    - IIS 5.1 (XP Pro) Will not run DBR wizard using FP 2002 I've used the DBR wizard to pull information from a table plenty of times on win2k and win2003 servers. Never had any issues. Today a customer wanted to run a web site off their box using WinXP pro. Told them it can be done no problem. However, when trying to pull information from a database using the DBR wizard, the DBR table displays a message I've never seen before: "This is the start of the Database Results region. The page must be fetched from a web server with a web browser to display correctly; the current web is stored on your local disk or network" And of course, when the page is diplayed it states the generic Database error. Contact your System Admin. -IIS 5.1 is running on WinXP Pro -Running 2002 extensions (did not install 2000, d/l the 2002) -All patches have been run. -No problems viewing any .htm / .html pages -No problems running Sharepoint admin -Using NTFS -No problems with permissions When I check Tools / Web Settings / Database tab, the database connection is verified. When I check Tools / Web Settings / General tab, I noticed another strange message I've never seen before regarding the server status: "No server currently in use" Yet IIS 5.1 is running just fine....     - Poppu box with content..... How? I am trying to make a little pop up for a members profile. I would like it to work like a pop up ... darn those things.... anyway I dont want a navigation bar to apear with the new window and I want to preset the size smaller when they come up... How do I do these things... preset the size and do away withe the navigation bars the expoirer normaly provides.     - table column widths hi I actually have frontpage98. After inserting a table I want 3 columns of various sizes. The problem is when you add text to the cells the columns will resize instead word wrapping. A reply I got before says columns will resize with long words for eg. setting column width to any value like 30% doesnt fix them to that size as that is only the minimum.     - Publishing Web Over Previous Non-FP Web What happens to the previously existing web & pages index.html, Images Folder, etc.) when I publish a FP-02 web to the URL? Some of those previous pages are independent of (i.e. not linked to) the existing web but can be accessed directly. However, they contain some graphics that are in the images folder.     - changing FP ASP code Is there a way to stop FP from reversing the changes I make to ASP code. I know with FP2000 you could not but with FP2002 I could with no problems. Now I have switched to FP2003 and reverts back to FP ASP code when I make changes. I am presently creating some database queries and results and would like to make changes.     - Force file download from a ftp server. I am trying to create a hyperlink that will prompt the user to save the file to their hard drive. The files are on our internal FTP server.     - subweb and session variables I have a subweb that uses session variables created on the root web. Up until this morning, everything worked fine. Since this morning, the session varibles created on the root web are no longer set in the subweb. So what happened this morning, before I noticed anything broken, I created a database connection to a SQL database using the Frontpage database component. Before this morning, I connected to the database using VBScript and ASP pages. What could have happened to make my session variables start all over in the sub web?     - Frontpage Search Component Hi, I cannot seem to get my Search of my website to find the right index file. I publish my website from a working area, but understand I need to work directly on the webpage on the server to see the correct help dialog boxes. (I am using FrontPage as my web editor.) The website is on the D:\ Drive of the server and it is storing the index file(s) on the c:\ drive. This server has several websites with different domains on the computer. Each has its own indexing working. And the indexing seems to be working In Frontpage when I get to the Search Form Properties and the Search Results table, I do not know what to selectin "Scope of the Search Results" If I select directory and browse, I cannot see anything but what is in the directory of the website, thus not where the index is placing the information. If I select the Entire Web Site and save the webpage. When I try a search I get an error that says the FrontPage Runtime Error and something about the extensions are not working which is what I can get if I do not publish the page with server extensions in. The same happens when I select "This Web" What am I doing wrong? This use to work so well in older versions of Frontpage. I am running our web on a Windows 200 server wiht Microsoft Server extension 2002 and IIS is version 5.0 I am using Frontpage 2002 ( 10.26....) THanks. .     - FrontPage 2003 Search Component Hello, I am having a problem with the FP2003 Search Component. For some reason the search component is returning pages that have been deleted from my web. As an example, please go to http://www.southporttimes.com/search.html and do a search for "Sports." You will see that the first result is "Southport Area Sports & Activities." This is a page that no longer exists on my website yet is still showing in search results. I have tried everything I can think of to fix this problem to no avail.     - Dynamic Drop Downs - What do I need & How do I do it? Ahh! I have a whole bunch of PDF files (based on AutoCAD drawings) I need to share. I have the PDFs organized into Buildings->Floors->Description. Ideally, what I'd like is for a user to select a Building Number from a Drop Down Box... then automagically a new Drop Down Box appears for the various Floor options of the "Selected Building".... Once the floor is selected on that building... yet another box dynamically appears giving the user the last set of options for that floor: electrical, plumbing, architectural...etc. Once the final option is selected the pdf file (drawing) will begin to load in a frame.     - Keep things together on printed page? Hi, I am using FP2000. I have created a web page that is kind of long. It has several "sections" that I have separated with horizontal lines. I was wondering if there is a way I can have any control over how this web page will print. Basically, I'm looking for a "Keep together" type option like in MS Word, or at least a way that I can force each "section" to start at the top of a new page.     - setting up a hyperlink which forces the "open or save" file dialogue I have a couple of mpeg movie files on my site for viewing. When I click on the link in IE6 the file automatically goes into 'open' mode (and of course if I sat there long enough they probably would open and run !!). I want to see a dialogue box appear which offers the standard 'Open or Save' options, instead of having to right click on the link and select Save Target As..     - Unable to resize a column from an XLS I copied part of an xls into a table cell on a page. I need to resize the columns but now I cannot resize the columns on my web page. The problem is that it displays all contacts, including 'Administrator' and various other email accounts which are not 'contacts' as such.     - FrontPage 2003 crashes I have built many different pages using tables and scripts without any problems. Recently I started using TDC and a *.csv file to automatically create these tables when the page is loaded. The website works fine. The problem is when I edit the code that these OBJECT elements have been inserted. After working on 1 or just a few pages (the amount varies from time to time) FrontPage just ups and quits. At least it tells me there is an error. It never seems to crash when editing pages that don't have the OBJECT element in them. The only properties the OBJECT has are: an ID, CLASSID (333C7BC4- 460F-11D0-BC04-0080C7055A83), param "DataURL", and param "Filter". This problem is very annoying and time consuming.     - Homepage Clone FP 2002 - I have rebuilt my "homepage" or index.html, altho other pages upload changes, the new index.html can only be seen from clicking on a link within the website (Home Button). If you put the URL in the browser address bar you still get only the old homepage. In the Folder section of the FP web, altho only one homepage is listed, it's little house icon. My server did an upgrade to FP 2002. Since I have the web on a disc, can I delete existing old homepage index.html on hard drive and re-post new index.html from disc on to hard drive without doing any damage?     - Password protect 1 page in a web Hello, I am tring to password protect 1 page in a web of 30 pages. I am using FP 2003 and the hosting server (earthlink) has 2002 server ext on it. I have tried KB#825498 & 301554. 825498 works on Explorer only and the second didn't work. I also tried creating a subweb on the server and seting the user for that subweb. It only works part time and I can use only a few passwords (If I need to kick someone out of the protected page this way, it hurts the other users.) Thanks for your help. Ken W.     - Frontpg.exe does not terminate: Please help Hello Everyone, I built a Shared Add-In project using VS.Net 2003. It runs perfectly in all office applications. However, for FrontPage, the Frontpg.exe process does not terminate when I close the application. I have to manually open up the task manager and kill it. If I do not manually kill the Frontpg.exe process then the add-in will not work if I were to reopen FrontPage again. Can anyone tell me why this happens and/or how to remedy this?     - Search page not working The search page on my website is not working.
