    - links in frames my pages have 2 frames in the header style. in the header is links to the other pages. so my home page has the actual page in the body and the links in the header frame. the link button "Home" is a different color to indicate where the user is. all of the pages are done in this style. i am trying, unsuccessfully, to have a link clicked and open one of the sub pages. when i do this the entire sub page is in the header frame of the home page. i want it to just open the sub page as is with its own header and body, and i don't want to see any of the home page anymore, just the sub page with its own header and body. i hope this didn't sound too confusing. thanks in advance...W Tag: Horizontal Line Tag: 27723

    - link on a grouped object i have auto shapes which i am using as a links to other pages. when adding text to them, half of the text was cut off at the bottom, so i decided to make a 100% transparent text box directly over top of the autoshape. seems to work fine, and looks great. if i want to create the link, it underlines the text (ugly), and if i use the shape as the link, the "link pointer" only changes when not hovering over the text box. the same applies when the objects are grouped. i would like to have a nice link like i did create, but i would like it to have the pointer when hovering over top of the whole object, preferably grouped. or have my added text on the object not be cut off at the bottom. its only that it centers the text on the auto shape. i gues a way around it would be to ask if there was a way to have the added text on an object to be aligned at the top of it. any suggestions would be much appreciated. Make Money Fast A little while back, I was browsing these newsgroups, just like you are now, and came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands of dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00! So I thought," Yeah, right, this must be a scam", but like most of us, but I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that you send $1.00 to each of the 6 names and address stated in the article. You then place your own name and address in the bottom of the list at #6, and post the article in at least 200 newsgroups. (There are thousands) No catch, that was it. The main difference between this system and others is that you have a mailing list of 6 instead of 5... This means that your average gain will be app. 15 times higher!!! So after thinking it over, and talking to a few people first, I thought about trying it. I figured what have I got to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00, right? Like most of us I was a little skeptical and a little worried about the legal aspects of it all. So I checked it out with the U.S. Post Office (1- 800-725-2161) and they confirmed that it is indeed legal! Then I invested the measly $6.00.............plus postage Well GUESS WHAT!!... within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I still figured it would end soon, and didn't give it another thought. But the money just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about $20.00 to $30.00 dollars. By the end of the second week I had made a total of over $1,000.00!!!!!! In the third week I had over $10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it's still coming in rapidly....... It's certainly worth $6.00, and 6 stamps, I spent more than that on the lottery!! Let me tell you how this works and most importantly, why it works.... also, make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you can get the information off of it as you need it. The process is very simple and consists of 3 easy steps: STEP 1: Get 6 separate pieces of paper and write the following on each piece of paper "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST." Then change numbers and add your name as #6) STEP 3: Change anything you need to, but try to keep this article as close to original as possible. Now, post your amended article to at least 200 newsgroups. (I think there is close to 24,000 groups) All you need is 200, but remember, the more you post, the more money you make! Don't know HOW to post in the newsgroups? Well do exactly the following: THAT'S IT! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away, after you get the hang of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup! **REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200** That's it! You will begin receiving money from around the world within day's! You may eventually want to rent a P.O. Box due to the large amount of mail you receive. If you wish to stay anonymous, you can invent a name to use, as long as the postman will deliver it. **JUST MAKE SURE ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT.** Now the WHY part: Out of 200 postings, say I receive only 5 replies (a very low example). So then I made $5.00 with my name at #6 on the letter. Now, each of the 5 persons who just sent me $1.00 make the MINIMUM 200 postings, each with my name at #5 and only 5 persons respond to each of the original 5,that is another $25.00 for me, now those 25 each make 200 MINIMUM posts with my name at #4 and only 5 replies each, I will bring in an additional $125.00! Now, those 125 persons turn around and post the MINIMUM 200 with my name at #3 and only receive 5 replies each, I will make an additional $626.00! OK, now here is the fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with my name at #2 and they each only receive 5 replies, that just made me $3,125.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will all deliver this message to 200 newsgroups with my name at #1 and if still 5 persons per 200 newsgroups react I will receive $15,625,00! With an original investment of only $6.00! AMAZING! And as I said 5 responses is actually VERY LOW! Average is probable 20 to 30! So lets put those figures at just 15 responses per person. Here is what you will make: at #6 $15.00 at #5 $225.00 at #4 $3,375.00 at #3 $50,625.00 at #2 $759,375.00 at #1 $11,390,625.00 When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the latest posting in the newsgroups, and send out another $6.00 to names on the list, putting your name at number 6 again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is, do you realize that thousands of people all over the world are joining the internet and reading these articles everyday, JUST LIKE YOU are now!! So can you afford $6.00 and see if it really works?? I think so... People have said, "what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the money? So what! What are the chances of that happening when there are tons of new honest users and new honest people who are joining the internet and newsgroups everyday and are willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new users, everyday, with thousands of those joining the actual internet. Remember, play FAIRLY and HONESTLY and this will work. You just have to be honest. Make sure you print this article out RIGHT NOW, also. Try to keep a list of everyone that sends you money and always keep an eye on the newsgroups to make sure everyone is playing fairly. Remember, HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. You don't need to cheat the basic idea to make the money!!     - Form that post data to WSS list? Hi, I wish to make a form that submits it's data to a WSS list. Also I need to set the permissions so that people with Reader permissions can ONLY add items to the list. Specifically I want to create a Service Request form that anyone can fill out and submit to a Tasks or Issues list but they can not view the lists contents. It would be OK if they could only see their own items. Additionally, when items are added to list I want an Alert sent to people who have subscribed to the list. Things that I have tried: 1. Create a Task list, Change permissions for the list so that Readers can View, insert, edit, delete items. Modify Item-level Permissions so that Read access: Only their own and Edit access: Only their own. Everything works OK except people with full access to the list can not setup Alerts. 2. Create an Issue list, and attempt to set the permissions as above, but the Issue list does not seem to let you Modify Item-level permissions.     - Update #810217 stops .rm file publish My FrontPage 2000 stops with an error when I try to publish my web after I installed update #810217. The error says; An error occurred accessing your FrontPage web files. Authors - if authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for this server's site. Webmasters - please see the server's system log for more details. I imported the web and started publishing it folder by folder and the audio folder with .rm (RealMedia files) causes it to error out. It also empties other folders in my web like the image folder. From my reading of the KB article, this update is for a server running FrontPage extensions. I use FP extensions on my ISP's server.     - Set Page breaks for printing I am sending user input from a forms page to a confirmation page with the input placed in a table(for display formatting reasons) on the confirmation page. Some of the inputs are text fields which are variable in length, so the resulting table row on the confirmation page may be 1 line or it may be 10 lines.     - Import macro Hi, We have a macro in Frontpage 2000 which all our Frontpage users should be able to use. Now we are preparing to upgrade to Frontpage 2003. We tested the macro and it still works. To prevent importing the macro on all the systems after the installation of Frontpage I was wondering if it would be possible to import the macro and it's form with a script right after the installation of Frontpage completes.     - extra paragraph breaks in word include page I included a word document in a front page page. When the page is viewed through the FP page it has before and after spacing added to each paragraph. When I open the word-html page, it looks fine. The source is even identicle, so I know FP isn't adding any extra <p>s or anything. It must be a style issue, when I take out my own style sheet, it looks ugly, but still has the para spacing issue. Front page must be adding style info somewhere and I can't find it. Now when I open my web site's index.htm page using "open as html" all unique form names in my onload statements change to a single name. Since I am hooked on a router and home network I am sure thats why the main is there. When I try to save I get "you cannot create a root Web at http://main. If there is a server at that location , you may create a subweb by specifying a location such as http://main/myweb. When I add the myweb to the end I get "could not find a web server at main on port 80. Please check to make sure that the web server name is valid and your proxy settings are set correctly.     - Include webbot and V6 meta tag I inherited a site that uses webbot includes. They worked fine until I upgraded to FrontPage 2003 now they simply don't. No change to the server. As I experimented, I discovered that if I remove the meta tag: <meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 6.0"> the page will suddenly recognize the webbot. Anyone know if this is a documented change? Or know of anyway to disaple the automatic insertion of the meta tag?     - FrontPage 2002 Database interface wizard I made the interface pages with teh help of FrontPage 2002 Database Inteface Wizard. The result page is cool, Submission is also cool, but teh Editor is not allow me to do any changes in the contents, I lost the previlage of clicking any data to be edit.     - publish won't work with disk I edited my web with some updates, uploaded it to my server, checked it online and all was fine. I then attempted to publish my web to my hard drive for a backup and also to my other computer and get this message; An error occured accessing your FrontPage web files. Authors - if authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for the server's site. Webmasters - please see the server's system log for more details.     - Expedia Maps (ATT'N: MS Personnel) The Static Map doesn't seem to be working properly, and as I remember, hasn't for a long time. The Map Link does seem to be working correctly. After I add a Map, using FP 2002, I get a blank box with a red x. If I click inside the blank box with the red x, the link will take me to Expedia's site where the Map will open correctly. However, when I click the Back Button and arrive back on my original page I see the same blank box with the red x. If I then take the additional step of clicking the Refresh Button on IE 6.0 the Map will open up. The exact same scenario takes place using NN 7.1 with one exception. After clicking the Back Button on NN the Map is open when I arrive back on my original page. The fact that Microsoft has sold Expedia should have absolutely no bearing on whether this functionality works correctly with FP 2002 or 2003. Microsoft has a responsibility to all it's customers to make sure that any represented functionality in one of it's products works as promised. After it has been reported as not working correctly they have the option to fix it, replace it with something from another vendor, replace it with something of their own design or remove it from the program.     - Page Design Not Publishing I created an intranet site with FrontPage 2002 and published it to my IIS Server with FP2002 Extensions. It looked exactly like it did in FP. Several months later that server crashed and had to have IIS reloaded. The Extensions were also reloaded. Now when I try to publish my intranet site it looks nothing like it does in FP. Hi there
I have noticed that when I insert a HR in a page in f/p
2003, the line and whatever color I made it appears as
intended in IE, but in Netscape in appears as a dark line
and changing the color has no effect.
Any ideas as to why I cannot get a HR to appear the same
in both browsers. F/P is set for compatibilty

The color attribute of the <hr> tag is not supported by Netscape. You may
want to create your own image instead.
