    - Help with sorting Access table using ASP Hi all I have been trying to sort an Access table "calendar" by the field "Date" into ascending order. I've tried a straight SQL query, but I don't believe my server supports SQL although they do support ASP. I've tried using a stored query in Access "Gigdatesort" with no luck.     - New Windows Setup - Which comes first, development or application environment? Hi: I am going to replace the current primary drive with a new HDD and to perform a clean installation of Windows XP Pro because the current environment is getting slower and some components are messed up with different installation, removal, and updates of applications, Windows service packs, patches, and development packages. And based on the past experiences, I figured some problems seems to be related to the sequence of program installation, such as certain components have been changed or updated by a application or SDK installed later on but have not been updated for all other applications using it which eventually lead to certain problems. So my question is, after the initial installation of Windows XP and performed all updates for device drivers and Windows Update, shall I set up the development environment first or installing applications along with the environment? By saying development environment, it was referred to things such as FrontPage Extension, SharePoint Team Service, SDK, Starter Kits, database, database components, and/or any other components that will be required to develop web applications. By saying applications, it was referred to applications such as FrontPage, Dreamweaver, Office, and so on. I understand that some development components also come with applications and it might be updated when the application is being installed and updated.     - default folders Using XP Pro and FrontPage 2002. By default Windows sets up a default folder "My Webs" which is used exclusively by FrontPage. I also use Publisher 2000 for quick simple websites. I have chosen to keep all my sites in 1 folder on another larger drive and named it "My Webs". Moved all sites to new folder leavingthe default windows folder "My Webs" empty except for a shortcut to the new "My Webs" folder on the larger drive. Now when opening FrontPage 2002 I not only do not see any folders or sub folders there, it doesn't even show the short cut I created. I can still access them by using the Open Feature. Even the Open last web Feature doesnt open them. I do not want to import all of the folders cause my default drive is small and I want to keep it that way for security reasons. Besides I administer 22 different websites and you can imagine how much room that takes. Also if I were to import the folders any changes made in Frontpage are not updated in the Publisher folders. They are duplicated by the import and not linked for updating. I am not a program Developer so how do i go about changing the default folders in FrontPage 2002. Ps..Changing the Default folder for the templates worked fine. Just need to change the main default opening folder. -- There are no dumb questions, only unanswered one!     - included content corrupting site I have standard included content (e.g. included files or navigation bars) on my and my clients' websites us MS FrontPage 2003. Suddently, this content seems to corrrupt the website, resulting in a site-within-a-site. Currently, my own website is corrupted: www.webuilder.co.il. However, if I remove the navigation bar from the left, it will look perfect. I also had included content which caused the same results. Other sites are causing me similar problems. I have fixed FP extensions, recalculated links, detected & repaired, updated via office update, and nothing seems to help. I have developed a few sites and use a js to provide a Date and Time on each page (this is embedded into each page via dynamic template) which works very well..........     - Unable to Publish I am using FP2003. My website is hosted by Yahoo since July 2004. I have a modem with two computers on a D-Link router, one hard wired, one wireless. Both experience the problem which was initially intermittant and is now solid. When trying to publish, I get the following error message: " Unable to open HTTP://twowackywomen.com" Server error: The server does not appear to have Windows share point services installed" Possible causes: 1.Web server may not have FP Server Extensions. 2.Server is out of service. 3.If connecting through a proxy server, the settings may be wrong. etc.etc. What I have done: With Yahoo tech support, I reset extensions and author at the host. This worked when the problem was intermittant. but not know. We also deleted, at the host, all files with spaces, and underscores, there were many. Finally, we deleted all the files. Unfortunately none of this solved the problem and I am left with a blank web site. Yahoo tech support is able to publish to the site with Front Page and has indicated I have a Front Page problem.     - Converting JPG to GIF without distortion I took advice from Tina Clarke and went to BoxedArt.com and downloaded an awesome Flash & Html versions of a template that I am using to redevelop my website. The template I have has a lot of GIF files that I am reworking to fit my needs. I think I am fortunate enough to have Microsoft Image Composer and Microsoft Gif Animator from my Frontpage 2000, which easily was able to be used with my 2004 Frontpage. But, after 3 days of many hours of work editing pictures and graphics, I noticed the JPG pics I converted to GIF were distorted. I did a Google search to find a converter from JPG to GIF and found a bunch of no-name programs that probably came with spyware and junk added on. I found a program called 2GIF and afterwards discovered they wanted $125 after the free download. Anyone have any suggestions where I can convert my JPG photos into a GIF format and keep the quality so that I can make them animated with the graphics from the template. I don't have Adobe Photoshop but may purchase in the future as I am too cheap to buy it right now, nor do I want to spend weeks trying to figure out a new software package.     - Include Pages Have a programming question. I designed a web site in which I placed the side menu on it's own page and then did an "include page"(menu.html) to post the menu on each page. My problem is that when I make a change to the menu page and save it, the change does not propagate to all of the pages where menu.html is included. The only way for the changes to show up is to go into each page, delete the include and then reinsert the same include again. Any ideas on why it won't propagate would be appreciated.     - Form DATA Entry I currently use a form on my web page and in order to save space, I have no description fields. I used the "initial value" option under the form field properties to describe the information I wanted. I have seen other pages do this so I believe this can be done. I would like the field to clear the current contents when the user clicks or tabs to the field. In other words the "initial value" text would be cleared and they would be able to immediately begin entering desired information without having to delete the "initial value" text (as defined in the form field properties). I know this is probably way too much out of the realms of programming, but I
thought I'd give it a try. I am selling stain for my manufacturer at my
website. Is there any way that I can prevent people who visit my website to
go to the manufacture's website to try to get a better deal. Can I program
something at my website to put a block on their browser from reaching
www.xyzcompany.com after they have visited my website?

You are dealing with the wrong company if they don't give you a
wholesale price that is lower than the price they will sell to anyone
that walks in the door, so to speak.
