I created a site through Front Page 2000 and posted it
through Angelfire. My site has buttons for navigation.
When I view the site through my personal computer the
buttons do not work. They are displayed as blaks with the
red 'x' in the upper left corner. I cannot use them and
am stuck on the first page. But when I access the site
through any other computer (I have used 3 so far) the
buttons are displayed and are functional. All the
computers used Windows XP and MSN through Verizon DSL. I
assume therefore that the problem lies in my computer's
internet settings. However, when I check them it says all
buttons are enabled. What can I do? I can't view my own
site!

Don't see any navigation (even in view source) on
http://www.angelfire.com/anime5/exclamationanimetion/Home%20Page.htm
- unless it 's blocked in your iframes

PS remove all spaces from file/ folder names - illegal html & breaks links

I'm confused. Does that mean _you_ didn't see navigation
either? What's an iframe? Sorry, I'm new to all this. I
don't think I have any spaces in my file/folder names.
And that doesn't explain why it works from some
computers/accounts and not others.

Re: Buttons not working on Front Page site by Steve

Looks fine to me and the navigation works.
*However,* it took me awhile to figure out that the default page
is nothing but an image that is a link to Home Page.
Once I found Home Page I saw the navigation buttons
on the bottom of the page *after* I scrolled down.

However, they are Hover buttons. Hover buttons
require that a computer have Java Virtual Machine
( totally different from javascript )
installed. JVM is no longer supplied with Windows XP
and Internet Explorer 6.

The computers that can't see your Hover Buttons probably
fall in this category.
For this reason most web authors no longer use Hover buttons.

As for the spaces in file names like Home Page.htm, you need
to replace the spaces with underscores like this: Home_Page.htm.

Spaces in file names ( pages or images ) will cause the links to
fail in some browsers.
