    - Cant save changes I have had difficulty in saving the changes made to my hyperlinks. After putting in the relevant path to pages in my site (facepainting.htm) it will not save this as a change and reverts back to C:\\Myweb/mimicks/facepainting.htm. When i upload the links are not working as the link is being directed to my hard drive and not the web page. I managed to save the changes by doing it in My Network Places http:\\mimicks.co.uk and the changes were saved there but they were not saved in Mywebs. My host recommends that i import my web site and save. Should i do this. Is there anything i can do to save the hyperlink changes that i make in Mywebs. Someine please help and advise.     - Password Protection Validation Message Hello: I need to password protect a certain page from within my web site. I added a password field to the form on my home page (http://www.sliaa.com/default2.htm) and set the validation so that your are required to enter a specific password (in this case, sliaa). It works great, except that when you don't enter the right password, you get an error message that tells you what you need to enter (thereby rendering the password futile). How can I change the verbiage in the message to simply say something to the effect of 'Please enter correct password'? Instead f revealing to people what we are trying to keep from them.     - help with query! hello! In an ACCESS database I have a table with an autonumber field, I need to know the value generated for the autonumber field everytime I post a new record to the table. How can I do that? I suposse this is a very basic question but I'm new to access. The database will be accessed by multiple users at the same time and I cannot query the last record of the table to find out the autonumber assigned for it's possible that a new record has been entered by other user in the meantime.     - Oracle Tables I am attempting to connect to Oracle tables using Frontpage 2000 through an ODBC connection. I can set up the database connection fine but when I ask it to show me the available tables the drop-down list only shows me a few of the available tables but not the ones I need. Is there a limit in this list or something? I tried to use a query statement but it then tells me that the table or view I am looking for does not exist. Any ideas? Thanks!!     - Re fphover I have a problem regarding fphover-classes. In some Swedish Internet Explorer (the latest update and all) fphover-buttons doesn't show, they are just marked as a broken link. The strange thing is that it's not in all Swedish browsers, just all the new computers with fresh installations of Windows XP. Is it a matter of security in the browser or what can be wrong? Thanks!     - Compare and synchronise Database files I have two web sites both using the same datbase and both are accessed by a different group of people. What I need to be able to do is synchronise the two Acess Database files to automatically update the one with the oldest 'date and time of modified' so as to keep both files mirrored.     - Sync Web Site Hello. I am using Frontpage 2000 on Windows XP. Works fine. The other day I had to FTP in from another location thank where my Frontage resides and make a change to the web site. No problem worked fine. However, now when I make a change with Frontpage, I wants to overwrite my change I made with an older file version on my frontpage computer.     - Frontpage & MS Access DB I have suddenly run into a problem saving data into an Access Database. The form has worked in the past but now it "Acts" as if it's working by reporting the correct response form "ie: not an error response" but the data does not save into the table. I am fairly familiar with FP and Access so I beleive I have checked everything. ALSO, I tried "creating" a NEW database right from Frontpage. It created fine and link it's "results" table but still won't save the data. ANY HELP would be very much appreciated. Could it have something to do with the FP Extensions?     - How to use JavaScript with FP form Hello: I want to use a JavaScript function that validates the e-mail address in FP form. This works great with any non-FP form. In Fronpage, however, I have these problems: If I use it like with the regular form: onsubmit="return emailCheck(this.Email.value)" - it doesn't work; If I use it like this: webbot-onSubmit="return emailCheck(this.email.value);return FrontPage_Form1_Validator(this)" - it works, but any other validation doesn't. If I change the order like this: webbot-onSubmit="return FrontPage_Form1_Validator(this); return emailCheck(this.email.value)" - all other validations works, but my function doesn't.     - The Sever Connection Timed Out Hi, All I want to do is synchronise my mdb online with the one on my local host. It is 1.25meg. I do not want to always have to use a separate ftp client to do this. Why can't FP03 transfer files this large? There doesn't seem to be any patches available for FP03 yet to resolve this issue?     - onload auto click of Submit button in short this is what i want to achieve. an 'onload auto submit' this is what i want it for. i use a intranet at work, when staff visit a page it already has the files selected depending no how it is that has visited, all i want is for the page to auto click the GO button, to save then doing it. how do i have a page auto click this button? maybe something on the lines of <onload ....