    - Dropdown box I'm used to using ms access and after selecting an item from a dropdown box I fill in another text box with the resault of the dropdown box.     - window.close() No ONCLICK ? I am trying to get a redirector page to redirect or close based on a querystring. The redirect part is easy, and is working fine... I now need to figure out a way to close the page as well. I can not use <a ONCLICK="window.close()"> with a button because the page has to close by it's self based on the value of the querystring.     - password for members-only section I was asked by my club to put a password on our members- only section. There needn't be a different password for everyone; just a word we all know (let's say "parrot") to validate against. I tried doing this with a form, but there were two problems: 1) it wants to send the data to a file or email. i don't want the data 2) even though I set it to be a password field, when the wrong password is put in, the validation message comes back saying "Please enter a value equal to "parrot" in the Password field".     - Cell reversal peoblem; On my index.htm page I have multiple frames. When I post on the web or preview in FP, the cells reverse horizontally down the entire page.     - Email Form Results / Question Right now I get the results sent to me. I would like to somehow add the respondent. I have a field in the form that collects the email address. That fileds name is: Email Would I just put in the following in the line that asks where to send the email results? Fairfield-Seniors@houston.rr.com;Email I read that it was possible to have more than one person get the results, by using a semi-colon to separate them.     - Required to fill info before accessing download I'm not sure which group I should post this so I also posted this on microsoft.public.frontpage, sorry if either are incorrect. I have a web page that people can download a demo of a programme,the site was made with FP 2000.It is my first attempt and is way past due for an update,I'm also about to start on another site,unrelated to the first.There are a couple of things I want to add and haven't figured out how to do it. First, I want to add a section on the download page that requires people to fill in some contact info before they can access the download.I'm trying to sell something and would like to follow up. Second, on the new site I'm staring,offering compleatly different software, I'd like to also have and animation or short movie of the programme giving the viewer an Idea of what the programme can do.     - re: Adding Video to FrontPage Hi, Thank you Jim for getting me started on converting my ripped DVD files. I was able to convert them to MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and AVI (with a separate WAV file). However, I am having difficulty finding a utility to convert any of those files to WMV without some sort of limitations - watermark, 50% conversion, etc. Can anybody recommend a good free utility? Also, how can I convert an AVI file whose audio is in a separate WAV? Is MPEG better anyway? BTW I mistyped in my previous post - I am using FP 2002. Just out of curiosity I tried adding the MPEG video to the web page, but it wouldn't work. No video showed up and I had to right click on the non-existent image to select "play" to hear the video.     - FP Keeps Publishing Same, Unchanged Files While at work I do some minor maintenenace on our site live on the server. When I get home I then publish down from the server to my home computer so I have a current copy of our site here. However, every time I publish down to my home computer FP provides me with a list of changed files and asks that I confirm that I want these changed files downloaded. The problem is, I didn't change any of those files. I might change my index.html page and then FP wants to publish an entire directory of images that were never accessed. If I repeat the publishing the exact same files are sent down again. Could background running software cause FP to believe that the files on my computer are not the same as what is on my host? It isn't trying to publish the entire site but it is always the same files that get sent down. Instead of a 30 second publishig it is 20 mins.     - Trouble uploading site using FP2002 - "32 Bit TCP/IP" error msg I am having trouble uploading my FP2002 site. I get an error messag that reads "32 Bit TCP/IP networking not installed or misconfigured... I have tried everything including turning off McAfee Security Center diabling my firewall. I read another post from August in which th user uninstalled Norton and was finally able to get it to work but i sounded like he had to reset the computer's date and time to a tim prior to the original installation of Norton. This makes no sense. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to solve it? I am abl to upload to the net using every other procedure and every progra except FP where my real site was painstakingly developed.     - Template to Shared Borders Is there anyone here who can, and wants to, take a template and divide it up into shared borders and get them to work right on my server (line up right with each other, use the style sheets, and replace the old shared borders)? I have a designer who has divided the page into borders, but nothing is right - the page has errors now, the style sheets don't control the fonts, etc; the borders don't line up, and they don't stretch - down or across - like the template does.     - Cell alignment question with different resolutions My 2 rows X 3 col table holds a button in each cell. When the web is viewed with 640 X 480, the cells are fairly close together, with just a little spacing between each cell. Most importantly, they are spaced evenly across the page. At 800 X 600 the cells are further apart, but not spaced evenly. At 1024 x 768 the cells are still further apart, AND they seemed to be spaced evenly.     - Framed Pages loose framing after hyperlinking to PayPal Hi all, Novice stumpling thru Front Page 2003. Just playing and experimenting with paypal - buy now button. I've got a web page with frames. As long as I stay withing my own web site the frames work properly. ie indexes on the left displaying content in the middle pane. However, when I hyperlink to paypal, which display in the middle pane as expected. I click on the previous index from the left pane, my hyperlink opens as a new browser window.     - How to make text change when slide show pic changes Ok, here is how i have it setup. On my website I created a layer and put a picture inside of it. Next to the layer I wrote a discription of the image. I would like to have it where either the picture changes, and the text changes with it, like a slide show, or have it so that a random pic and its discription appear each time that the webpage is opened.     - Problems with buttons after Windows Service Pack 2 I have a very simple intranet page that has some hover buttons with hyper links on it. After installing Windows Service Pack 2, there are only little red X's where the buttons should be. If I click on the area where the button should be it does nothing. If I right click and select open it follows the hyperlink. If I right click and select save target as it allows me to save the file that the hyperlink points to. When I open the page in FrontPage, it shows the buttons until I do a preview then the buttons go away. Any ideas?     - Frontpage 2003 Timeouts I just upgraded to Frontpage 2003 and now I can not publish updates without the site timing out before everything is done publishing. This causes the site to lose the navigation bar. I have subwebs I created in Frontpage 2000. The site was opened in 2003 then tyied to publish. Failed the first time. I did notice that many of the files I put in the subwebs (while under FP 2000) are also showing up in the root directory along with the subweb. Is this normal or could this be part of the problem?     - LAYERING I built a site banner and the cells to hold the pics. In the center of the banner I have a 45 degree line, about 30 pixels thick, going from left to right. In the upper right area I'm trying to add a flash movie of fading pictures but don't want the pictures to show up on top of the line but behind it.     - Cant open site with frontpage When my site is open (Internet Explorer) I click on the FP icon to open my site. Frontpage opens and ask for user and pass. I enter and get this message. "An error occurred accessing your frontpage web files. Authors - if authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for this server's site. WebMasters - please see the server's log for more details." I already talked to (Godaddy) and got no where with them. This being going on for some time now. I really need help here please. I unwisely copied my web files to disk and then back again
and now FrontPage won't look on my hard drive for them.
I'm getting an "unable to find file:///" error message.
How can I correct this problem?
