Hi,

How do we set up mail in FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 ?

I understand that there is a section for mail settings for which it contains
SMTP mail server, from address, and reply-to address and so on. But I have
two questions:

(1) My SMTP server requires log-in and can it be done from here, as I don't
see where can I put into the password,

(2) What is the default encoding and default character set, and how do I
find out what is the default setting in the system?

Many thanks in advance.

The extensions cannot log into a SMTP server that requires
authorisation.
You will need an alternative, such as server-side scripting solution
(asp, asp.net etc), or an alternative SMTP configuration..

Hi,

Thanks as I though it would be. I will change to another SMTP if possible.
