Good Morning,

I would like to Test a web page that email information to ur customers.
Usually in order for me to text this page I woulf have to upload it to the
server to see if it works. I would like to know if I could do it on my
localhost? I'm using Windows XP Pro and Frontpage 2003. Yes i have the
Prontpage consolse. What do I need to do to send email thru my localhost??
Thanks in advance

You would need a mail server on your WinXP Pro.

It'd be a whole lot easier to just test your email on the real server
instead of fiddling around trying to get a mailserver on localhost.

Mail servers are by their very nature located on a host/remote server.

You can use the extensions on the remote server to test email. Make sure
the host has configured the extensions to do so on your account.

If you want to test locally, you must go through the effort of doing a
serious amount of research as to how to purchase a mail server program and
how to properly set it up and configure on a local machine. However, a
local mail server and a remote mail server are two different things, so you
would still have to test the remote server to make sure everything is
working properly.
