I apparently hit a control key command in error.
I now have all these formation <marks> through out the page in normal view.
How do I get back to a normal view without all these disturbing formatting
<marks> appearing?

I'm sure it's just another control key command, but I do not know it.

Thanks for any help,

Bill

Ctrl + / should turn it off. It's the View | Reveal Tags function.
