    - Preview I have my site pretty much done. I want to preview to ensure my links are correct, but NO links work after I switch over to preview mode. I run the recalculate and it says everythings fine, i check the navigation view, all the pages are looking correct. But No Links works. Well the only link that works is to our email address.     - custom ASP programming has clashed with Frontpage DRW pages with SQL INSERT and UPDATE In a nutshell, things that used to work on my site have stopped working and the error seems to have occurred since I called the msado15.dll file in a custom ASP file. A LITTLE MORE BACKGROUND INFO: I created an ASP site in MS Frontpage 2003 with an Access database to store and report on my departments training events, registrations and evaluations. The site worked pretty well, but I wanted to take some functionality to a higher level and found that I had exausted the capabilities of the Frontpage Database Results Wizard, so I stared to read about creating ASP pages in Beginning ASP 3.0 (WROX press). WHEN THE PROBLEM AROSE: I only have permission to make web sites at one web server, so I thought I would integrate some custom ASP pages with my exiting database and Frontpage generated ASP pages. In my experimenting, I used datastore.asp to connect to the database and also called the metadata type="typelib" File="C:\Program Files\...\msado15.dll". In the process of experimenting with the code, I made some great progress in learning to use ASP and hope to continue learning again soon. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM: After I was done with my custom ASP work, I needed to do some work on some other pages in my site and started to receive error messages on pages that used to work fine. Specifically on pages which have database results with Custom SQL statements containing UPDATE or INSERT queries. Here are two error messages: "Database Results Wizard Error Unable to find operator in query string. Query string currently is INSERT INTO registrations (fname, lname, email, phone, dept, platform, attend, eventID, precourse_status) VALUES ('::fname::', '::lname::', '::email::', '::phone::', '::dept::', '::platform::', '::attend::', ::eventID::, '::precourse_status::')" and "Database Results Wizard Error Your page contains a query with user input parameters that could not be resolved.     - Broken Custom Hover Button Custom hover button created with FP2002 appears broken in preview pane and browser. Workarounds of MS articles Q323236 and Q817697 had been followed (preview only in a browser and delete codebase="./" in html), but the problem is still not resolved. Warning! Previously good custom hover buttons, created with FP2000 (not FP2002) in a published Internet web, would turn broken after the web page has been opened LIVE by FP2002!     - Server Extensions problems Due to the number of problems I am having, I must not have the Server Extensions installed correctly. We are running our own server so I have no help. How can I tell if server extensions installed? When I go to the server and use IIS and right click on my web, and choose properties, it has a tab for FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions and says Sharepoint Team Services are installed. But I am having problems with Site Search (_derived/nortbots page not found error) to see this go to http://www.fbcbrandon.org/site_search.htm Top Ten List Email to from form (although appears to be setup correctly in IIS on Sharepoint settings).     - FP2003 Database Result custom query setup I am trying to look up a record in an access database through the database results wizard. I have not been able to find out how to set up the custom query. Perhaps I have the syntax incorrect. I have tried to 'insert parameter ...' in the custom sql dialog box. This adds the parameter name with double colons in front and behind the field a form field like SELECT * FROM quotes WHERE (quote_id = ::random_quote_id::). quote_id is the access field name and random_quote_id is generated with vbscript in asp.     - Setting Screen Resolution to Publish at I have created a fair-sized structure for my Web Site, only the Home Page and a few other pages have content. I built the site using FrontPage 2000 (now have 2003 to install) on my Workstation computer which uses 2 monitors, both at 1024x768 resolutioion. I previewed site in Browser at 800x600 and it looked just fine. I published it to a test site. When I view it on my Workstation, it's great. But when I view it on a Network computer with 17" screen, the width of my pages are too wide for the monitor. How do I set it to publish at lower screen resolution. Or What do I have to do???     - Frontpage installer When I try to us the detect & repair option on frontpage 2002, I get an error message from the windows installer of "This patch package could not open. Verify that the patch package exists and you can access it, or contact the application vendor." I even inserted my FP 2002 cd and tried it's installer and got the same message.     - disappearing frames I have created a website with a header banner and a left column contents section for navigation, and a main page bit that contains the main substance. This format then remained the same even though the main substance page changes. However I made a few amendments last night and for some reason when I click on a link in the left contents / navigation frame the main page appears with the banner header or left contents / navigation section. I added a 'last updated' statement to the banner and a 'latest results' link to the contents/navigation frame. This has happened before and then sorted itself out.     - Installation of Service Pack 1 which includes FrontPage I have student and Teachers version 2002 of Office XP CDs which I bought about a year ago and went on the 'net' and asked for updates. It gave me SP-1 -- I downloaded this and then it started to install, and stopped asking for the CD. I put the CD in and tried to continue, and it prompted me that it could NOT find FrontPage installation package 'PROPLUS MS'. What do I do? I noticed on this MS website that there are updates for Office 2000, and Version 2003, but NOT Version 2002? Having Version 2002, do I need SP-1???     - Identify submitting URL in form results I want my form results to contain the page URL of the submission page. This is because I have 10,000 pages and I want to "include" a form on each one so the user can submit comments about that page. I could make a different form for each page, with a "hidden" field identifying the page, but that would mean amending 10,000 pages if I redesign the form ... How do I do this? I can use "substitution" Page-URL to display the including page url inside the included form. This works, but it is not in the results received from the form submission.     - FP200 table (ie. grid) manipulation using VBA Hello everyone, I've been manually updating a table on my FP2000 page and now I'm trying to write some VBA which I can execute with a Macro button. At the moment I do the following tasks: 1. Paste the table from Excel onto my FP page. 2. Delete the hidden columns that re-appear when the table is pasted in FP. 3. Highlight several columns one at time and click the right-align button. 4. Highlight the whole table, click the Table properties and apply a .gif background. 5. Click to format button and change the text to white, bold, size 10 (my .gif background is a green grass kind of thing!). A Macro recorder would be a dream for this, but it isn't available in FP :-( Clearly, task 1. can be automated! My research has enabled me (on a test page) to use the CommandBars() object and highlight the test grid I created and make the backgound turn red (as a test). A small step, but I see no way of applying my .gif file to the background. Also, I'm slightly at a loss to how I go about creating the VBA to do the above list of tasks, as a lot is done via dialogue boxes. Sample VBA code for table manipulation seems to be thin on the ground. Can anyone give me some pointers, some ideas, some literature on how to automate my tasks. Much appreciated.     - Front page and Outlook calendar Outlook allows you to create a web page of your calendar. During this process, outlook also creates some Java Script. If you load the created web page onto my web site by itslef (not within any frame), the NextMonth button (arrow to the right of the month text) works fine. But, if I but it into a frame, the Java script adds a single character before the calendar file name. So IE displays an error that the file can't be found. This is easily reproducable. For example: stage description 1 send in application 2 send in money 3 send in reference 4 get invited for an interview 5 have the interview 6 acknowledge the interview etc. is there an add-in that i should use? It would be nice to have a colorful, graphical solution that could also give more detailed information on each stage as well. (for example, more detailed information for stage 4 might be "date of interview: 2/18/04, Interview is Mr. Jones") Any ideas?
