    - Replace entire published web? How do I? I have a published web, and I've entirely recreated it. How do I replace the published one with the new one? If I simply "publish" the new web, won't that leave all the old (now unused) pages/files? Do I open the already published web through FrontPage, and delete everything?     - Form Creation I am trying to create a form within my website that will require a password to access a message board. In other words, I only want to allow users who identify themselves to go beyond the page.     - Error 404 I have modified our company website recently. I have had many problems with publishing and had finally thought I was going to be able to publish, but after the website transfered completely I got Error message 404.     - problem publishing to the web Let me start by letting you know that I am using FrontPage 2000 with winXP. I am new to using FrontPage and creating web pages. I created a personal web page and I am having a problem publishing my site to the server. I have webspace available through my ISP, Cox cable. I followed the instructions given by FrontPage and by Cox's website (http://support.cox.net/custsup/personal_pages/instructions.shtml) and it appears that I was able to publish it no problem. Through Cox's website I am able to see that the files are indeed on their server. When I try to view my website though, http://members.cox.net/jamesclery/, I just get a screen with info on getting started, the same thing I got before I published it. Cox does support FrontPage and I have activated FrontPage server extensions. Also once I publish the pages I get a dialog box in FrontPage with a link to view my site. When I select the link, I am asked to log in and then I get a page with all of the files and folders that I published, but not a web page. The address is also listed as FTTP: (or ftp:) instead of http:. I have know idea what the problem could be and being inexperienced with creating and publishing WebPages I have no idea where to start troubleshooting. Cox's tech support for this is of no help at all. If anyone can help or point me in the right direction for troubleshooting I would appreciate it, maybe someone else who has a personal web page with Cox cable. Tag: AOL Display Problem Tag: 20970

    - Blank link bars. On the bottom of my web site, home page two of the several link bars are blank with only the link page and a red "X" in the upper left corner. They do not have the theme formatting for some reason. This same problem exists on the third page of my site with one link. These links work properly the just do not look proper. Any suggestions.     - new at database with frontpage. hello, i'm new at using a database with frontpage. i've used frontpage for a while though. i've searched for something like a tutorial for using databases, but to no avail. i am helping a friend with a webpage. he wants to start a VA (Virtual Airline) and he doesn't know anything about webpages and coding. i said i would do it, and i thought using a database for storing pilot names, IDs, hours, ranks, and stuff like that would be easier than anything else. if one person or a couple people can collaborate on a way to teach me what to do to make it work. the website will have a page where the pilot will submit their hours flown for that flight they were scheduled for, and have a page to show all the pilots active how many hours, and their ranks and stuff. i have a database started with a table and form, but no query. also, if the page is going to show the pilots, how can i have it not show inactive pilots? thanks for anybody who helps me and reads this very lengthy post.     - Permissions hello, Sorry for the cross-post, but I didn't know where to post. I've got two subwebs that I wanted to change permissions on. I had gone to Tools | Permissions and selected from the webpage that the permissions were unique.     - Can't access Excel from FrontPage I access an excel 'database' from a FrontPage based web. When I publish to my own (inhouse)server all works OK. When I publish to the external webserver, it can't access the spreadsheet. I keep getting errors. "Data source name not found and no default driver specified". I tried opening the page in Frontpagefrom the public server rather than my PC. Worked OK, but when I tried to edit the database connection in Frontpage, I got an error:- "The database results region cannot be edited because the Frontpage database features are not available on this web." When I tried to verify the database connection, it came back with:- "The Frontpage database features are not available for one of the following reasons: The web administrator may have disabled them; your server is running an older version of Frontpage Server Extensions; or the Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) component may not be installed on the web server. Please contact your database administrator." I understand that MS Frontpage (Version 2000 and after) is supposed to set up all the database connections itself, although it needs the ODBC and ADO options installed.     - Using Webalizer; all referrers are from links on my own website I know this is not a specific FrontPage question, but I also know that many of you FrontPage publishers use hosts that offer Webalizer in your stats package. I use the host Ipowerweb. For some reason, all my referrers are from links on my own website instead of links from other websites. For example, my number one referrer is the hyperlinked gif that I use to let users return to the homepage. The Ipowerweb support says this is normal, but I know it is not. The Webalizer on my last host always showed referrers that came from other websites. I would think Ipowerweb has some command line option set wrong or not set at all. I loaded the drop-down with strings, and gave each item a value that is a page name. I use no FP services except the shared borders. I want to get rid of various "extra" directories etc that FP 2002 routinely makes that I understand have something to do with the FP Extensions. I want the cleanest FP code I can get, code that is the least Frontpage-ized. And I do not want to switch to Dreamweaver, thanks.
