For some reason I lost my top navigation. All I see is a
box with a smaller white box within it with a red X in it.
Even if I open my webpage in FP2000 (it looks Ok on the
net) it has the same thing. Also, If I open a saved file
of my webpage ( one I save weeks ago) its the same way.
For some reason it doesn't show the links.

If I click preview, the page that comes up and is the same
but when I select one of the blank links it takes me to
the page and the links show. If I click back to the page I
opened they are gone!!

HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

Bill.

Explain what is missing

I see your top nav bar (6 links under your banner)
And your left nav bar (8+ links)
- I did not allow the WEFT fonts download for security reasons
(IMHO no one should allow WEFTS)
- Page loads very slow from server even for DSL

When I open up FP2000 this is the problem. The top Nav bar
only shows boxes with a red X in them. It just started few
days ago.

Thanks

Try running a Tools Recalculate hyperlinks, removing your WEFT (if used in the nav bars), or Publishing the online to the local PC

Bill,
If you are using an outside source for your nav bar like
Xara etc. you will not see the nav bar except on the
preview screen or if you view it in the browser. I had
the very same problem but found that this was the only
way to see it. Also if you bring up another page in your
FP, you will see them there.

I now have the same problem as Bill.

I am using FP2003. I published the site and all looked good before the publish. The pages look fine in FP2003. The browser shows a different story. No Navigation bar OR header. I have deleted both and re-installed. Nothing.

The first view of the pages had the 'x' within the white graphic box. Upon a refresh, nothing at all.

Ideas?

Sorry about that.

Since my last post I have worked some of this issue through the server admin and Microsoft. Something is sour on the server side. The php code is not being read correctly, as Frontpage is modifying the navigation code.

Thanks for the reply, and I will advise if this fixes the problem. I will repost.

I have setup a page on the main site to demonstrate the navigation failure with the php script. ( http://www.iaff16.org/member_index.php ) Once the php is removed the page will resolve correctly with the top banner and the side navigation. I noticed in the Microsoft Article on this topic ( http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/preview.aspx?AssetID=HA011092991033 ) there are some php setting changes which may resolve the problem. I have implimented all of them except the one where it chages the default to "1" and changes the php code. Any ideas?

File/Server not found at http://www.iaff16.org/member_index.php

In FP are .php files set to edit w/ FP?

If this FP 2003 (for now) only .htm pages can be used as include pages (or shared borders)
