I have two questions I need help with.
We have been recording some training sessions and would now like to post
them on our site. What I have been doing is just importing the file into our
site and doing a link back to the file for people to click on to watch the
video.
Is that the correct way to do this? I have read a couple of posts that talk
about using the insert>picture>video to bring the file in.?

Also the recorded sessions are about 2 hours long from the original file.
The file size is huge! What I have been doing is editing the file with Movie
Maker and publishing the file back out to my PC and then import it to our
site. The file size is ends up being about 512MB. Too big! My original file
size is about 110MB so I am not sure why my edited file is larger?
Does anyone know if some software that I can purchase that would compress
this edited file down to a reasonable size easily?

Thanks.
Shane.

For files that size you need either a streaming server host or conversion to streaming flash (flv)

Is there a way I can comress the file to make it smaller?
We will be doing this alot so even if I need to purchase a program it may be
worth it.

Thanks

In WMM, you should be able to change the destination type to some sort of
web server.

MicroSoft also has a free program called Windows Media Encoder, which can
convert and change compression structures
The MS Expression Suite contains Expression Web (a replacement for FP) and
Expression Studio which may be a good tool for you

Thanks for this.
I have been checking this tool out and I think I will go ahead and get it.
Looks like it will work well.
Will I be able to put a link on a page that users can click on and have the
video open is a new window? Or does it have to play inside the page you put
the video on?

Thanks again.
Shane.
