    - Specific Page Access I would like to make an entry text box on the shared left border of my site that allows my customers to enter in a specific code I give them. When they enter in the 6 digit code, they immediately go to the specific page that I made for them. Only by sumitting the code can they see the information on the page I made for them.     - server When I open a web from within Frontpage then do Tools / Web Settings the Server version: is "No server currently in use." What does it take to start a server from within FrontPage? I have found that if I open a Web in from inside of IIS using the "All tasks" then "Open with Frontpage" the server appears to be loaded. But now, when I open frontpage this way from within IIS, it finds the correct default.htm but is current in the wrong directory. As such all of the other components of my web are not visible in the FrontPage Folder list. If I use File / Open etc. to get the correct directory established then the IIS server is no longer loaded.     - FP2000; Forms Hello, I'm running FP2000 and have no problem creating a form. My problem is trying to send the completed web to the off site server. They have already told me they ARE running FPSE. When I look at the code I see a grayed area. By default FP is always inserting the local file name in the place where the file should be on the off site server.     - Frontpage Linking Question Hi, I am working on a webpage at the place where I work. I'm not a web designer by any means so this question may be trivial. I have a button on the page that I want to open a program that each computer on our intranet has installed on it. The way I did it now was to simply link it to the .exe file. The thing is with that, everytime someone clicks on it a box comes up that says open/save you know which box I'm talking about. Well the program will load if the user hits open.     - can not upload To whom it may concern: I purchased FrontPage 98 several months ago. I have been very happy with the product and have not had any problems up until recently. I maintain a website for a church and update the site weekly. The last time I went to update the site all indications showed the site was being updated. However, when I checked the actual site, nothing was updated. I have since tried several times to update the site with no success. When I try to update going through /copy of calvarytaberna (local), it says that "no files have changed in your web since you last published to destination". Then I tried to update through "<Root Web>" and it comes up with "This operation requires author permission". Since I am the author and have not changed the password, I cannot figure out how to resolve this issue. I went into the control panel of the website and my password is still valid, therefore the problem must be something in Front Page. HELP!     - accessing URL instead of c: drive I've made a website with Frontpage at www.pyechamberlayne.com. When I go to work on it I used to be able to go to the index page on my c: drive and make tabs for subsidiary pages to work on by doing ctrl-click on the hyperlinks. Now when I do that, rather than just get the linked-to page from my c: drive, Frontpage goes to download the linked-to page from the Web at my URL. I CAN work that way but it's a hassle. A real pain. What I want to do is to navigate with ctrl-clicks like I used to. Now I know there are other ways to navigate: like use the "Navigate" function on the left side of the Frontpage screen. Duh!! When I insert web component spreadsheet I can see the blank spread sheet but I can not make activate(following the instructions as listed in the help sectiob. When I view the page on the internet I only see a small white blank box.     - Calendar postings within Frontpage I'm attempting to create a reservation page using FrontPage. I have a situation where some reservations are recurring. I'd like to have a feature whereby users can select recurring options and identify their meeting is weekly, bi-weekly, second tuesday of every month, etc. This is similar to the manner in which Outlook works for us right now. Unfortunately, we've required a password for each meeting so that the requester retains control. This means each recurring meeting needs it's own password.     - No Form Confirmation E-mail Well, my problem is that I never get emailed the results for my forms. I'm thinking maybe It's because the confirmation code won't turn into the info put in.     - gif image problem Using FP 2002 on Windows XP home... gif images do not show up in the normal view, they do show up in preview and when I view them on my web page. MS techs at this point are stumped. It is a problem specific to the computer I'm using since everything works normally on my notebook.     - Web page file sized in FrontPage When I create a page and save it it shows about 185 KB. MUCH too large. The icon shows up as a 'front page' file. When I save a picture from the web or web site the icon shows as a Internet Explorer file. The sizes of the IE files are much smaller yet seems to have the same amount of pictures and links on it that I have. Also, It doesn't seem to matter whether I insert a picture from Photoshop at 30 MB or Optimized for the web at around 28 KB. The resultant size of the saved page in FrontPage seems to be basically unchanged. I am confused!!! Does publishing the page onto the web change the size of the file? Hi,

On my webpage I have inserted the FrontPage search form.
This picks up all the .htm documents on the site, but not
those saved as .pdf - is there a way to solve this problem.

Hi Kathryn,

Not with the intrinsic Search functionality of FP. Check with Adobe, they
have search functionality that will search the contents of pdf file.
