    - Trouble publishing from Web to my hard drive hi to all My web hoster made some changes to my web site that I now want to publish from the web to my own hard drive. I am using FP2000. From FP, I click File/Open Web, then enter http://www.example.com. My site opens in FP as expected. Then I click File/Publish Web, and type in the location of my web folder. When I click OK, I always get the following error message: The folder "C:\Documents ans Settings\My Documents\My Webs" is contained by a server-based Web. To access this Web you must use the http:// url for the web server. I'm kind of new to this, so could someone explain how I should proceed.     - Publishing a Web I got instructions from this newsgroup on how to move my web from my web site back to my computer. I'm using rontpage 2002 running on a new machine under Vista and I lost the web when I moved to a new machine. After making a new folder, I opened FP, hit open a web, then entered the web address and pulled up the web from the internet. I then hit Publish Web and tried to publish it to the new folder.     - Trying to access my website on the internet now asks for a passwor Using Frontpage 2002, when I try to view my web site (www.tricklering.com) on the internet, I am now asked to log in with a password. The password box that pops up is the same box that pops up when I publish my new web pages through Frontpage. The "User Name" box is the same as my Network Solutions server name, but a different "User Name" shows up on another computer when trying to access the site from it.     - flash video wont display on 1 page I have a video that I am trying to put on the home page of my website. I converted it from AVI to FLV. I got a program that will take teh FLV file, and then spit out teh code for me for the player interface etc.. (works great I might add) Anyway, so I put the code for teh video (and I uploaded teh video file) on my home page. It does not display, it only shows a black box where teh video should be.     - Front Page Extensions Installed Cannot Log In Cavtel I am trying to publish a site http://www.snacktimeservice.com I can FTP to the site, but cannot log in using FrontPage or SharePoint Services. The site is hosted by cavtel.net and I have been on the phone with them for weeks and they promise that the Front Page extensions are installed - even to the point where they uninstalled the extensions and re-installed them.     - Navigation bar options disappearing Ok, I designed a page in Yahoo Site Builder (dumb, I know) then transfered it to FP 2002, with a few problems of course. My site uploads and all of the hyperlinks work fine, but once I move over them with the cursor, the words disappear and a little "jpeg" type of symbol appears in the upper left corner where the link was. By clicking on each hyperlink and selecting "Cell Properties" I can select the same image to appear in the background, but even then the word for the hyperlink is visible but has they little symbol over it.     - Stuck icon I have been working with FrontPage since 2000 when that edition first came out. But I have never run into this problem and cannot figure out how to fix it.     - forms confirmation page I have all my forms working great ( thanks to all you guys) except for one small problem. I created a thank you page as a confirmation page but when ever the form is submitted the confirmation page opens in the middle of the page instead of at the top of the page. Since the only thing on the page is a header and the thank you text, the page generally looks like a blank white page to the user.     - Track changes Once again Microsoft fails. Somehow Track Changes became activated on my document (I never went NEAR the menu button) and even after I TURN IT OFF the document STILL shows the changes in red.     - Matching width of pages and shared borders I have a website with only a few pages (www.tricklering.com) and they all share top and bottom borders. When i publish the site then view it, the "shared borders" are centered fine and fit on computer screens but the "pages" are all just a bit too wide to fit, requiring a user to use the left and right arrows to view what is out of sight. How do i get the pages to match the width of the shared borders?     - Results Page Error I am not getting anyone to help me. Let me clarify, I have Frontpage on an old machine and updated the database through frontpage. I copied the form page, db page, and global.asa page. I changed the code in the results page. But that is when I am getting the error. It starts to list the results, but stops about a third of the way down the page and says there is an error. 1. Is there any advantage in using the latest version of Front Page (I guess
2003)?
2, If I had Front Page, could I copy all my work in Publisher to Front Page?
Or would I have to start all over with Web site design?

Yes.

No.
Absolutely not.
Web pages created with publisher are totally incompatible with FrontPage.
You would need to start over with FrontPage, or Expression Web, or SharePoint designer
which replace FrontPage.