> ?? these files are agendas and each person has only interest in some, so using cookies i have set up what ones they want and when the open the page it then downloads the files the want and not all of them, i am trying to save time sending out emails to everyone with just the doc's they want, this is very time consuming. so hence the script to do it. all i need is to have a bit in there in the form part to auto execute it, or SEND when the page is looked at. thanks in advance.     - Unable to send form results to an email Hello~ I am currently using Frontpage 2002, running IIS 5.0, Win2K. I'm pretty familiar with FP, but have had some problems having the form results sent to an email. I can set up the form to have the results send to a database, but that's it. Now the form is set up to e-mail results when it's submitted - however when I save the form, we get the following FP error message: ---------------------- This form is being created on a disk based web or the FrontPage server extensions have not been configured to send e- mail ...etc... Would you like to remove the e-mail recipient? yes/no ----------------------- Properties of the form are set correctly and as far as I can tell, SMTP Services and FrontPage extensions are installed correctly and set up for e-mail to indicate the correct SMTP Server and email addressses to be used. IN addition to the problem saving the form discussed above, whenever the form page is accessed by a visitor (or through a browser locally) it shows a line that says "[FrontPage Save Results Component]" at the top of the form, and whenever the form is submitted, the user gets the following error message: ------------- FrontPage Run-Time Component Page You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly. This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed. Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page. ------------------ I have already done the following: Re-created the form.     - tracking counterS on 1 page I would like to display the .cnt file(s) info from 6 (working) counters onto 1 page. All the counters (& files) are within 1 site. When I use inline frames, iframe does not want to display the counter file info in the frame, I'm prompted to 'open' or 'save' only. (ie; 'index.htm.cnt' wants to open rather than display on the page). I cannot find a way to change the saved counter file extention and would rather not copy to local.     - FP2003 - Form / Query Problem Hi Im new to this so please bear with me ...... I have created a form in FP 2003 which adds records to an .mdb file. When the user submits the form, I want the confirmation page to show not only the detail that has been submitted but also the record number, user name and IP address of the users computer. I decided (rightly or wrongly) that the best option would be to put a basic query onto the confirmation page which shows the latest record added for that user or IP, thus showing the user what he had just added and also giving him a record number should he need to chase his request. The problem is, I do not seem to be able to retrieve the user name at all. This is not even posted when the user submits the form even though I have requested the user name. The IP address is added, so I wanted the query to compare the current users IP address with that of the records in the file, thereby displaying to the user the latest record for his IP. I cannot however figure out how to retrieve the IP address from the users computer to compare against the database records.     - FP 2003 applet preview does not work -- why downgrade? I have spent literally hours trying to find how to get FP 2003 preview mode to properly display. Finally, I found KB 323236, which says YOU CAN'T. This was also a problem in FP 2002, and MS didn't fix it. I am glad I still have a copy of FP 2000 to reinstall after removing FP 2003. My question is: why downgrade to Office 2003 components that don't work when Office 2000 components have more functionality.     - Link bar with subdirectories I am trying to figure out how to in MS Frontpage 2002 how to have a website that has link bar buttons when you hover over them with the mouse that a subdirectory opens that has a list of all the subsequent pages that that page links to.     - Music on web site In the past, I have placed music on my web site using *.ram and a *.rm files. The *.ram file is a metafile created by a text editor and the *ram file is created by Real Producer.     - help with code! Hello! The scenario: I have a .asp page that contains a form with a database results component. The database result is a query that will return cercain amount of records from an access database. The question: How can I make the form to show different buttons depending on the amount of records returned by the query? In other words, if the query returns no records I need to show BUTTON_A; if the query returns 1 record I need to show BUTTON_B; if the query returns 2 records I need to show BUTTON_C and so on... Import the file into a location in your
web, link to it like any other file.
You might name the link "Click to download"

Publish.
