    - FrontPage and pdf and graphic files I have a pdf file that I link to so users can then read, print or save the file. In FrontPage when I use Alt-Click to follow the hyperlink Adobe Reader opens the file. However when I "preview in browser" after saving the page the link does not work. The cursor changes to the finger when I position adobe the link, but clicking does not open Adobe in a new window or otherwise. I have tried with old files, new files and still the same result. I have tried opening in a new window or not, and still there is nor response in the browser. The only way it works perfectly is in FrontPage and using the Alt-Click to follow the hyperlink. I also have a problem with inserted graphics not showing in the browser, even though the file is in the images folder. Have tried jpg, gif and png; Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, -- W.G.     - Editing an Exisiting Website Hi- I am having issues editing a specific page on my website (http://templates.haleymail.com/haley_templates/index.smpl?arg=opt_in&aid=510&database=referral) using FrontPage.     - emailing a sample page Hello. I haven't used frontpage a lot but I've put together a web page using FP 2003 but haven't yet published it. I'd like to send an email via outlook of what I've put together for a colleague to look at and I do this using the FILE -- SEND option.     - Remote Sites - Vista and FrontPage 2003 Since upgrading to Vista, I have an interesting problem when editing a site remotely, as opposed to locally. While logged into, and updating, the site remotely, if I go to the menu and "Insert > Picture" or "Insert > File" the resulting pop-up dialog box will open up for browsing your local machine, but WILL NOT allow you to browse the directory structure on the remote server, where you are working.     - Problems creating user accounts in Frontpage 2003 I'm trying to set up a sub-domain on my website with separate permissions, but whenever I try to add a user to the account I get a message that says "The maximum number of user accounts for this virtual server has been reached" and it goes on to say that the quota needs to be increased.     - How do I add a new top level home/topage/index.htm in Frontpage 2000? I've got a website that was developed by others. It's done in Frontpage 2000 and I have 2000 installed and the website on my C: drive. I also have a test location where I can publish the page to see the effects of my changes. It appears they used navigation bar (on the left site). Pretty simple, just a bunch of buttons displaying pages with pictures and text. I need to add a new top level page to the site for an upcoming promotion. The page will be simple, a few pictures and text and a button that will then enter into the main site. How do I do this in FP2000? I've tried Navigation and "new top page" but it puts the top page next to the existing page but I really want it on top.     - Publish transfer rate question This may not be an FP issue. I run FP2003 on Windows XP. I have a hiking website that is picture intensive. Whenever I publish a hiking trip report, I upload (publish) 40-50 pictures at a time. I notice that the initial transfer rate is around 5 KB/s and then slowly increases in the next couple of minutes to around 50 KB/s. Everything works great except on my custom confirmation page where Yes/No questions appear as True/False.     - PRoblem showing a looping video I have read several of the posts on videos in websites. However, I still have a problem understanding why a simple video will not work in a website. I have a couple of short videos that I would like to have on my website and set so when the visitor clicks on the video starts and loops just as a slideshow automatically starts when the visitor clicks on.     - trouble uploading videos with Frontpage I edit the majority of my website with frontpage 2003 and I am trying to upload several vidoes to my site using frontpage. I am getting what I think is an unusual error when I am trying to upload using the File-Import command. The filetypes are .wmv files and I am using xp pro as my op sys. The error reads like this " Server error: Video/#07_new.wmv does not refer to a page or folder in this web. It may be a page or folder in a subweb, or it could be a badly formed URL." Video is the folder I am trying to upload the file into. The file sizes are 2.7 to 3.2 meg files...not all that large. I have always uploaded these fles with fp 2003 so this is a little bewildering?     - Deleting FrontPage MRU Keys in Registry Windows XP Office 2000 FrontPage 2000 In my FrontPage Publish dialog, I have so many MRUs for locations where I could publish my web, the list is really too long (22) Some of them are up-to-date, but some of them represent backups I have long since deleted from their locations Today I used Microsoft instructions (Article ID : 313454 Last Review : January 31, 2007 Revision : 4.3 to delete the keys for Recent File List Recent Page List Recent Web List from HKEY_Current_User\Software\FrontPage\Explorer\FrontPage Explorer After restarting my computer, I go back to the Publish dialog, to see if they are gone. It has removed only 2 out of 22. Each time I return to the registry, there are usually 2 more MRUs for each list. Not sure if they find some more MRUs (under the same keys) each time, but the first time it happened, I deleted those, also. One thing I see in the registry immediately under those lists that was not noted in the Microsoft Instructions for removing MRUs from FrontPage 2000 (Windows XP) is another list under key called Recently Created Servers. Can I delete that key also? It reads almost identical to the list of at least half the locations that show up in my Publish dialog.     - Database Interface Wizard-No Database editor page or submission fo In FronPage 2003 SP2 I have built a web site that contains about 15 sub webs that connect to my SQL server and displays SQL views. I am using the Database Interface Wizard to create another connection to a SQL view that need the users to be able to update the information and submit new information. This view contains only one table. The permissions on the view and the table are to allow select and update (no delete). When I use the wizard I go through all the steps with no problem until the last page where the only page that it will create is the results page. The options for the submission form and database editor are grayed out and not available. I used this feature before in this same web site. Why is it not available anymore? and how do I get it back?     - What Happened To My Code? I use FP2000 to manage a few sites. I would appreciate someone taking a look at http://www.saintpaulsumc.com/, then "View Source", and tell me what the $&*#$8# is going on at the end of the code. This garbage appears to be present on every page within this site. None of this is present in the files on my hard drive, or when I use the browser to view the website on my hard drive. If I delete the web pages on the server and then upload them again, this phantom coding immediately returns. This is the only site I have on this server, so I cannot compare it with anything else on the same server. I checked files on other servers, and they do not have this garbage.     - Redirect from submit to new URL? Hi ... I have a brief form set up with input areas for name and email. When "submit" is clicked, I need it to redirect to a new URL (within the same window). I have done this many times with a redirect to a Thank You page on the same website and never had a problem. Here, though, it goes to an error page and on refresh, an error message comes up that says: "No variables sent to form".     - HELP! HD Crash; Found FP ugrade CD; can't find original; How to My laptop system disk crashed and will have to be sent out for an expensive recovery... I've used FP for years through many versions... I've scrambled around for disk to install it on another computer as I have a project that must get done this weekend... but I can only find the last upgrade CD. I searched for a way to contact Microsoft as I'm quite sure I registered my copy way back... But calling MS looks like an impossible task...
