    - FP2003 - Form / Query Problem Hi Im new to this so please bear with me ...... I have created a form in FP 2003 which adds records to an .mdb file. When the user submits the form, I want the confirmation page to show not only the detail that has been submitted but also the record number, user name and IP address of the users computer. I decided (rightly or wrongly) that the best option would be to put a basic query onto the confirmation page which shows the latest record added for that user or IP, thus showing the user what he had just added and also giving him a record number should he need to chase his request. The problem is, I do not seem to be able to retrieve the user name at all. This is not even posted when the user submits the form even though I have requested the user name. The IP address is added, so I wanted the query to compare the current users IP address with that of the records in the file, thereby displaying to the user the latest record for his IP. I cannot however figure out how to retrieve the IP address from the users computer to compare against the database records. Does anyone know how this is done and can it be used as part of the SQL statement. All help appreciated Sean. Tag: OWC Tag: 31098

    - FP 2003 applet preview does not work -- why downgrade? I have spent literally hours trying to find how to get FP 2003 preview mode to properly display. Finally, I found KB 323236, which says YOU CAN'T. This was also a problem in FP 2002, and MS didn't fix it. I am glad I still have a copy of FP 2000 to reinstall after removing FP 2003. My question is: why downgrade to Office 2003 components that don't work when Office 2000 components have more functionality. I am sick of MS garbage that does not work as advertised, and they know it and yet we still have to "eat the dogfood." DO I GET A REFUND for purchasing this fraudulent and defective software?     - Link bar with subdirectories I am trying to figure out how to in MS Frontpage 2002 how to have a website that has link bar buttons when you hover over them with the mouse that a subdirectory opens that has a list of all the subsequent pages that that page links to. A dropdown or sideways subdirectory that opens showing visitors the contents of the site is what I am looking for. I have the links currently based off of the navigation structure right now, and all I want is to make it so that you can see what pages the link buttons go to while the site is live on the web.     - Music on web site In the past, I have placed music on my web site using *.ram and a *.rm files. The *.ram file is a metafile created by a text editor and the *ram file is created by Real Producer. I am finding that music produced this way is taking too long to buffer and stopped several times while playing in order for more music to buffer. Is there a better way to do this? If so, how?     - help with code! Hello! The scenario: I have a .asp page that contains a form with a database results component. The database result is a query that will return cercain amount of records from an access database. The question: How can I make the form to show different buttons depending on the amount of records returned by the query? In other words, if the query returns no records I need to show BUTTON_A; if the query returns 1 record I need to show BUTTON_B; if the query returns 2 records I need to show BUTTON_C and so on...     - Forms Hello All, It seems that forms are the most popular request and problem here in these newsboards so I will continue the fun. I have created four forms and all of them work fine by e-mailing the results to a e-mail address as programmed. Now here is where my question comes into play: I want these forms to send the data to a database and I know how to get the forms to do this.     - invisible hit counter - not working in Netscape I have created an invisible hit counter by creating a 1 x 1 pixel transparent image and choosing custom image in Frontpage 2003.     - Form script Hi! I changed from a server extensions supported webserver to one without having the extensions installed. In frontpage 2000 there's an option to include form collected data on a html page. For example, after a user fills in a name on a form, the confirmation form can start with something like "hi [name]" Now, the forms are handled by an ASP script that doesn't understand that Frontpage function. Is there a way to have the submitted form data to be published on a new confirmation page so the user can see what he/she sent away? I'm new to scripts.     - How can a popup window update to the parent window that opened it? One one of my pages has a search button that, when clicked, opens a popup window with the search form. When that form gets submitted I need it to close the popup window and submit its data to the parent window that opened the popup. However, when retrieving results they include other items like web site traffic reports that are supposed to be available for viewing by my web hosting company and me.     - Date Validation - Allow BLANK date (ASP) Hi. I am having trouble allowing my users to leave the date field of my table blank. I have no trouble, with the other fields, just the fields that are designated as "Date/Time" fields in the database. I have set the "Required" property to "No" in the proper table.     - Disallow first choice in asp pages= selected but does not work ! Hello all, I face a strange problem : I've developped some .asp pages in order to load data into a MS Access database. In the form, data have to be selected from a drop down menu, and as I do not want the first value to be selected, I have selected "Disallow first item " in the "validate" window. When I go to html pages to view the code, everything seems ok, as I can see instruction "B-Disallow-First-Item="TRUE" but when I test it once published, I can load data in the database even if the first item is selected !!     - How to set SMTP Host parameter??? I am new to FrontPage Programming. I am trying to save the results of my feedback form to both a file and send it to me email id. The results get stored to my file but are not sent to my email id. The log file says that I need to setup the SMTPHost parameter. I am currently testing my Web Site locally my server being PWS.     - Frontpage 2002 form error Hi, I have a form that upon submitting goes to a confirmation page. On the confirmation page, there is a form with one drop down box and based on the users option/choice they are directed to a 3rd page. When I complete the first form it goes to the confirmation page. When I select a choice from the drop down box, it directs me to the 3rd page with an error of "Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page".
