    - Can't get my Flash audio to play in FP2002 I want to add an audio track ("Welcome. . .") to my site. I purchased an MP3 to SWF converter and created an output file of the MP3 of my comments. It created a SWF file of my audio, an XML file (playlist), a IE page for my player and the basic IE page called Index that I launch, click to view source, the copy and paste the HTML code into my FP2002 page where I want it to go. I make sure that all the files are in the page folder in FP where I want the audio to play (in this case the homepage, "Index"). Two things. First, the player doesn't show, but if I mouse over where it is supposed to be a thin-line box appears that would contain the player. If I click inside that box, it goes away and nothing happens. Any ideas why the player isn't showing up? Second, I bought the MP3 to SWF converter from a vendor in Europe (relevant only in that the time difference makes it tough for us to communicate quickly). He said I needed to make some small changes in the XML file (Playlist) and told me what they were. The problem is that if I try to open the XML file to edit it, I can't. I get this error message: The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Only one top level element is allowed in an XML document.     - Calculation reads "!Syntax Error" I am doing a calculation on a form (in a table). The calculation is simply adding the above for form fields. ("=sum(HealthMonthly+DentalMonthly+LifeMonthly+DisabilityMonthly) I have used the Tools menu to enter it, I have manually entered it with Ctrl+F9, etc. I still come up with either no output or an error message. First I was getting "Operator Missing" then I got "Syntax Error."     - Create an Announcement or Noticeboard on a Website Hello all, I'm fairly new to web design but have created a website for my local football team in Front Page 98 (please don't laugh too loudly!) It's OK and does what I want apart from have a feature for making club announcements (i.e. a noticeboard). I want to be able to post announcements so when members click onto the noticeboard link, they upload onto the screen for the viewer with the latest one at the top. I've seen features like this on band websites where they date the entry, announce who's written it and then write their blog but you can scroll down the page to all the previous entries. I already have a message board (which is supplied by a 3rd party free of charge) but I don't want ny noticeboard to be open for all to contribute; it should be just the webmaster (i.e. me) who can log in and upload the next entry. Does anyone have any idea how I can achieve this and if it's possible to do this in Front Page 98? I'd really appreciate the advice as I haven't been able to find anything over the last couple of months surfing around the web.     - Frontpage pics missing I have a web page created with Frontpage (by somebody else) where some pics are missing. Instead there is a red cross or a colored icon visible in the left upper corner of the pic area. I get the same problem on several other PC's, which normally show pictures.     - URGENT! DesignMode = "on" and Document Domain I need a solution to a problem that I couldn't resolve in the past two days! SCENARIO: Static "Page A" has an "iframe X" that is set to DesignMode = "on" to allow interactive editing. PROBLEM : If PageA.document.domain is set to a value different than the default value (suppose my host is www.mydomain.com and document.domain = 'mydomain.com') I can't access Page B (access denied). To solve this problem I load a temporary page in iframe X that sets document.domain = 'mydomain.com'. Then, I can access iframe X contents UNTIL I set DesignMode = on. Then, the iframe is inaccesible (access denied). Somehow, enabling designMode, is unsetting document.domain to allow cross-frame interaction. Thanks for you help! I've come to the conclusion that I should keep the Text size less then 12 so individuals can have the opportunity to increase the size on their Brower and still keep things in place.     - Frontpage appears differently. What and where do I look for the problem when two pc's side by side same operating system, with MS Explorer 6 looking at a web site. One it is perfect.     - Stoping DWT from erasing javascript functions From within Frontpage 2003, I wrote 2 javascripts in the header section of my page and everything works as expected when I test the page. However, after I apply a Dynamic Web Template (DWT) to that page, I get an "object required" error when testing. Debugging revealed that when the DWT was applied, it removed my 2 javascripts.     - Formatting Dataview Results I have written a data view for a Sharepoint site using FP2003 but all the currency fields are formatting as Â£11.110000000000000000000000 rather than Â£11.11.     - MSWord Window in browser Hello again. First off, I want to say thank you to all the MVP's. I have learned a lot since I started using this site. Thank you. But my question is - how do get a hyperlink to open in the program it was created in instead of a browser window. I have a page I am adding automated Word documents to as hyperlinks. I have them opening in a new window but it does not allow the user to use some MSWord functions. So I would like to open the window in MSWord (but keep the document protected). That's because hover buttons use Java Virtual Machine Applets, ( not to be confused with
JavaScript.)
It requires one click to activate the applet and then another click to launch the link.

JVM is no longer automatically installed, and requires users to download and install it
from Sun Java.

For this reason, nobody uses Hover buttons anymore.
