    - unable to set hyperlink or Save As I am using Frontpage 2002 in XP Professional system. When I either 1.select a text and right click to select hyperlink 2.perform save as I will get a error box: documents in this folder are not available. The folder may have been moved or deleted, or network problems may be preventing a connection to this servers. Can you tell me what is my problem?     - Unix, FP Photo Galleries & Subweb incompatability? Does anyone know of any known incompatabilities between a Unix server file structure and FP 2003 photo galleries? The problem I am having is that my host's Apache server uses the public_html file structure for subwebs, which does not allow subfolders under subwebs. I am a web designer hosting my non-profit customer's web pages free of charge on my own account using subwebs. My customers point their domain names at my subweb URL. The problem is that photos are not showing up and instead the red x is seen. In case you are wondering, I have Unix because I need each photo album to have its own permissions and a login for each visitor but we haven't even gotten that far yet. FP wants to produce "photogallery" folders under the root domain containing thumbnails, a javascript file and the various html files. This makes it impossible for me to track how much space is being used by each sub. When I move the photogallery123 folder files out of the FP-created folder and into their sub's folder as loose files (./public_html/subdomain/,) renaming each file according to the sub name, the gallery does not display properly on the web. Red x's show up instead. The albums display perfectly fine locally within FP using the preview tab. I tried moving the whole photogallery123 folder as a solution but this does not work because subwebs are not allowed to have subfolders. All files must be loose under the single root sub folder. By the way, I have not designated these subfolders as "webs" using the right click method to convert them. They are simply folders under the root domain's public_html system. All of the moving that I am doing is via click and drag so that FP can update the references. The major headache with this is that I have to rename every file by hand, one by one and then similarly move them and confirm each confirmation dialog box one by one to keep the references updated. With over 10,000 photos and over 100 albums to manage, I simply don't have time for this. I also don't have time for copying and pasting urls into aftermarket javascript code. There has to be a better way. Is the problem with this that I am trying to do this on a Unix Server? Will switching to a Windows Server make this any easier? I don't see how but I thought I would ask. I would like each photo album to have restricted access via logins for each visitor but that is just a dream at the moment. I would be happy if I could have even just one login for each album that each non-profit group can share among their own members. I found a knowledge base document #825451 titled subsites that references IIS Manager and Sharepoint Services but I am not familiar with these services.     - Displaying a Random Image Hi- I'd like to have my "intro" page display a random image from a set of images... does anyone know of a way in FrontPage or straight HTML to do this? I know it can be done in PHP but I was looking for a simpler way and I wasn't sure if FrontPage 2003 had this feature incorporated into it.     - Solved: No Flashing Cursor in FP2003 in Design View in WindowsXP Yes, the problem also occurs with new pages created in FrontPage 2003. As with my old webpages, there is no flashing cursor in design view but the is in code view. I check newsgroups and found several people with the identical problem. It was driving me crazy!!!! I have over a hundred programs and nothing like that has ever happened. All of my programs are new and I upgrade ALL my hardware drivers weekly. I have all MY updates. I do full virus and Trojan scans weekly. I know it's a bug....in the past I've found and confirmed new bugs with all the major software providers including MS, Corel, Adobe and Macromedia. The exact solution is as follows: -Start -Control Panel -Accessibility Options -Display Tab -Under Cursor Options move slightly from narrow to wide -Apply For an unknown reason, just resetting the cursor width slightly and applying the change makes the cursor now work in the design view of FP 2003. In fact, after applying you can reset the cursor width to the original width and re-apply and the cursor will still be there in FP 2003!!!!     - Quick FrontPage help please re: hyperlinks and bolding... I can't stop Front Page from bolding hyperlinks when passed over with a mouse pointer. I've never been able to figure out how to get it to stop doing this. Can anybody help please? I use Arial font set at normal, NO bolding. When you hover over a link with the mouse pointer, the font changes to Arial BOLD. This increases the space needed to display the text so the entire paragraph now has to shift to allow for the extra space taken up by the BOLD hyperlink. I've been struggling with this through several versions of Front Page. Somebody, please put me out of my misery. I would like to place a button on our webpages where an editor can edit the page. while clicking on the button frontpage should come up. I can't use the IE button "Edit" because we use a dynamic script which shows the layout inclusive the frontpage-edited-web-page.     - Tables and text Hello, This might be one of the most simple questions ever asked but it's nevertherless something really helpful to me. It Frontpage or any HTML editor lets suppose we have a web-site built within a table and thus cells. Within these some text must go in. My question is how does one stop the text expanding the cell it's entered in if its line length exceeds the width of the cell? I suppose there is some HTML code or Javascript which keeps this in order within design and preview views? P.S Is there any good site with such info and similar on it?     - Database Results Error Up untill last week I had thmy webpage working, people could search my database and get the results. But Last week for some reson I started getting an error, I haven't made any new changes so i'm not sure what would have caused it.     - FP_ASP Component I am having a problem with adding code to the FP_ASP component. FrongPage always deletes my code and restores its code. The problem is that even if I add my code to the top of the page, FP still moves it underneath its component. In the component, FP has a response.redirect, which redirects to a new page. My code does not executed, if it is underneath the component. I can save the code with a different editor, but when my client opens it with FP, the code is gone. Please help!!     - Forms results to DB + e-mails I am using FP03 and am trying to write form results to a database PLUS send e-mails. This way, for example, sales leads can be sent immediately via e-mail to the sales manager, and added in to a opt-in database for further marketing and promotion.     - Online registration system & Access I am developing an online event registration application that will require a database that can store about 1,000 records and I am trying to decide whether we can use Access for this. We anticipate getting around 200-300 hits on the application per day during the 3-4 week registration period, with possibly 4-5 simultaneous users at any given time. In addition to read-only access (for the registration confirmation page), there will be some transmittal of data involved via web-based forms. If anyone out there has used Access for this type of application, how did it hold up? Are we setting ourselves up for disaster, or will Access be able to handle this kind of traffic?     - Problem in Front Page saving to the web server I have had this annoying problem now for a while and I can not find a fix. When I try to insert a new Hyperlink using FrontPage, FP does not allow me to browse the webserver where the web is located to find the file on the web server. The same thing happens when I try to save a new file I created. Again, FP only allows me to browse my local machine, not the web server where the site is located.     - Frontpage & Adobe - print multiple pdfs at once? Hello all and thank you for your time. I have a website with multiple pdfs listed (Table of Contents). These pdfs are consantly changing with updates and such. I would like to give the user the option to print all the documents at once to form a handbook. I would like to do this dynamically since the source is always being changed. I tried the Print All Linked Documents option but this printed blank documents and Adobe didn't like opening all those files, I got Adobe errors towards the end. I do not want to merge these documents into one pdf since I would have to after any update.     - FrontPage 2003 Not Working In Design Mode I just upgraded from FrontPage 2002 to FrontPage 2003. For some reason, I can't seem to modify my previously made webpages in "design" mode in FrontPage 2003. I also can't seem to do it when designing a new page.     - Find the table height? In FrontPage Design view there are two ways to change the height of a table. We can specify a height property, or we can add a lot of text in a cell to force the table to expand vertically. My program uses the second approach by writing data to a cell.     - Problem with FrontPage I've recently run into a problem with FrontPage 2002 that never came up in my two years of using it. The original myweb folder that contained all my files suddenly turned into a regular file folder. The result is that FrontPage can't upload from this folder. I tried creating a new myweb folder and moved all my files into it. I had to re-upload every single file, but that was no problem. Afterwards, the myweb folder turned into a regular folder again. (The icon for a myweb folder has a globe on it, while a regular folder doesn't.) What's going on here? I'm thinking that it has something to do with the fact that I uninstalled IE 6.0 and switched to the Mozilla Firefox browser. Can anyone confirm?     - Link Bars without Themes?? I am getting back to FP after a few years and decided to go "modern" and use css rather than themes. I am not using Navigation features either. Unfortunately I find Link Bars handy. I could go "raw" and just have rows of text but FP allows you to format them like a theme. This adds in the baggage of a theme, even though I am not using one. Is there another way to control the appearance of link bars, to make them bars with selected and non selected states? Or should I not be using link bars if I am not using themes?     - <td> height problem I've set up a page as a template, which my code copies, populates, and saves. That process works fine, with one exception... My page includes the html: <td></td> In the template, the height of this cell is essentially zero. But after my code processes the pages, the visible height of this cell in the saved pages can vary from about 5 points to about 30 points. (The html remains "<td></td>".) I've tried adding a height property of 1. I've tried inserting a 1-point high bit map in the cell. But I've found no way to force this cell to remain hidden. Any ideas> Thanks.     - Calculate Per Other Fields Hi, I have a an html form that I am using as an order form. I wanted to have for example one field show the sum of the values of two other field entries. Right now all of my fields are text fields, and I do not know if they will be able to generate numerical values. Also, all of the fields have the same name (T1) as you can see below. Below shows on the top the field that I want to have hold the sum, while underneath it are the three fields that hold the digits that I want to add together to create the sum. The other fields are very similar, and as I mentioned, they are all named T1.     - Migrating to FP 2003 problem Good afternoon everyone, We are in the process of changing from FP 2002 to FP 2003. So far everything is going smoothly. We have ran into one major problem that I hope someone can help me with. We have a couple of our main domains that have hundreds of subdomains. When we publish this site to our local server from the remote server, a cheap insurance policy in case the server crashes, FP 2002 would cruise right through all of the subdomains unless we had setup a password that was special to that subdomain. FP 2003 will not do this. It will prompt you for information for every subdomain. With over 300 subdomains, this can be a very time consuming process. If we can get this one problem fixed, we will convert totally to FP 2003, if not, we will be going back to FP 2002 which we don't want to do. Thank you in advance for any and all help. Sometimes FrontPage 2003 works just fine editing Windows SharePoint Services aspx pages, but other times I get an error: "The server could not process your request. Contact your Internet service provider or web server administrator to make sure that the server has FrontPage Server Extensions installed." Being that WSS decided to place a @ Register for a component I no longer want, need or use at the top of many pages, and the *only* supported way to edit these pages is by using FP2003, the function *really* should work.....     - Publishing I have been unsuccessfully trying to upload my web sites from my Web host to my computer. One of the confusing issues is that it lists the "remote" site as the folder on my computer and "Local" as the Web host. That seems to me to be the reverse of what it is supposed to be. I am trying to publish my website with Frontpage 2002 but
everytime it gets to a file with the extension .shtml it
just hangs, then I get a message saying 'processing web
updates', and then then a server timeout message.
Any idea anyone please

Have your host check the mime types for your account and make sure the .shtml extension is added to
text/html
