In FrontPage I am unable set a link to launch a .pdf or
Microsoft Project document in it's own application. The
documents open in their respective application (Acrobat
Reader and Microsoft Project)within the browser that is
being used rather than these applications opening up
separately from the browser. It works correctly for my
Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel documents. Is there a
setting that I am missing?

No.
PDF's and mp will always open in the application window
"inside" a browser window. This by design.
for people to get them to open in a separate "application"
windows they need to right click and save and then
double click the file.

At this time, the MIME settings allow for PDFs and MPPs to
be opened inside of the browser. To force them to download
I would compress them into a ZIP file
