    - accessing database with frontpage I am running a web server off winXP Pro and i have ASP also on it. Do i need anything else so that i can send queries and display the results from the webpage.     - Dilemma I have an install dilemma and need some guidance from a frontpage guru. I orignally purchased the full edition of Win98 and installed it on my Windows 98 second edition machine and used it for a while until the FP2000 came out. I purchased the upgrade, installed it and have been using it on and off ever since. Along the way I upgraded my operating system to Windows 2000 with no problems. A few weeks ago my drive began to have lots of errors, so I bought a new drive and installed Windows 2000. I have been slowly reinstalling applications and today I tried my FP product. The FP98 CD gets the initial install screen, but when I click on the install nothing happens. I have since found out that FP98 won't run on Win2K and I can't install my FP2K because it is an upgrade from FP98. If I try the FP2000, after I enter the key, it searches the drive and reports 'no qualifying product for upgrade found'. How can I get around this without buying yet another version of FP?     - How to control Task Bar content with Drop Down Boxes on my FP2003 My winxp laptop and desktop work differently in this regard. The laptop: I select an item from a Drop Down Box and hit GO | my pdf file opens | The Back tab is dimmed so I Close | and my Home page (from the Task Bar) displays just as it should. On my desktop: When I hit GO the URL for my site dissapears from the Task Bar, so after I view my pdf file, there is no way to go back to my Home page without closing out to my desktop and re-opening my site.     - refresh I am trying to load a primary web page, whicih will immediately refresh to a seconday page I tried inserting : <head> <meta HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="1" URL="http://www.oakridgeonline.net/index2.htm"> </head> I also tried simply "./index2.htm" as the index is in the same folder. When I load the primary page the page appears to be cycling every second, but the URL does ot appear in the browser and the browser stays on the primary page.     - Fading Images Hi Folks - If you go to www.msn.com, there is a non-flash way of swapping images on the homepage.     - Calculating Order Form Hi, I am at the bottom-the-latter when it comes to web programming. I have been working on a cgi script with the appropriate fields that deliver an order to webmaster on our website, www.provincialpress.us, where we sell mail order books. I have an order form on the website that works pretty good, but totals have to be calculated by our customers. It contains 10 lines with "Item no.," "Title," "Qty.," "Price ea.," and "Total," in each line, with an entry for "Shipping," and "Order Total." Each are appropriately numbered with suffixes, _0,_1, _2, _3, etc., except for "Shipping" and "Order Total." I would like to have "Total_0," "Total_1," etc, thru "Total_9", and "Shipping" to produce a total in "Order Total." I have a calculating form that I downloaded and modified to form 10 lines of order info, that seems to work good, but when I try to get it to deliver the information to "webmaster@mywebsite," by inserting the code used by my working form, the calculating properties quit working. I'm using FrontPage 2003. Am I looking for something that is not possible, or just over my head. I hope I'm including enough information for feedback.     - I am new to javascript and running in to some problems It has come to my understanding javascript runs when page is first opens this would be a problem if I use javascript in what I am trying to do: I need to understand how this can be stoped so javascript runs when the user selects the submit button which happens afterr the user has selected a option in the two radiobuttons that ask the user to choices pricing by each or pricing by dozen. The logic which parses the action of the radiobutton is inside a form that is contained in a table the form is used to send standard information to paypal server but what changes is the item number and price which is barried in some hidden input fields inside the form: I would be using some IF ELSE ENDIF logic around the two lines of HTML that changed depending on wich option the user selected in the radiobutton - since it has come to my understanding that javascript runs when page opens javascript my not be the answer and I might have to use PHP unstead But if PHP is the answer then I need it to run when information is being sent to paypal so this means it has to happen at the client side like HTML does. In FrontPage I can change the subsite to a folder but I don't have any links in my subsite after I publish it nor do I have shared borders. Can I have only a 1 page subsite? If I don't change the subsite to a folder and publish it, it isn't accessible on the internet.     - How do I prevent FrontPage from inserting WIDTH and HEIGHT on an I FrontPage has the most annoying behavior with pictures. It will insert WIDTH amd HEIGHT to IMG tags, even after I delete them -- it just puts them back in the next time I go into Normal View. The picture size box is NOT checked in the picture properties. This happens only if the picture URL is resolved (i.e. picture does exist at the URL address). This is extremely problematic for me, as the size of the picture can change, and if I'm not careful, and forget to delete the WIDTH and HEIGHT (inserted against my wishes) before saving the page, the picture will be distorted if the dimensions change. I have looked all over, but have not found a way of disabling this most aggravating behavior. Is there a way of prevent FrontPage from inserting WIDTH and HEIGHT to the IMG tag?     - manyi frames, data in one, problems accessing it from another iframe i have an order page mostly written in javascript. (it's been fun) not this part though. the IF statement and using the information from the form in one iframe in another iframe for processing, so it shows the orders made. (the posting of the orders is not an issue here, it is sent to a file on the sever.) i have added alert("alert1") with the number changed every time i use it. to see what is happening. first i think i need to get the form issue sorted. is there a site that is just about forms, and how to access the data within forms while in another frame via a function call to a .js file. the document...... and parent...... commands are really confusing, in the way it is used. i need to find how to use these correctly. i have a file shown below that is called showorders.js, it is called from the frame that need the information. function showorders() { alert("start of show orders script"); form = document.forms.favororders; document.write(form.Avocado.value); alert("end of show orders script"); } but the only line that work is the first alert, the rest is not working, or executed. i have checked the spellings and the case of the letters, all are correct. omiting the document.write.... line the script run from start to finish showing both alerts. what is the correct syntax for this line? thanks Jason Tag: Frontpage book for application developement Tag: 53264

I was simply copying a page from one folder, and moving it to another folder, and I got the following error: Server error: This folder is part of a thicket.
