I want to password protect one directory in my FrontPage website and at the
same time use an access database containing user names and passwords to be
accesses by a login form which would allow the user to then proceed to the
protected part of the website.

I do not want to use the permissions that are built into FrontPage for
adding users ( the access database contains that info)

The website is on a Windows Server (Shared Hosting)

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Content-Type: text/plain;

Just write the necessary ASP yourself to handle this.

If you haven't found a solution yet, this article helped me in trying to do
the same thing: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;825498
