    - problem with recordset state Hi, I have a page that loads 2 calendars from which the user chooses a starting date and an ending date; on click of the submit button those values are used in a query to return a small resultset on the same page. On the line where I validate whether the recordset is BOF or EOF I get this error: ADODB Recordset Error Operation is not allowed when the object is closed. Even right after the line where I open the recordset I check its state and it says 0. I can't see what i'm doing wrong. I thought maybe it was something to do with opening the results in the same page, so I created a test page to send the results there, just to see if it would work, it still doesn't work however I get a different error and it's on the line where I open the recordset: ADODB Recordset Error Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another.     - FP survey page I put a FrontPage survey page into my website and it doesn't work. When you hit submit a message page appears that says that it can't run Frontpage extensions. The page is located at http://www.caes.state.ct.us/aquaticplants/request_survey_lk.htm I let Front Page put the survey in, the only thing I changed was the text so I can't figure out why it isn't working.     - Inserted symbols and site publishing errors. When I publish a web site from local to www or visa versa, many of my ' and - become ?. I then have to go through all the pages and manually change the ? marks to either a single quote ' or a dash -. Also, when I try to insert a symbol, it looks fine in my FP 2003 editor and preview but when I look at the actual web site, it looks like Japanese. Any ideas?     - Active Home Page I have been trying to produce an intranet for the past few months for a small company. I'm almost there with it - it has some ASP, some JavaScript and about 18 HTML pages. What I need help on right now is this. They want to be able to have a very short, two sentences maybe, Daily Notice on the home page of the intranet. They will not have anyone there who can amend the intranet on a frequent basis, so I thought I would try to do something like having a text file which they can easily update and copy into the right directory on the server and although I can do this using INCLUDE PAGE on an ASP page and picking up the text and dumping it into a <div> </div> with scroll bars - I cannot seem to be able to think of a way of doing it on the index.htm home page as this is not and ASP page. Is there any way in HTML to be able to read the contents of a text file into the browser or can anyone suggest a better way of having this Daily Notice type of thing work with current text on the home page of the intranet?     - Horizontal Line Properties I know that I have done this before on other websites, but for some reason I cannot seem to be able to change the properties of the horizontal rule in my Front Page Theme. All I want to do is change the thickness and the color. I have gone into the theme settings and tried to change the color but when I return to the main screen in the themes it reverts back to the black color.     - Frontpage Query I am not an expert but have used the query wizard alot. I have a field in a database. The filed name is "Module". It is a text field. I am using the wizard to find only records where "Module" = "Pricing". I have selected the fields to be displayed, set the criteria to Modual equals Module and set the default of Module to "Pricing".     - FP2003 SQL ignoring values passed through hyperlink I wonder if anyone can help with a minor issue I am having with FP2003 and the DBRW. I have a DBR on an ASP page that takes a value generated in a previous page and displays records based on the variables passed through a hyperlink. The DBR uses the following code: SELECT DISTINCTROW Dial.Date, Sum(Dial.Cost) AS [Sum Of Cost], Count(*) AS [Count Of Dial] FROM Dial WHERE (((Format$([Dial].[Date],'mmmm yyyy'))="::MONTHYEAR::")) GROUP BY Dial.Date, Year([Dial].[Date])*12+DatePart('m',[Dial].[Date])-1; The value for the variable MONTHYEAR is normally in the format: APRIL 2005. When I hyperlink to the page the value is passed through, I have confirmed that the MONTHYEAR field has been populated by displaying the value via a VB script. The DBR returns the following error: Database Results Wizard Error Your page contains a query with user input parameters that could not be resolved. This could happen if your DatabaseRegionStart webbot has an empty or missing s-columnnames or s-columntypes attributes. You may need to read Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 817029.     - FP Glitch #2? Has anyone heard of this? You have FP open, and are working on your web. Then all of a sudden, you look for the index.asp page, and it is gone. Only 2 ways that I know of to get it back. One is to click tools, then web settings.. then uncheck show hidden files.. then check it back again..thus reseting the web. The other way is to close FP, then reopen it to your web, and the index page will reappear. And oh.. i have FP 2002. Anyone else see this?? or is it just me?     - Help!!! Database Results Using Access 2000 with FP2003. I have a results field established on web site form, and works correctly. What I want to accomplish is I want to be able to select a userid (in drop down box) and upon selection be transfered (hyperlink?) to a specific/unique web page.     - Link bar in shared border Can someone help on this? Shared border is used on top, left and bottom. Theme is applied on all pages. Left border contains link bar and I set the style to use theme. Bottom border also contains link bar and I set the style to be: [ Home] [ page1] [page 2] [page 3] The problem is whenever I preview in browser, the bottom link bar become the theme one.     - How to handle a variable I have a login name stored in MS Access and use it to set a session variable when I log in. The field in the Db is 10 characters long. I cannot make a string variable and use it in a frontpage query to retrieve other information, as my actual info as stored in the session variable is only 7 positions long. Frontpage database results will not return data when it is set equal to the variable and using a LIKE returns everyone. I've tried using %'s in front and back, but cannot get frontpage to render up a recordset. How can I make this session variable that is 7 positions long appear to be 10, so frontpage will return data? And advice would be appreciated.     - how to fill the whole screen? I have been building a site with Frontpage on the basis of the standard pages (with a margin on the left to be used as index). The problem however is that when it is published in the browser that on the left and the right of the page I get a white space. Of course I can fill up this space with a colour, but what I really want is that publised page fills the whole screen.     - Shared Borders vs Dynamic Pages Hello, I'm new to FrontPage 2003 and I am having an issue with my shared borders. I wrote my entire website in FrontPage 2003 and included some pretty intense text as a top border with mouse-over drop down menues, etc. However, when I published the site, the borders are nowhere to be found. I've tried deleting the site and doing a new publish - doesn't work. I've checked to be sure I have the </body></html> in the text - it's their. I can view the borders and every page perfect within FrontPage 2003 but not when I publish it. Ideas? I talked to one person who suggested using the Include Page feature - but I have so many pages, and the links could change, it just seems like so much work. Another person suggested using Dynamic Pages - which I have never used before. I'm not sure how to get this all to work.     - Error in "Preview" only When I use the below script to ensure that new windows open maximized I get an error in Preview. Running in browser locally and on the server works fine. Also, if I click "Yes" or "No" on the error box the error goes away and it continues on fine after that. The reason I am using this is that I have a small popup window that is onloaded from the index page when entering the site. When I link to another page from the menu bar (after closing the popup) it comes up the same size as the popup. The code below fixes this but causes a javascript error in "preview" when I'm using Frontpage (2003). The URL on the error message is "file://C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir\pvw1.htm" and it says "Access is denied" Code 0. Maybe there is some way to return the screen size to maximized after the popup is closed??? Any ideas would be appreciated.     - Running VBA from a .htm page? Hello. As you'll see very quickly I am not a web programmer. One of my co-workers uses front page to create an intraweb site for the company. I wrote some code in vba that will open a word document and print specific pages from it. However, I mistakenly assumed that it would run like other vba modules (excel, word, etc.) and allow me to place a button on the page that will kick off my sub-routines. If it can do this, I would greatly appreciate someone telling me what I am missing. If not... how do I go about running macros in vba from a web page? Maybe I'm looking at it incorrectly.     - Double-clicking image in 2003 Using FP 2003 I remember double-clicking on an image to open it up in my photoeditor for editing. Now when I double-click an image that doesn't happen.     - Java script timer and ticker conflicting I've managed to get some code from DynamicDrive.com to create both a ticker and a count down timer on my web page. The problem is that although both work independently, when both of them are on the page only one will work (and that is the one lowest down on the page).     - Form using database data so it cant be sent via email.? Hi All, I have two problems that im hoping you can help with. I have an Access database that im able to queury fine into a form . THe user is typing in a product number so that it populates certain areas of the form i.e Product Description , lead time, Buyer etc , then the user fills the rest of the required data and should click SEND so that the form goes to relevant people in buying dept. Problem is when i look at form properties it doesnt show the DATABASE data that was selected. Am i doing something wrong or is this actually possilbe in FP.? I`m using the FP2003 Web Site Templates - Database Interface Wizard - I chose
the ASP.Net option - after I submit theform info, I`d like the page to
redirect to a thanyou.aspx page. The template just redirects to a results
page. My problem is that I want to say: "Thank you <txtName>, we shall
contact you soon on <txtEmail>" How do I include the submission forms name
and email varible text fields in my thankyou.aspx redirect page?
