Help with IIF Statement
Here is my IIF statement:
WHERE IIF(('::GreatTotalScore::'=''), True, TotalScore>=::GreatTotalScore::)
ANd IIF('::LessTotalScore::'=''), True, TotalScore <= ::LessTotalScore::)
This works correctly. It is pulling the data from a query made in MS Access
for the total score of numerous fields. However, It only works if both
criteria are put in, meaning, I can't leave GreatTotalScore or LessTotalScore
blank or it will produce an error stating missing operator.
I have made numerous IIF statements in the past all identical to this one;
however, they have all been for text fields. If I change this statement to
the following:
WHERE IIF(('::GreatTotalScore::'=''), True,
TotalScore>='::GreatTotalScore::')
ANd IIF('::LessTotalScore::'=''), True, TotalScore <= '::LessTotalScore::')
(added single quotes to 2nd portion of IIF statemtn on both).
That statement works also for everything MINUS scores of 100...it reads them
as 1 instead of 100 (cause its seeing it as text).
Does anyone know how I can repair this statement to work like the text
version so it skips the input box if its null AND work like the numeric

publishing error
I have been successfully publishing my website for over a year with FP2002.
Recently when I try to publish changes with FP I get the error message:
Server error: Cannot open file "D:\Inetpub\wd5ddh.org\_vti_pvt\service.lck"
for writing.
I can still publish through ftp. Any suggestions?

Publish to another file on local computer
I have a website(site A) in which I have set up individual passworded folders
for clients so that they can click on their client number and view their work
as I progress through it.
I build their website in it own web folder(Site B) and then try to publish
it to their folder within "site A".
When I try to publish "site B" to "site A" I always get the message "No web
site exists at this location, do you want one built". If I say no, it won't
publish as all. If I say yes it builds a subweb, which causes me problem
when I am uploading Site A to the Internet.
Is there a way to publish a site to a folder without a subweb being built?

toolbar frontpage button
On the toolbar the MS Frontage button is grayed out. It was okay for a
while and then it returned to being grayed out again. I have FP 2003
and am using XP. My main index page is fine as is a few other pages.
Can anyone suggest anything? I have uninstalled and reinstalled FP
already.

Is there a way to have an audio file played when you click on a picture

Drop Shadow Filter
I've read the KB articles, Googled, etc. I understand that the effect will
work in IE only. That said...
Is it possible to use this filter inside of another div? If I use inline or
linked css, the effect works as advertised as long as the text I'm applying
the effect to isn't contained in another div. Am I trying to do something
that can't be done, or am I just dense (and it wouldn't be the first time)
and missing something?

Trying to create an upload form to upload pictures

Line spacing
How do you make it so that your line spacing is when you hit the enter key
it drops you one line (like when you press CTRL + enter)? I'm using FP to
write an HTML e-mail template and the double line spacing isn't working for
the e-mail template. I've already tried playing with page properties and
cell and table properties.

I have frontpage but cannot open it
I have frontpage under program files, version 3.0. I have a help file, the
fpecommenu , answer wizard and the compiled HTML help file. I cannot expand
the help index entries to get the help I need nor can I open a window with
the program. I have Works Suite and cannot located the frontpage file on any
CD. What am I missing?

color. My problem is that the textarea colors/scrollbar on my pages also

form field selections contingent upon other field selection?
In Front Page I would like to make the form field options in one field
contingent upon the selection in another field, i.e.:

DWT Inheritence
I was trying to work out if you could derive one template from another.
Here's why.
I have a site template which I have the company logo and menu's in etc. This
all work fine. I also have a requirement to extend this to include a table
which will include information relating to courses being run. I wanted to
design the course template based on the site template so that if the site
template changes it is also reflected in the course template.
I did an experiement, I create this scenario where one template ( the sub
template ) has the site template applied to it. However, when you change
the site template it gives no warning that there are pages dependent on it
and does not make any changes to the template which is based upon it.
Am I missing something here, or is there another way to acheive this.

Every time I start FP, I get the Dialog box

Is there a way in Frontpage 2003 to create flowing dropdown cascading

1) The website takes forever to publish, so I have broken the big folders

not the best solution because everytime you save a change, you have to change

and you donâ??t want the same graphics in each subweb.
Is there any other solution to this managing a large website?
2) At what point is Frontpage going to self-destruct on me? Is there a limit
to the number of pages I can have? What is the best way to manage this large
website?
Is there a Frontpage 2003 expert I can talk to who can assess my site and
give me some advice? Can I pay someone to do it? If so, who?

unique Number
I am trying to add a unique Identifier to a form. The form needs to generate

Form/Rpt design tools for FP2000?
Is there a cheap product that I can use that will let me design web
pages with the same ease that I can create layouts on forms and reports
in Access 2000?
I really like the "drag and drop" method, along with the alignment tools

Newbie stuck on 1st base - please help
Hi,
I've developed my web site using FP2003 from my xp workstation, it's a very
simple web site containing maybe a dozen hyperlinks to files which exist in
folders in the xp box.
I want to upload the web site to a Win2K server which also sits on my desk
at work - but I want to have the files exist on the server not the xp box.
I can get the web site working mostly but when I click on the hyperlinks
there is no download offered, the win2k server can't work out where the
files are coming from.
So I tried creating folders on the win2k server and pointing the hyperlinks
there but still no joy.
Can anyone give me a steer here, please - what would be the best way to
achieve this. I have ordered "dummies guide to FP2003" but it won't be
here for a few days ( Christmas post !! ) and I really need to get this
finished quick.

Window Media - Embedded video
I have a link to .wmv file on a page in my site where the link directly opens
a video about the organization. The video was viewing inside IE along with
pop-up that the organization doesn't want. I took the suggestion of one of

Front page webbot modification
I need to change the gif files FP uses for the photogallery slide show
navigation. File names are: prev.gif, prevdis.gif, next.gif, and
nextdis.gif. If I resize them on the Real.htm, Realp.htm pages, somewhere
they get overwritten when the actual slide show is views. I've looked at the
xml files, but can't find where this is taking place......Any help is greatly

How to open HTML files composed by Word 2003?
Hi:
I am experimenting an email newsletter with FP 2003, Word 2003, and using
Outlook 2003 for email client.
I found out that HTML files composed by Word 2003 (with HTML extension) can
only opened by Word 2003, that is even you tried to open it with FP 2003,
Word 2003 would jump out to open it, and it is also true for vice versa, and
that is HTML files composed by FP 2003 with be opened by FP 2003 only.
Is there a way that I can just use any client to open it since the two both
support HTML files, instead of using the original one?
I am trying to use FP 2003 to do the template and using Word 2003 to edit it
a bit but more importantly to use the mail merger function to distribute the
email newsletter.

I am helping out afirend who had a website with a menu on the side, she lost
her password to get in and so the isp reset it, now the menu is missing and

Hi
I would like to create a web in a sub directory, containing a copy of the
web (no not the internet, the Frontpage web).
In short, I am testing the website by placing the whole thing in a
subdirectory. FrontPage asks me if it should create a website in that
subdirectory. On the test server it seems to work.
Is this a common practice? Is it safe?

Windows Media
I have a link to .wmv file on a page in my site where the link opens a video
about the organization. My question is "is there a way or a script that can
be added to the page that does not let the vidoe open inside Internet
Explorer?"
I had a couple of the execs open the video and their IE is set up to play
media within IE, and just above the video is a pop-up ad for let's say a
company that doesn't project a good corporate image.
