 - The file " " is not found in the current web I am not able to point to a folder as a hyperlink. If I point to a file within that folder, the link works. Can anybody help me point to the folder itself so the user can then pick which file to choose?  - text box Java Link I would like to make an entry text box on the shared left border of my site that allows my customers to enter in a specific code I give them. When they enter in the 6 digit code, they immediately go to the specific page that I made for them. Only by submitting the code can they see the information on the page I made for them. How do I make this text box and this button that will link to the page that I made for a specific code?  - buffer on one side only of picture Is there a way to say "leave a buffer of x amount on the right side of a picture" rather than "Leave a horizontal buffer of x amount on both sides of a picture"? I end up wasting so much space if, for instance, I want a picture in the left corner but a buffer on the right of the picture. Can't figure out how to avoid space on the left side too in that case.  - FP 2000 DRW can I change the labels? Hello I'm hoping someone can help. I want to create a web directory. I am used to working with FrontPage 2000 and Access 2000. Before I start this new project I would just like to clarify a few points; 1) When you visit a search engine or directory the results are always listed something like this; Result Pages: [ 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 ] >> FP 2000 does not display the results in this fashion. As you will see it is slightly different from the norm, because someone about a year ago helped me change it from the frontpage client group.  - Format for AUTORUN.INF FrontPage 2002 - Windows XP Professional I wish to make a disk-based web to distribute on CD. How do I make an AUTORUN CD which holds my disk-based web and starts automatically under Internet Explorer when the CD is inserted? I've created a file called AUTORUN.INF which contains OPEN=INTRODUCTION.HTM (plus the Icon name; the Icon seems to work). (1) When I insert the CD it blinks a little and quits. (2) When I double-click the CD icon in My Computer Windows XP complains that INTRODUCTION.HTM is not a legitimate application. (3) When I explore the CD and double-click INTRODUCTION.HTM myself the disk-based web starts up and runs great. How do I get this to happen when I simply insert the CD? Thanks much for any help.  - 2 probs - DHTML & shared borders My stats - FP 2000, Earthlink hosting w/ FP server extensions installed www.stevegibb.com, viewing on IE 5.5 My two problems: 1- I have DHTML FX programmed onto pictures of the homepage. I did one several months ago & that one works. Others I added today in the same manner & they do not work. How can I fix? 2 - I have shared borders (bottom) selected and written for all pages. They show up in Normal and Preview of FP, but do not show on the published pages. I have tried recalculating hyperlinks and republishing as suggested by others, but they still are not there.  - Stalls during Insert Hyperlink Hi, FYI: FrontPage 2002 on a new Windows pc running XP. Recently I've started getting a FrontPage Not Responding message when I try to copy a url into the Insert Hyperlink box. It happens about 50% of the time. I get an hour-glass that won't go away. I need to either restart my computer or occasionally shut off my computer to be able to access FP again. It happens on three different computers using different copies of FrontPage 2002 software. When viewed in IE default text size it does not change point size but if you change the text size in IE to smaller or larger the text size varies from paragraph to paragraph.  - Database access problems...more info from last post I reported earlier not being able to access Frontpage's database functions. Evidently, there is a problem with the ODBC library. I received this message: Server error: The Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) library is not available on the Web server. Another message: No acceptable external database drivers were located.  - How do I put Access 2000 reports onto a web site I have a database with complex reports (graphs, boxes and lines, subforms, etc) which users want to run, convert into something usable on the web and put on a web site. They don't want the database on the web yet (later on this year - that's another project I will need help with then) but they want to select parameters, generate reports, then put the reports on the web site. Or even better, have the web site look at the database, choose the paramteres, and create the reports on the fly. The critical part is that they HAVE to look the same as they do now.  - FrontPage won't let me access database functions. I am trying to link my website to an access database file, but seem to have some problem. When I got to access the database selection from the menu bar (from Insert), it is not highlighted. I've checked my installed components and everything seems okay.  - Folders view problem I am new to FrontPage 2002 and working with the book Step by Step. The view of the web files in folders view shows no information or titles under "Contents of C:\XXXX". The book shows a picture that displays the contents of the Web site in Folders view. I have no information there except little squares. I have tried openning my own web page and I get the same view. There should be Name, Title, Size, Type, etc. (Those names are not on the bars, they are blank.) I hope I am clear on this. I am using Windows XP Professional.  - Change default file location When I open the Folder List or Navigation Pane, FP default to the C: drive. All my files are on a different drive (M:). How do I change where FP looks for my files??  - spamming thru my front page e-mail Unless I pay $550, I am getting kicked off my site because somebody got into my site e-mail and used it to spam 1400 names not related to my site.  - Changing a frame's target URL I have 2 frames in my web page, the second of which I would like to use to navigate through a number of other web pages(on disk for the moment).  - Error message when uploading I am trying to do my web page have have not been able to get it to work right...  - Using Database result in form I have a quick question from a Newbie. I would like to use a value returned from a database query as a variable in a form. Here's the scenario: I query the database to find the highest value for my record [Select RequestNumber from Results Where Key= (Select Max(key) From Results)]. That gives me a result called RequestNumber which I would then like to increment and use as a variable when I add a new record. Namely RequestNumber + 1 would be the next record to add.  - discussion group "framed" page i've created a discussion group on my page using FP2002. everything seems to work fine except for the contents page which i think is a "framed" page. on the web page, when i click on the contents page it opens a small section (frame) at the top and above the previous page and I can't get rid of it by clicking on any other link. It just stays there at the top of every page. How do I get this "framed" page to un-frame or how do i create a link that will open the rest of my pages without this "framed" page?  - photogallery display problems Greetings all; I created a website (www.geocities.com/barbbrahmstedt) using Frontpage 2002 that contains several photogalleries on different pages. The site was working perfectly - displaying all thumbnails as expected and displaying enlargements as expected - until I recently rebuilt the entire site. During the rebuild I deleted all files from the ftp server and then copied all new fles from the new site back to the server. Since then, the pages will load okay and all picture that are not part of a photogallery display properly but the photogalleries are not functioning. The first picture in the gallery (slideshow format) shows up in the enlargement space but none of the thumbnails appear. Clicking on the thumbnail placeholders will not change the enlarged image. I noticed that when I developed my original site I had files called Thumbs.db scattered throughout the site. With this new build, these files were not generated. A year has passed since I originally built the site so there's probably something I'm just forgetting to do but I'll be darned if I can figure out what!  - Creating Templates and Updating Navigation Bars I'm creating a new web from scratch and I'm running into some problems. The website I have created will be 4 levels + the homepage. I have created my own templates for each page and the homepage. Each page has basic information in the left nav bar that will change every 6-8 months. When I update my nav bars, I want to only update one page. In Dreamweaver, I use to update only my server side include page and every page that had a server side include would update. I know MF2002 must have a tool similar to Dreamweavers SSI. I was told by one individual that I should create my template, and just "Insert/File" into a blank page and this would solve my problem. I tried it but when I went back and changed the template, the change didn't appear in the new page. Please help because i have been banging my head for the last two weeks!!!!!!!!!!!! I am running Win 98 SE and FrontPage 2002. I just started
getting the message that Frontpage 2002 will not start, do
you want to send an error report. Then the offer to start
in safe mode, but that fails, then the offer to detect and
fix problems, that completes but Frontpage 2002 still will
not start. I even inserted the CD and reinstalled
Frontpage and it still will not start.

Has anyone seen this or have any suggestions?

Have you tried the usual repairs
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Install all the latest Service Patches for your OS, IE and MS Office
