Get the following error, each time I publish my site using Front Page: The
server sent a response which FrontPage could not parse. If you are trying to
connect to a FrontPage Server, check with the server's administrator to make
sure the FrontPage Server Extensions are installed properly.

This error began showing, a few weeks ago. Host unable to solve, as implied
it should, but trying hard.

Host reset FP extensions. I re-installed FP, tried with firewall off and
several other intuitive ways to solve problem. Nothing solved problem.

Am using XP Pro, FP 2003.

Help and thanks!

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with Expression Web and
SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

See if it helps.

Hi Kathleen,

Running firewall and anti-virus from sympatico/bell, my dsl provider. No
noticed problems in 2.5 years.

New factoid: I maintain a small web-presence site, for a friend, on another
host. My main site, where the FP problem occurs, is NetNation. There's no
problem using the same copy of FP to publish to the "other" site. Might this
tend to confirm the problem resides on NetNation?

Thanks. Your help is much appreciated.

Hi Kathleen,

Do these products, the firewall and anti-virus, have names: Sympatico. See
screen shot at http://grubstreet.ca/firewallname.htm

Site that doesn't work: http://grubstreet.ca

Site where FP works, http://rpmmusicweekly.com

Thanks a bunch.

I'm not sure what the issue is. I opened both pages in FrontPage and was
prompted for a username and password. Try adding: http://grubstreet.ca to
your listed of Trusted sites in IE:

Hi Kathleen,

Unfortunately, adding the website to the trust list didn't help, and I still
get the parsing error. Thanks for your suggestions.
