    - How do I get my website to pop up on search engines(i.e. Google, Y I have the same question as LorenScott and I too have only college level web programming experience.     - image problems !!! i have created a web site which is all stored into a folder called web inside this folder is the pages i have created ie index.htm /contactus.htm ect...and a folder called images the images folder contains all of my images both gif and jpg format when i created the web site i worked on each page individually rather than biuld one and copy to all (apart from the main website navigation buttons) when i was entering pictures into the web pages within my web site i did this by creating a section in the size i wanted and then modifing the background of this section to point to the images folder then to the image itself. some pictures were created by actually adding the picture in then transforming the size to the wanted peramitters. i then uploaded (published) to my bt business server and found that i kept entering into a error code of 553 cwdir: not found i contacted the server help desk who sujested that i upload via ftp:/ manualy through internet explorer.this i did (via drop n drag) and had no problems uploading (no errors). but no pictures would load. i just keep getting a small white box with a red x in it. i then removed the folder link in the html codeing =3D no moved the pictures out of the folder into the same file as the webpages = no changed the folder link from images/imagename to the complete server address/docs/images/imagename = no then phones the help desk again but noone can understand why it works fine on my computer until i try to publish it either by ftp manualy or by the publish web in the file tab. the server claims to support frontpage but i just thought if they dont support my frontpage "2002" but maybe an earlier version like 2000 would this cause the error in my pics. or would none of it work ? please help im going bald here !! kris Tag: FP 2002 Tag: 49052

    - Database Connection Error I have a search page within a secure ssl site that seems to work fine right after you log in but if you let it sit for a few minutes and then try another search i get this error message: ---- Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005' The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file 'c:\mypath\parts.mdb'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data. /parts/results.asp, line 7 ------ if you refresh the page a time or two it will work again until you let it sit for a while. Is there a way to add a session time in the asp code.     - Frontpage 2000 synchronization Hi, is there any possibility to synchronize a FP Web from different PCs? I want to update a FP Web on a webserver with FP server extensions from 2 different client-PCs (WinXP and Win98 - both use FP 2000).     - Adding a Office Componet-Spreedsheet I have added a office web componet to a web page. I would like the user to enter data and the data either uppdates a spreadsheet SQL or Access Database.     - picture print too big i'm making a company tech support web page... This is to have drawings and sops on it. I have scanned in all the docs as jpgs, at hires and set to print at 8x10.5 . I make links, and in IE the image looks good, but try to print and all I get is the top left corner of my image, and it's huge. I came up with a work around, and that's to make pdf files... this gives nice views, and prints perfectly.. but it's a kluge, and the image has to be adjusted to view fully.     - Publishing woes with MS FrontPage 2002 Hi, I built a website that has a discussion forum and a classified section (www.pulsaraviators.com). At first, neither the forum nor classified section would work until I had the web host "reset" the FrontPage server extensions. One of my problems is that after he reset the extensions everything worked until I "re-published" my website...by re-publish I mean that I made a simple change to my main page and published it to the webhost again.     - FrontPage 2002 Discussion Forum "Reply" not working Hi, I set up a discussion forum on my website (www.pulsaraviators.com) and I can post new topics, but if I try to reply to any of them I get the following message: Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page: "http://www.pulsaraviators.com/Discussion_post.htm" The web host guy had to reinstall the FP server extensions for the posts to work in the first place, but for whatever reason the replies don't work.     - Counter stopped Working To ALL Just setup my Windows XP Pro computer with IIS and Frontpage 2003 using SQL 2000 Developer as a database. I was on Windows 2000 Professional and the counter was working fine. Now that I have everything on My Windows XP Pro workstation and can not get the counter to work. I tried removing the counter then adding it back but it only displays a "1" everytime I hit the page. I also can not find a .cnt file What can I do to get the counter to work? Any ideas or thoughts?     - My Web Site created by Office Front Page 2002 appears jumbled whe. Twelve months ago I set up my web site, www.rangerjohn.com using Microsoft Office 2002 Front Page.     - Host factors and security ? I'm new to making an getting a FP 2003 web site hosted. Right now I'm leaning toward powweb.com but have a few questions. I've noticed that many of the hosters tell you that they have hundreds email accounts and email aliases. In my case I'm going to try to sell off a bunch of personal things on eBay with a link to my new site showing other stuff that will be available later. For viewers of my new site that want to contact me I was going to include my regular email address. Then I started to wonder if this will open a bigger door to spammers. I'm guessing it's a bad idea to leave my personal email address on my site, and have legitimate queries respond to my site. If this is the case what do I look for in a hoster? So far I've received the names of about a dozen web hosters and the one I'm leaning to is: http://www.powweb.com/ My reasons for leaning toward them is that for $7.77/mo they offer 2 Gigs of storage, 5 Gigs/day traffic (not month), free domain, and search engine listing and other stuff that I don't know about and don't know if I need.     - Convert vertical link bar from shared to local to change navig. op I developed a Front Page 2003 site for an author (www.MargStark.com). The default for showing the buttons on the left side put the navigation buttons in an area called a "Shared border". That means, as you probably know, that if I change it on one screen, I change it one screen, I've changed it on all of them. Well, I never gave it a thought until this week when we added our first lower level menu and, in changing the options for that screen, I changed all of the menus! I then tried killing the whole shared area and inserting the Link Bar in the body of the page. That messed up the formatting big time. Is there an easier way to say, "Yes, have a navigation list on the left side but be defined as the link format for just this page?" If I have to do it on every page, so be it, because at least it'll be that way for every page that I template from here on in. But it sure seems like one should be able to say, on a given page, "Let me change you without affecting the other pages."     - FP2002 site update problem Has anyone come across this problem ? When I update my site using the publish command in FP2002 and then view it in FP all is well. However if I switch to IE6 and view it, the updated pages don't appear. At first I thought this was just a case of deleting my temporary internet files,cookies and the obstinate index.dat cache files. After doing this I can confirm IE6 hasn't got anything left of the old version by booting IE6 off-line and trying to load my homepage - page not found. Great. But then if I go back on-line - back come the old pages ! I've confirmed this is not a problem with either my web host or ISP caching pages and if I access the site from another machine all is well. Is something going on between FP and IE6 which is preventing me seeing the updated pages in a local browser ? Incidentally the same problem occurs regardless of browser - eg in Netscape.     - Forms Access Denied I have a newly installed Win 2003 server running IIS configured with anonymous access. I have all extensions enabled and have lifted the security on all folders involved in filling out a form and submitting with a submit button. I have tried every setting and security problem I can think of. Whe I go to my site: www.sowela.edu (or .net) and scroll down in the quick links to the link SYSTEM I receive the form I want.     - CSS Positioning in FP2003 I am using FP 2003, and I want a three column layout using CSS. I have it set up (you can view the sample at www.cbcwichita.org/csspage.shtml) using CSS now, but there's a problem. I want to have variable length pages, with the page length (height) equal to the height of the center column. That way the background color on each of my side columns will stretch as far down the page as the center column text/images go. If I can set it up this way, then I can use a dynamic web template for my page layout; otherwise I would have to manually configure the height for each column in every page (Yikes!). Any suggestions on how to implement variable height columns using CSS. I'm wondering if the problem is that the "height" property is not inheritable. If that's the problem, what can I do to fix that?     - Update and edit pages Hi all, Well, I'm getting super frustrated with the db interface wiz. You could say that I'm somewhat new to asp, but I use it pretty well with an access db (trying to learn more, but frontpage just makes things so darn easy). Anyhow, I'm trying to design a customer manager for some friends, and I find myself adding and editing columns in the access db after I've already run the db wiz. Since I've changed the db, I've had to run the db wiz several times. Since I already had several records in the db (on the server, not local) I downloaded the server's db, editted, then ran wiz. I'm thinking that somewhere in there is where my problem occured. Now, I can't update records. I can add, delete, just not edit. I get the old " Database Results Wizard Error The operation failed. If this continues, please contact your server administrator." I've run the db wiz a few times, and this does not fix it. I'm not real sure what to do. I've checked out the tutorial from asp101.com, which has some great solutions, but I'd like to find a fix that would allow me to continue to use the db wiz. Any tips would be much appreciated. Also, I can't remember how to turn on the detailed error messages in ie explorer, can someone tell me how.     - Want to use sendkeys in Outlook to open Excel file I have a form in Outlook that I have saved the data from as a .txt file. I want to get the VBscript code in Outlook to activate Excel (which I have done) and open a spreadsheet. I can't use the normal openfile commands as the spreadsheet has an Auto_Open macro in Macro4 language that I want to kick off when the file is opened. Using the fileopen command supresses the Auto_Open feature. To bypass this I want to use Sendkeys. This works up until the Open shell is created and then my Excel.sendkeys commands fail.     - Secure session back button This isn't really a FrontPage issue but I'm hoping for some help. We're redesigning a secure transaction in .Net and would like to prevent the Back button from displaying the cached page with personal info. I have a database in Access, may I know if it's possible to create a

Insert->Database->Results
