    - Here's a strange one........ Hi, I'm adding item to a web page using FP 2003 and a sm. window pops up that says: Stack Overflow at line 1487, so I tried to exit and it won't allow me to. I had to ctrl, alt, delete. I thought maybe that meant too much info. on a particular line, so I went back in to look at that line and I only have info up to line 445. What exactly does that mean?     - E-Mail Form Question Hi - Using FP 2003 (my server has FP extensions installed), I would like to set up an e-mail form that will send results of the form to different e-mail addresses based on which drop-down selection the user chooses from the initial drop-down box at teh top of the form. e.g., the form begins with a drop down box of 8 different names, and I would like the results of the remaining field entries to be e-mailed to an e-mail address realted to which party was selected in the initial drop down box (a potential of 8 different e-mail addresses).     - The "same graphic" change size in different pages I have created a Intranet project in FP2002. The individual pages are based on a common CSS. I am using VISIO 2003 to create different graphic objects, which I save as .GIF I have made 5 graphics consisting of a number of boxes which are identical with the exception of texts in the boxes. They are all copies from the â??motherâ?? and modified with the different text and saved under a new name. The size is 18.5 x 9 cm. When I print from Visio they all have the same size. The graphic is placed on the pages by the following code (I have omitted the image map code): <div align=â??centerâ??> <img border="0" src="../../images/saniscan/saniscan.gif" width="702" height="343" usemap="#FPMap0"> </div> When I open the 5 different pages in FP2002, the graphic have different size. They grow a little in both directions. If I change the widt and height attribute to show the same value in all 5 pages, they still vary in size.     - no active x needed I just downloaded the Opera9 browser and the videos on my pages are not starting automatically like they do with my old IE6, the flash files work as designed in both browsers. The videos open with a small media player (350X350) With the opera9 browser I get the message: Your browser does not support ActiveX controls or the Windows Media Player. This only happens with opera as far as I know, but now most new browsers have activeX diasabled or not available at all due to security. ...also the dhtml is not working at all with the new browser and nothing shows up at all (instead of getting a message that the dhtml will not work). The dhtml and videos work fine with ie6. How can I put the .wmv files on my pages without having the activeX enabled and have them start when the page is opened? I can simply do away with the dhtml effects if it requires the activeX to work I suppose, unless there is a workaround for it. I'm using Frontpage 2003 to make the pages.     - RSS2HTML Hello, I am not very savy with html but have managed to have success in designing my own RE website. I am trying to have an RSS feed from another site display on mine and have downloaded the rss2html scrip from feedforall.com. I placed the php file in my web and copied/pasted the rss info from the website that I am trying to get the rss feed from. It displays exactly as I have it located in the html.     - Newbie question - need help! I'm new to this newsgroup and also new to frontpage. I'm using FP 2002 right now because it is the only software I have. I'm trying to create a very simple webpage whereby using frames or tables or something like that. I want to have my list of hyperlinks down the left side of the page inside a frame or text box or something like that. Then to have another frame or something to hold a logo at the top middle that doesn't scroll when you scroll down the body of the webpage in the middle. I pulled up a sample webpage and it had squares and rectangles with dotted lines with text, hyperlinks or graphics in them. Just what I want because I could drag them and change their shape. However when i tried to create one myself with a table, the line was solid and evidently was visible. What tool do I use to create the boxes with the dotted line on them? This program came with my computer when I bought it, so I wanted to give it a chance. Can somebody please help me out here? Your help is greatly appreciated!     - Form does not post to DB, DB in wrong web? I can't find a way to get my form to post the data to the access DB. I used a connectivity utility add-in and when I ran the utility from my subweb it would show me that i have not connectivity. When I ran the utility from my rootweb the utility made me create a global.asa in the root web and once I had that it shows that i do have connectivity. I am not a programmer so I followed all the steps in the MSKB about creating password restricted pages. I created a new subweb and than installed all files into the subweb, includin my DB. I am wondering that maybe the DB has to be placed in the root web? and if so, do I just point the form Wizard to the DB in the Root? I have used F1 and MSKB but I really would appreciate some human assist. This is not a sensitive web site, so if anyone wants to look at it I can give you the login and password.     - Password inappropriately displayed to the viewer Using FrontPage 2000, I created a web page that I hoped would enable a viewer to view or download a Word document. I dragged the document from my local folder to the web page folder I created for this page, then created a new page with two entries: Narrative telling the viewer to "click on the following link", and a brief verbiage with a name for the Word document. I gave this text a hyperlink to the Word document, and a Screen Tip. When this text is clicked, the viewer is given the choice to open or download. Both work fine. After viewing the document, when the viewer clicks "back", instead of just returning to the web page, he is presented with the normal "Connect to" FrontPage login page, with the User name filled in, and dots in the Password field that are exactly the correct length of my password.     - Working with text database in an asp page? I am trying to work with a coma-delimited text database in an asp page. The text database will be uploaded to the server every day. I have worked with asp code and and an access database (mdb file) and know how that works.     - GoLive compatibility I am having a problem with a web site created for me in GoLive. I am trying to upload it using FrontPage but it is not working. I am able to load it all into FP but it just stops when I try to upload. I am using FP 2000. Someone has recommmended that changing to FP 2003 may correct the problem. Will it? Are there other things I need to be aware of in the GoLive design end that can help to make the transition to FP easier. I need to continue using FP as the final user would like to be able to make changes on their own and it familiar with and dedicated to FP.     - Querying Data Results Page I want to see if someone has an idea on how we can automatically query some info by a person's User ID. Our server restricts users by this ID which just happens to be their LAN ID which they use when they log in to their pc. Anonymous browsing is shut off. Anyway, we want a Data Results page that will query itself by this ID when they access the page. I saw a Cold Fusion page that displayed this ID on a page and queried the database by that ID when the person clicked 'submit'. Can this be done in FrontPage as well?     - combine pages ? Folks I have a need to display the contents of a 2nd or 3rd page when an initial page is displayed. The pages to be combined for a single view is dynamic and therefore combining various pages into 1 larger page is not the way I want to go. Any way of doing this within FrontPage 2002?     - Odd problem - URL not opening Hi I have taken over a site. The host does not support FP server extensions. FTP the site last night. Noticed that when I try to open the site without "www" the browser reports "Done" But the site has not loaded. If I add the www i.e. www.capital-storage.co.uk the site loads as it should.     - Data Input Page to Formatted Page - Help I need to create a webpage that has blank text boxes and lists containing pre-programmed options. I then need the page to take the information entered and the options selected and display the information on another page in a specific format. What is the best way to do this? Thanks.     - Scroll table without scrolling the page? Hi All, I'm using FP2003, and I'm trying to get a web page to scroll a certain way. The page has thee tables/cells defined: a header across the top, a nav bar down the left side, and a main text area. I've defined a background image as a watermark, so it's behind all three. What I want is for only the main text area to scroll, though, without the header and nav bar to scroll off screen. I added a <div> to the main area with 'overflow:auto', but it's not quite doing what I want. First, it only seems to scroll the main area if the mouse is over it. I'd like the main area to "have the focus" no matter where the mouse pointer is. Also, whever the main area is scrolled to it's limits, the whole page begins to scroll, with the header and side nav going off screen. I really want the main area to scroll, but the header, nav, and background image to stay put. Finally, if possible, I'd like all this to work without any scroll bars having to be displayed. At least, if they have to be displayed, it would be nice if they stay on the right edge, out of the way. Can the behavior I want be gotten easily? FrontPage is not compatible with Apple Mac operating systems. There are
no compatible versions unless you are running a virtual machine or
Parallels with Windows XP installed.
