I am running IIS on my win 2000 pro machine. I would like
to create a SSL secured sub-web and test it. How are you
suppose to do this? I do not have a certificate to add to
my machine so the option for SSL is not available. I do
have SSL on the actual server that runs my site. Do I
create the sub web on my local site without SSL. Go to
the live site and create a empty Sub web with the same
name and enable SSL, then publish the actual content?

Hi Pat,

You can issue your own certificate by using the MS Certificate Services.
See:
http://search.microsoft.com/search/results.aspx?na=84&st=a&View=msdn&qu=Certificate+Services&qp=&qa=&qn=&c=&s=1

Use the Web Server Certificate Wizard to request and install your server
certificate.
