    - Interactive button in shared border-FP2003 Hi. I tried adding interactive button inside a table in a top shared border. When I published it, the index page was fine, but all the other pages had script errors. I immediately deleted all of them, and any code that was inserted and republished the site without the buttons. I really want to get them to work though.     - DHTML Expanding Hotspot with Text - Web Component I'm looking for a tool to insert hotspot text, like what you ofter see in MS Help files. For example: This is _text_. This is _text_ after hotspot is selected with a mouse. In the above example, when _text_ is selected with the mouse, "after hotspot is selected with a mouse" appears. When selected again, it collapses. I know how to do with this with <span> tags and JavaScript, but I find it difficult to teach my authors how to do this. Does anyone know of a easy to use method/tool for inserting Expanding Hotspot with Text or Pop-Ups?     - frontpage 03 search component greetings, I am using FP2003 with my site hosted on a 2000 server. My site search feature works fine, however I am looking for a site or article where I can find instructions on what I can add to it as far as customization of its results. for example... directly adding and editing the code that is output by the components wizard. FP allows you to call up 'edit html' for the tag, and pulls up the code for the search tool, but without knowing any of my options.... well, not much I can add there.     - Script Error Hello, I am getting this error from an ASP: Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d' Type mismatch: '[string: ""]' /asp/loadresults.asp, line 101 It looks like there is a quote or two in the data causing the problem, and I deleted the ones that I found which didn't solve the problem.     - Wecomponenst - Hit Counter and Picture Gallery Thumbnails show red cross I have a problem with inserting Web Components in my web site. When I insert a Hit Counter and Picture Gallery Slide Show using Thumbnails - everything appears normal when I browse offline. However when I connect to my server which does not have Front Page Extensions Supported the Hit Counter and the Thumbnails appear as white squares with a red cross in the top left corner.     - Three drop down boxes I was able to create three drop down boxes to search on a table and finally get the results on another page. The web address is http://www.futuraair.com/AppliCat1byyear.asp What I want to do now is to have the three drop down boxes on the same page. Select the first box , which will submit to the same page populating the second box, keeping the choices open and the selected value on the box. (This is done) Then select the second box which will submit to the same page populating the third box, keeping the choices open for box 1 and 2 and the selected value on both boxes. (here begin my problem) Finally select the third box and get the table results. This I know must be in another page. But I want to have on the final page the three drop down boxes with all the choices available in a way that if I want to re-query from the beginning I can do it from there. I got to the first part as you can see it at the following address http://www.futuraair.com/test1byyear.asp but when I select the second box, the first box loose the value and the third box will not populate.     - Database drop list redirection I have a page which contains a drop down list populated by a database field, no problem getting values. I'm trying on the same page to capture the value a force another table to pull specific information relating to the selected value of the drop down list. My problem is that once a value is populated in the list then event triggering the table does not take place.     - Navigation bar problems Hello, I shall have to tell you a story to explain my problem :- Prepared a website http://www.simulations-4-u.com and got it working, Frontpage extensions etc (Frontpage 2000/ Windows ME ) and fairly happy. A little later though I tried to do some modifications and my version on my pc went belly up. No matter how often I recalculate hyperlinks, edit properties of navigation bars, or check out the shared on all pages, top, bottom or left borders I cannot get the navigation text or buttons to display - to navigate round the site. I have tried The office professional healing, uninstalling, reinstalling route to no effect. I imported the same web and it still failed and the final thing which really confounds me is that navigation does work if I create a simple new web - can anyone help me?.     - Using drop-down menus with frames Hi, I'm struggling to create a webpage with 3 frames (contents, banner and main). In the contents frame I have drop-down menus with different url's in them. My goal is to have the url open in the main frame when its selected from the menu (on change). I've found a script that opens the url in a new window (javascript:window.open), but is there a way to modify this to get the popup to open in the main frame? Or should I go a whole new route?     - Wrapping text around an image Hi, I am using Frontpage 2000. I have placed an image on the left side of a web page. I'd like to a paragraph of text to the right of this image. This paragraph will span several lines of text. I would like the top line of this paragraph to be aligned with the top of my image. I'd like all subsequent lines to flow naturally underneath this top line, but still to the right of my image. I tried going into 'picture properties' for my image and choosing 'top' alignment. This lines up my first line of text with the top of my image, but the second line of text appears all the way underneath my image, leaving a big gap. When I run the database wizard and put in the SQL code, I see all the fields I want from both databases.     - getting cells to line up with headers (include page) What is the best way to ensure your borders line up ie; have a header added with an include page. Creating a tabel with an image to the left and text in the right cell. each page will be made up of tables as well with navigation links in the left side panel.     - Embebbed pages on FP2002 I have successfully had a website at www.premiershirts.net (for which I have just changed server) and for ease of navigation I use a dropdown menu (Pop up menu creator Pro) which has worked great until I transferred it to Powweb. The site has been produced on FP 2002 and the menu is placed at the top of the page using the code  It should be placed above the title image. There should also be embedded navigation at the bottom of the page - not there - but the title image is also embedded - but is there - all use  code.     - Posting Fireworks page as home page in FrontPage I've created a page in Fireworks that I'd like to use as my home page. I've already exported the page to FrontPage and it's ready to load onto my site.     - VBScript Denied-help i am trying to do catalog searches on a server catalog from client workstations. having permission rights problems using exact same file code. 4 situations: if i run the vb script on the server catalog from CLIENT machine in frontpage preview, i get perfect results. that is, client htm calling into remote server cata. works. if i run the vb script on the server catalog from the SERVER with a direct launch of the file in browser, i get perfect results. that is, manually going into the server web directory and launching the file gives great results. BUT, if i run the vb script on the server catalog from CLIENT machine launched from a direct view of the file in browser using a url \\servermachinename\c$\...\search.htm i get Error 80070005 - Access is denied and a VB script Access is Denied. if i run the vb script on the server catalog from any machine (server or client) via an intranet url http:\\www.xyz.com\search.htm i get Error 80070005 - Access is denied and a VB script Access is Denied. i have tried the items at KB 315454 with no avail. can't seem to figure out where the permission rights are. since i can get to them from client, in frontpage, can't be firewall, since i can get to on server or client, cant be code. the only thing i can think of whenever request traverses through a pipe it gets trapped. so many pipes, can get a hold on it. July 3, I installed the following MS update on my XP Home machine: Critical Update for ADODB.stream (KB870669) Yesterday, I installed the following MS updates: Security Update for Windows XP (KB841873) Security Update for Windows XP (KB840315) Update for Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773) Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express 6 SP1 (KB823353) Today, I open FP 2000 (version 4.0.2.6625), try logging onto my website [similar to www.abcxyz.com] to do some updating and as soon as I enter my password and hit OK, my CPU usage jumps to 100% and FP hangs (I can close it by right clicking taskbar icon).HOWEVER! If I log in with my IP address [as 123.456.789.012], FP works fine?!? ALSO, I have a subset of folders in the same domain set up as a "subweb" with a seperate login that also works fine (even using the www.abcxyz.com/subweb style login). Both my OS (XP Home) and Office2000 have latest sevice packs and updates. Web hosting is by SBC (NOT SBC Yahoo) Webhost Server Version as of 7/15/2004: Rapidsite/APA/1.3.29 (Unix) FrontPage/5.0.2.2510 mod_ssl/2.8.16 OpenSSL/0.9.7c FrontPage Server Extension version 5.0.2.2623 Are the MS Updates a sheer coincidence, or could they be the culprit? I originally considered it was a corruption of the FrontPage extensions, but since the site opens fine using the IP login, and I can make changes, it eliminates that possibility.     - Can't log in to publish via http I have been having this problem since four months ago with not being able to use the publish feature because when I publish to http, I get an error message saying that my login is rejected. If I turn right around and use CuteFTP, my login goes through flawlessly. I have written my tech support about it but they never fix it. They just say "I logged in as you and have no problems." Of course it is impossible for them to do that because they don't have FrontPage or even a web to test publishing. I have not problems logging in as me either, except for publishing. I have asked them to reinstall the extensions multiple times and this doesn't work. I have also uninstalled/reinstalled the extensions through the control panel and that doesn't work either. This is a Unix server with FP extensions (supposedly) for Unix. There is no viewable place that I know of to see what the version is but they have told me via email in the past that it is 5.03 or something like that - it checked out as up to date when I viewed info at Microsoft.com.     - Nesting local groups At my new job I am trying to maintain/update the company's intranet webpage. However, a section of one page has limited access. When trying to grant access to everyone by adding the Users group with the role of "browser" I receive this message: The group "Domain\Domain Users" cannot be added to the role (s) "browser" since Windows does not allow local groups to be nested.
