    - Link Bars I am running Frontpage 2002. I am a beginner when it comes to frontpage. I am trying to create a webpage. I inserted a blank page and changed the theme to Topo. I added link bars to match the pages theme. I added the links to the link bars by clicking on the button that takes you to the internet and allows you to go to the page you want to link to. The links work fine but the pictures for the buttons do not display. I have an x displaying where the pictures are supposed to. The location I saved my index.htm file is not in the default location. i saved it to another location on my computer. After that, I used some wsftp software to transfer the index file and the gif files associated with it to a folder on my computer at work. After I noticed all of this, I opened the file on my computer at home and where the link bars are supposed to be it says [The link bar feature is not available in this web]. I have no idea how to fix this. Could some please help me. Please expalin it like you would to a dummy because I am not that familiar with frontpage.     - Banner question Is it possible to selectively turn off a page banner on just one or two pages in FP2000? Normally I like the banner (where FP takes the page title and puts it up top with the style artwork) but sometimes it looks better without it.     - Help needed - characters have changed to Question marks When I view my web page in Internet Explorer, characters such as TM (Alt+0153) © (Alt+0169) ® (Alt+0174) all show as question marks (?).     - SAVING Microsoft WORD file as webpage - looks like crap after loading to website I have been saving various MS WORD documents as WEBPAGES, but the results are less terrible.     - FrontPage 2000 & JPG Photos I have FrontPage 2000 and have developed a webpage that contains several pages, but specifically one that contains several JPG pictures. When I go to INSERT these pictures and go to the folder where they are located, click on the one that I want and it usually pops right into the webpage. Every now and then, I can do this and a perfectly good jpg photo will show up as a tiny box with a red "x" in it. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong and how to fix this.??? I have a form that preselects the user's previous selection on return to the ASP page, but it only works as long as no database is involved. Works great posting to "Other" or "ASP" but as soon as the post is to a database the code stops working.     - A preselect dropdown routine not working with database I'm using a bit of Javascript to pre-select the Select item from a dropdown, based on the user's previous choice, and it worked fine as long as I was just posting to "other", but it won't work on posts to my database. It just returns the default rather than the previously selected choice.     - background graphics When I publish my website I have 2 problems: 1. I was using a faded background theme. When I publish and go to the website the fade is seperated into blocky layers.     - Guest Book troubles I'm using FrontPage 2002. I have attempted to install the guest book form that comes with MS Frontpage to my web site. It unfortunately doesn't work yet. The guest book form collects the information but does not either forward it to the 'Guestlog.htm' page that FrontPage created to receive it or has failed to link the two or is just failing to attach and then display the Guestlog page? I have no idea what's wrong. The instructions seemed so easy. Just put the guest book form on a page and Frontpage would do the rest. Obviously, I'm not seeing something or perhaps I should have set some conditions or parameters in some properties box etc., thereby linking the two.     - FP 2000 and Corrupted Files Hi, I just installed 4 new asp/html programs on my FrontPage 2000 site. The company that makes them insisted that they need to be FTPed, rather than imported through FP, so FP wouldn't "change the code". I do use FTP at times, and it doesn't cause any problems, so I did it. Everything was OK, and I was trying to get the correct permissions set on the folders. I hadn't opened anything in FP or Notepad (default for ASP pages), only in my browser. Suddenly, one of the four (interconnected) programs had broken images, some pages pointing to a messed-up url (so did the images), and one of the pages lost it's formatting (it's tables, it seems). I reinstalled the program, and eventually reinstalled them all. The other 3 were ok, until suddenly the very same things started happening on another of the programs. *After* it happened, I recalculated the hyperlinks. No change. I reinstalled the programs. No change. I recalculated again. Nothing. The company that makes the programs are trying to blame it on FrontPage, and it's re-writing of code. They have gone in, and say that the urls in html template pages have been changed. That could explain the bad urls, but not the lost formatting. Plus, I know FP can change code under certain conditions, but I've never heard of it changing a url! I am having my ISP check the FP extensions, although everything else seems to be working fine. I have another new little asp program. You enter your email address, choose an option button, and press submit. You go to a page that redirects you, based on which option you chose. What is happening is that you go to the redirect page, and stay there, and it is blank. You shouldn't see the redirect page, except maybe for a quick second. Could the 2 problems be inter-related?     - Database Wizard I am using FrontPage 2003, XP Pro with a Win 2000 Server. I want to attach a small db to a site I designed in FrontPage 2003. I'm sure once this is done I will need to connect that db to another, releated one. The first one is allow a visitor, once the transaction is complete, to leave comments about a particular transaction he/she made. The second one is to retain the comments by the visitor so that a prospective purchaser could look up all the comments left by any visitor who had been converted into a purchaser. The second one has not been started yet and can't be until the other one is running properly. After that, I'm sure my boss will want me to add links between the two. Does anyone have a suggestion(s) on where to get started? Does FP 2003 have built-in functionality or is this something that has to be "custom made"? Is there a piece of software, book or tutorial that vould take me from start to finish, or one to get me started? Finally, please give me a reasonable amount of actual man hours you think it would take someone with no experience to complete this project. My boss asked asked me that question and I am trying to give him an accurate estimate. I have a full-time job at this company but do small non-commercial Webs as a sideline.     - Borders getting changed to "none, default" Working with FrontPage 2002. I'm trying to add borders to a site that didn't use them. I set up top and bottom borders, and they look good. Then I used a text editor outside of FrontPage to walk the site and add the meta name "Microsoft Border" with content="tb, default" to every page in the site. However, when I open the pages in FrontPage, they are set back to "none, default". So I tried doing it the old fashioned way page by page, adding the meta name thru FrontPage's File->Properties->custom- >user variables. The page would display okay, but when I saved it, closed it, and reopened the page, it is again set back to "none, default". Any ideas how to get FrontPage to stop resetting this meta name? Thanks! On the Sharepoint Home Page each of the various sections has a hyperlink to Add new "whaterver", Announcement, Event, etc... I want to remove that hyperlink. I know it can be done because I have seen other Sharepoint Team sites where it doesn't show. If I right click the ListView element and View Properties there are some things there that effect the menu bar but the choices are either a Summary, Full, or None menubar. I would like to use either summary toolbar but with the Add New "whatever" hyperlink removed. Could someone point me to a definitve source on this subject. I have been searching for several days and haven't found anything yet. So far I have found some general information but nothing as specific as I am needing. I appreciate any and all help. I have a run-of-the-mill feedback form in my web site,
which works, as far as I know.

I don't have a cgi-bin directory.

What's going on here? Am I missing something? I'm
worried that people are trying to contact us and it's not
working for them.

That's probably just people looking for non existent files. cgi files are a favorite target of
hackers.
