    - Will this ever work??? The themes disappeared and there was no backup so the menus disappeared. So I went and copied all the files to my computer and am trying to republish the thing over from the files off my conputer to try and restore the website the way it is supposed to be and it keeps telling me i can't publish to the open site.     - Window Media - Embedded video I have a link to .wmv file on a page in my site where the link directly opens a video about the organization. The video was viewing inside IE along with pop-up that the organization doesn't want. I took the suggestion of one of the groups subscribers and using the WMP addin built a new page with the video in it.     - Front page webbot modification I need to change the gif files FP uses for the photogallery slide show navigation. File names are: prev.gif, prevdis.gif, next.gif, and nextdis.gif. If I resize them on the Real.htm, Realp.htm pages, somewhere they get overwritten when the actual slide show is views.     - How to open HTML files composed by Word 2003? Hi: I am experimenting an email newsletter with FP 2003, Word 2003, and using Outlook 2003 for email client. I found out that HTML files composed by Word 2003 (with HTML extension) can only opened by Word 2003, that is even you tried to open it with FP 2003, Word 2003 would jump out to open it, and it is also true for vice versa, and that is HTML files composed by FP 2003 with be opened by FP 2003 only. Is there a way that I can just use any client to open it since the two both support HTML files, instead of using the original one? I am trying to use FP 2003 to do the template and using Word 2003 to edit it a bit but more importantly to use the mail merger function to distribute the email newsletter. Many thanks in advance.     - it disappeared? I am helping out afirend who had a website with a menu on the side, she lost her password to get in and so the isp reset it, now the menu is missing and so are the themes. Did anyone ever hear of this and how do we get it back. I went in the files and no menu exits it's gone all the pages have the theme removed and the menu is gone and I even checked the hidden files.... it's vanished....     - Windows Media I have a link to .wmv file on a page in my site where the link opens a video about the organization.     - FrontPage 2002 - Password? I have created a website and have published it without any problems...well almost without any problems!!! Part of my document has a hyperlink pointing towards a Word document. When the hyperlink is slected it gives you the choice of 'open', 'save' or 'Cancel'. If 'open' is selected the document becomes visable but when you have finished reading it and want to go back to the website (using the back button on the toolbar) the password / username screen appears...the same one i see when i publish my site each time. I have made 'design view' the editor by default for teh extension but I can't see any design eleentsin that view. The image isn't popping up.     - Site can't be viewed in other browsers The site that I just built (www.cwgr.org) looks fine in IE, Netscape AOL and Macintosh platforms, but it doesn't appear properly i alternative browsers such as Mozilla Firebird.     - Loop insert ?? I'm just starting to learn HTML and have access to Frontpage 2003. My objective is to make a web site that will have a block of pix and description of the item in the pix. If I design a page to hold say a block of 10 pix and attendant descriptions and I have only 6 items can I write a loop so that only 6 show and the other 4 empty slots not shown.     - discussion group comments Using FP 2003 I have put a discussion group on an existing web using the Discussion wizard. I then linked each of the discussion forms (Post, search, etc) to my home page and set a hotlink from home to the post form- these work OK. But When comments are entered they dont show in the contents frame- but searching on a word will find them- and next/previous steps thru the list as it should. (abs position won't work) How can I have a Banner (using an include) positioned a few pixels from the top of a web page? I read that you can't use an include if it uses absolute positioning because the renderer doesn't know how big the include will be within a div. This is true for my hosting at ipowerweb. Is there another way to get the banner at the top of the page using an include? Can I maybe set the body top padding and top margin to 1 px? Since Includes are the fastest way to load my 12 pages that look similar (I think). I plan on using 4 includes.     - Multiple sets of checkboxes - totals Hi: I have 1 set (d1) of checkboxes, plus a total box that I will eventually make "hidden". I now need 5 more sets of these. I have tried copy and paste of everything within <form> and renaming it to d2..d6 including the box names box1...box5 and total0 to toal1..total5. I then copy and pasted the scripts 5 times renaming all the box names, list names, etc and it does not work. I got this code here at frontpage.programming awhile ago and I am unable to modify it for my needs. I need 6 separate checkbox sets and totals so that when I send the data via cgi to my email, it gives me the total of the individual sets, making later processing within outlook and access a snap.     - How to handle NULL fields resulting from a user entering no data? I have an input form with 40 fields where I can't expect the user to enter something in all of them. When searching this database I get problems with the NULL values. I got help in this forum and wrote an SQL statement like this: "SELECT * FROM Results WHERE ((user_name LIKE '%::user_name::%' OR user_name IS NULL) AND..." It does work, but returns all records with NULL in a field even if I search for a specific word. If I don't have the "OR user_name IS NULL" I get nothing if only one of the 40 fields is NULL and I don't enter a search word that exists in that particular field, which is very usaul. So, without the "OR..." I get no records at all. All fields in the search form are set to "%". What I want to achieve is that the "%" should treat all entries, including NULL, the same way. How do I best handle this?: 1. Could I use javascript to check all form fields before submitting the data and replace any NULL with e.g. "-"? How would that script look like?     - Frontpage 2003 Guestbook I have just taken over a site that has used a Frontpage 2003 Guestbook. The problem that I have is that it only works in Internet Explorer.     - IIS5 and IIS6 Coding Differences We use IIS5 to devlop ASP web pages. This was fine until our primary web hosting company moved to IIS6. Main problem I get is:-  Works fine on IIS5 but fails on 6. 6 seems to only operate with this.  It's a real pain changing code before publishing.     - A note about working with include pages <fwiw> Most people probably already know this, but for those who don't: When working on / designing an include page, especially one that relies on CSS, make *sure* you declare the same doctype in it as you're using for the pages you are going to "include" it in.     - Front Page link bar looks different at top 5 of 8 identical web s. My link bar has colored boxes on all but one of my web pages. The different one works fine ( linking to other pages when clicked ) but appears as plain type with no collored box. Navigation view shows all pages as identical boxes. you can surround the area where the db results component is with something
like this:
<div style="display:none;"> </div>
that way, whatever gets written into the area will neither show up nor take
up space.
