    - Multilanguage sites ( & CSS ?) Hello, I would like to create a multilanguagesite wihout taking care of the navigation problems. So that once the language is choosen, the user can navigate in their own language. For the moment I have for each language to change the header footer, left pan etc... Is it possible with javascript to have something like include left_&USerLanguage instead of left_fr left_en left_it etc .... Any idea or site where this is implemented is welcome. Thanks.     - Form data not saved to existing database I've got an existing Access database that works fine with an existing form. I added a new table to the database and then created a new form. I matched the form fields to the fields in the database table and then published the site. When I enter data with the browser I get the confirmation page, but no data is actually entered in the table. The more I play with forms the more I'm seeing that the only way to every get them to work is create the form first and then let FP create the database. Nothing else ever seems to work.     - New HTA- are Iframes the answer? Hi! OK, I admit it, I am a newbie coder but very much a techie generalist. If you keep it to a medium level, I will probably understand you. Even links would be useful. I have undertaken the task of creating an HTA application in Front Page out of about 60 movies rendered by Camtasia Studio and protected by MS DRM. The rendering converts the movies from AVI to WMV, and creates a graphical index of each movie using jscript in an HTML based file, with an imbedded Windows Media Player. Guess what? HTA conversion on the Front Page shell I'm building is NOT causing a problem with the usability and viewing of these pages within the HTA main window!!! YIPPEE! What I cannot seem to do is add the necessary browser/page navigation controls to the movie htm file in order to go back to the prior list of movies. In this situation, the user would have to close the application then restart it to navigate to a different movie. Not really the "user experience" I want. So is this the case for an IFrame? (whattever that is) I want the GUI to look non-browser, which is why I used the NAVIGABLE property of HTA:APPLICATION One other thing- I can display any Adobe PDF's I want, as long as I don't want to display them in my HTA main window. I just get the horrible goobletygook that tells me something is very very wrong. However, I can use the context menu and display in a new window (with all the associated browser warnings).     - form question I created a form on my website for customers to request a brochure, included name address state and zip then the submit button. When I used it on firefox it worked, when I used it on msn it sent the email with no contents.     - Streaming media Further arlier post I have installed the windows media player plug in into Frontpage. I find this is an entirely satisfactory way to get most website viewers listening to music on the site. I do have a problem with it though, in that when I go through the wizard it embeds the player (invisibly in this case as I don't need it for video) but as a cell of rather large proportions which I can't resize down to nothing. Better still if I don't actually need to have window for it at all, so that it can play away in the background with no visual effect. As the invisible cell can't be written over it leaves a large vacant hole in the page which can't be used for anything else.     - Error when trying to make a web I'm using FP2000. I'm running Win2000 Some of my webs run fine when I browse with IE6 with the address http://localhost/test for example. But now when I try to make a web at http://localhost/newtest I get an error saying that "The web server at http://localhost does not appear to have the Frontpage server extensions installed. I had to reinstall office before so this probably messed it up. I've used the 3rd CD in the Office Premium set to install Office Server extensions and it said that the FP server extensions would be installed also. Any ideas on what I need to do? Thank you.     - *Very* simple page layout problem I want to create a page with the following attributes: 4 "panels" - One top left and square for site logo, one top panel for page title, one left panel for menu stuff and one large main panel for the main body text of the page. e.g. _________________________ | | | |____|____________________| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |____|____________________| I want the above layout to take up the full page (i.e. 100% width and 100% height). The menu side panel will be a fixed width, the top title panel will be a fixed height and the logo square panel will have fixed height and width. I can manage to get the above to work using tables but it leaves a approx 1cm gap on the left hand side of the page. Would I be better using divs or tables for this layout?     - Database doesn't work Hi to all, Can anyone help me out with the following,; I created a website locally with a msAccess database stored in /FPDB within the website, and some DBresultpages to get the data displayed. It all works fine, local that is. Now according to my ISP i have to FTP the site to my domain and it should work, ASP is enabled on the server. However, when i open up an DBRpage (with .asp ext.) i keep getting the following message: GROEP Database Results Wizard Error The operation failed. If this continues, please contact your server administrator. So i contacted my ISP and he resetted my account, (things like this have always worked b4) I also browsed the microsoft website for this and can't seem to get it working In my opinion something must be 'wrong' with the global.asa file and/or the files in the _fpclass dir. My ISP doesn't seem to be competent enough to help me out, maybe anyone around here knows a solution for this.     - Fixed page width Hello, I am creating a website for my company's intranet with frontpage 2003. I imported some excel sheets and use some frames. Most of the pc's here use resolution 1152x864, so i want the width not to be bigger than this. At the moment there is a scroll bar in the bottom of my browser windows, but if i scroll right there is no text nor images. Can i set the width to a fixed setting? When I select several pages, and search the HTML, the option to "replace all" is grayed out. It will find them all, but won't replace. I have to open each individual page to replace.     - Upgrade from IIS 4.0 to IIS 6.0 Changed FrontPage actions. Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I don't see a Frontpage.General so I'll give it a try. Our intranet server (NT 4.0 + IIS 4.0)died a while ago and we decided it was tiem to upgrade it. We built the new server with Windows Server 2003 + IIS 6.0 with all the latest updates. We kept the Server name and the IP address the same as the old server. We copied the contents of the old web to the wwwroot folder and everything came up ok. The only complaint I am getting from the group that updates the intranet pages, is they are being asked to 'save as' once they make their updates. I guess they use IE to browse to the page they want to edit then they click the FrontPage 2003 button to edit it. Once they are finished editing the page, they click the save button in Frontpage and it asks them to 'Save As' instead of just saving it. If they open the web directly from frontpage it works fine. What goes wrong: When I insert the database results I have no problem, however, when I change the query (that works in access) it gives me an error as follows; Database Results Error Your page contains a query with user input parameters that could not be resolved.     - FPDB...how safe is it? Hi, I'm building a website with an Access database, since i can't seem to figure out how to point to a DSN ( i got that from my provider) in frontpage, i'm afraid i'll have to use the folder FPDB and let frontpage automatically create the 'global.asa'. It works, i can "FTP" the site from local to my Int.domain. My question is, How safe or secured is my .mdb file in that folder? How easy or hard is it for anyone to 'download' the .mdb file to their harddisc. And if it is "that" easy then does anbody have any idea how to prevent this.     - CDONTS error returns have found a ton of examples for setting up a "Send to a Friend" e-mail form using CDONTS but not one of them addresses error returns.     - Can't fix a liquid designed page I created a new page with a liquid design at autoloadingduplicators.com/page3.html. The result looks fine on my screen at a resolution of 1280 x 1024. However, when I view the page from another computer with the display set at a resolution of 800 x 600, the far right column moves outside of the intended boundry and the text becomes distorted. How do you get a drop-down box to show nothing as the first selection/choice,
rather than defaulting to the first on on the list of choices? Thanks!

You can make the first choice a blank one (put in a non-breaking space), or
you might want to make the first choice "Choose One".
