If I use the back button, it does go
back to that web site. I would like for it to go back to the web site when I
close the pdf.
What is the programming or procedure I need for it to do to go back to the
web site when I close the pdf?
Thank you for your time.

The PDF would need to be programmed to open in a new window.

Tom,
I would like for it to just open the pdf with nothing else. The pdf is a
printable 8" x 10" flyer. I could email you the web site to show you what it
is doing.

Assuming that the user has a program (Acrobat Reader) that will open a
pdf file, a pdf on a website will always open in a browser window in
response to clicking a link to it, unless the link is right-clicked
and the pdf saved instead.
So your choices are:
1) Open in the same browser window as the page that links to it.
2) Set the link to open in a new window
3) Place the pdf in a zip file, so that it will always download. Then
the user has to unzip it to open it.

When you set the hyperlink properties to the pdf set the Target Frame for
New Window (_blank) this will open the pdf in a new browser window ... if
the viewer has Acrobat Reader.

Not sure what you mean by; "...with nothing else", but I think this is what
you mean and what Tom Pepper Willett was saying.
