    - Rotating info using FrontPage 2000 We want to have an area on certain pages where we will rotate different information. I'm not sure how to go about this. Some of the information to be rotated will be somewhat like a "business card" of different firms. Other information that would go in the same area would be like an ad, referring users to articles on our site. The information on the firms is not currently stored in a database. I am thinking I could perhaps have some type of file (image file?) for each firm, and for each of the "ads" for our articles, that would be rotated through the space on the page. I know the FP ad rotator doesn't do the trick, because it can only hold one hyperlink. Each of the rotating items would need its own hyperlink. Our website is on a Linux platform. I'm wondering if we would be best to use some kind of ad software for this, or if we should set up a database (mySQL, with PHP - would require some learning on my part!), or if there is some easy way to do it just using FP.     - Online Forms handler I have a form that is emailing me information from the form as well as writing it to a file on the server.     - Frontpage Master Site opening vs. Subsite Hi, Have a strange situation. We have 4 developers that are all working on parts of a web site (say... www.mydomain.com). If I open a site under that site that is in another folder (say we have a department folder under that site) that sites subfolder opens in mine ok. So if I open the site under the department folder called IT, then my path is \\www.mydomain.com\department\IT. Thats what show up in my Website local web site path. I get the IT site with all the navigation info fine & intact. If another person opens the IT site after I'm out (not checking out any of the pages), that person selects the IT site but opens up at the \\www.mydomain.com main site instead of the IT site, even though they opened it at the subsite level. Their Website local web site path shows the main site (not the department\IT part). The folders on the left can be navigated to the IT folder, but it doesn't maintain the other information like it would if the site itself was opened. I hope I'm making sense with this. Because that person can't get the IT site level, their is no navigation information showing. The links for the navigation don't show up, so when they publish the page for IT, it loses that. We have 2 people that it works correctly for and 2 that it doesn't. We've upgrade all machines to the SP3 for Office 2003, so they match. Any Ideas? Thanks, Rich.     - changing code Is there some way that i can stop frontpage from changing the code that I have changed? What I am trying to do is run my website through a html validator. And when I make the needed changes in the html code through frontpage and then save the changes Frontpages alters the changes that I have made to what it wants them to be. And I am looking for a way to stop this from happening. I guess is there is not other option I will have to start using notepad to create my web pages. Any sugestion ?     - Site Hit Counter, How to... Anyone know what's the best (cheapest) way to put a site hit counter on a webpage. The website has not been published yet and may become a sub-domain to another site local to our town. I've done some google search for "free hit counter" and most (seem) to want me to register with an email address and provide the URL. Leads me to believe a hit counter wont work unless the site is published to the web. Don't really know how hit counters work... can this done via a local script or something?     - code disappears in design mode I've rebuilt pages on my site about 6 times now because after I get them right (and confirm in Explorer) I close them and open another page to work on. When I go back to the page it nests a second set of navigation inside my main body, but when you go into design mode even the text has disappeared...even though it shows up in Explorer. If I click ANYWHERE in design mode...all the text and work vanishes and I have to start over. Any ideas??? I'm not too happy with Frontpage right now and I've been using for a long time.     - Saving and Retrieving from Access db I have created my first ASP page with a simple form that has 5 radio button choices (1-5). I want to be able to save those (which it appears it is doing) and I also want to total up how many 1's 2's etc that users selected.     - Creating Podcasts with Front Page 2003: Streaming Audio Possible? Hello. I'm using Front Page 2003. I'd like to know if there are tools or add-ins that let you create podcasts with Front Page. Currently, I'm using WordPress and PodPress to create my blogs and podcasts. But I'd like to know if I can create a podcast with Front Page. I found a tool on the Microsoft web site that creates RSS feeds using Front Page. It's located here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa218660.aspx As with WordPress, I'd like a visitor to be able to click a link on my Front Page web page and listen to the podcast in streaming form, without a Run/Save dialog box appearing, as it is right now.     - Use of DCount in ASP I'm using Frontpage 2000 with connection to an Access 2000 DB. I open a connection to a stored query in the DB. After the Set command to execute the query I would like to test for the number of records before writing the data to the web page. If no records are returned I would skip over that section of the html code. I've tried using a DCount function for the record check but get an error (unable to display the page). The form is supposed to send a request to a document and another to a e-mail address. However when I hit submit, I get an error that says Frontpage error: end-user: contact your webmaster Webmaster: check the application logs for the error There are no errors in the log I have read some discussions that said IE should be getting the e- mails.     - Cells Disappearing in Table I have a form on a site that has a table(form) for our customers to fill in and submit. When the confirmation page appears with the "filled In" info, all the info is intact, but one of the cell columns is gone. Just blank white space, no borders, nothing. I took over maintenance on a website that has swf menus. 2 problems: 1. in IE, they need to be clicked twice...once to "activate", then once to go to the link 2. in firefox, the first swf loads, and then when you click a menu choice it goes in one click, but the swf on the target page never loads.     - 404,2 error Hi All: I have a server, Windows 2003 IIS 6 and Tomcat 5.5, and I am getting a 404,2 error when I attempt to read time, using my command string: <GET /gettime.jsp> What is weird though is that from one specific location the error is present but not from other ones.     - Password protected page within an open web site I am running MS FP 2000 on a Vista machine. I maintain several sites and have been asked if I can set up secure pages within an open web site. What I want to do is have a page with info for a specific group that when they need to get it all they have to do is type in a password to get to that info on the secure web page. I still want the unsecure pages to be able to be accessed by anyone who whats to view them. I do not want to have to put in a user name and PW for every person that will have access to the secure site. I just want to be able to type in a PW and have it grant access.     - inserting a pdf image I have several PDF images that I want to insert in a webpage. I can put them in a page and direct a viewer to the image with a link. It appears fine but when it is put on line what happens to the editing bar where the image can be changed. I want anyone to be able to change the image's size but not its other properties.     - problem with publishing from new computer I am new to this group, and Have two questions about websites I have constructed. Background: I retired, selling all my computer equipment, having saved everything on CDs, including everything about my two websites. I have FP2000 on an OEM disk, XP on an OEM disk, and bought a quite nice new computer. Installed XP, Office, and FP; copied information about webs, and prepared to maintain websites. When I opened FrontPage, I found I could not publish my changes. In the error mode of listening to too many people, I opened www.oak-lawn-library.com in Internet explorer, made an update, and published it successfully. Now the index file you can see on the internet does not match my computer, which is troubling. Question 1: How can I return to opening FrontPage, maintaining, and publishing from FrontPage? Forging on, I could also not publish from www.pdsterling.com, so went the Internet Explorer route, and could not edit in FP. Since I am the owner of the domain, and since I know I have FP extensions installed, confirmed by my webhost, I now return to Question 1. Why am I having this trouble, and where did I go wrong? All pages can be viewed with Firefox. All of the pages except the 5 can be
viewed with IE 7.0. The 5 pages are Just Because 1,2,3 & Low lives 1&2.

I have since went back to my page template and reinstalled the text. It
uploaded fine.
