    - forms confirmation page I have all my forms working great ( thanks to all you guys) except for one small problem. I created a thank you page as a confirmation page but when ever the form is submitted the confirmation page opens in the middle of the page instead of at the top of the page. Since the only thing on the page is a header and the thank you text, the page generally looks like a blank white page to the user.     - Cascading drop down boxes I would like to create 3 drop down boxes which do the following: - The first box looks against a field from a Data Source in Sharepoint. - Based on what is selected in the first box, the second box shows another field from the Data Source but based on the flter by the first box. - The third box shows another field from the Data Source but based on the flter by the second box.     - Track changes Once again Microsoft fails. Somehow Track Changes became activated on my document (I never went NEAR the menu button) and even after I TURN IT OFF the document STILL shows the changes in red. You need to TURN ON Track Changes again, ACCEPT the freaking changes then TURN OFF Track Changes to remove them.     - Adding layout cells to a webpage I am new to FrontPage. When I draw a layout cell on a webpage I am working on, FrontPage is actually adding a grid of nine blocks (it looks like a tic tac toe board). The grid is the color of the border I have put on the perimeter of the format table. Is there a setting I have missed?     - Hidden Web Server Files Hidden folders were used when a website I maintain was created. For example, _content or _auxillary. I had to reinstall Frontpage and create the website on my drive again, and I can't remember how to get those hidden webserver folders to show up!     - Matching width of pages and shared borders I have a website with only a few pages (www.tricklering.com) and they all share top and bottom borders. When i publish the site then view it, the "shared borders" are centered fine and fit on computer screens but the "pages" are all just a bit too wide to fit, requiring a user to use the left and right arrows to view what is out of sight. How do i get the pages to match the width of the shared borders?     - Results Page Error I am not getting anyone to help me. Let me clarify, I have Frontpage on an old machine and updated the database through frontpage. I copied the form page, db page, and global.asa page. I changed the code in the results page. But that is when I am getting the error. It starts to list the results, but stops about a third of the way down the page and says there is an error.     - FrontPage problems - help FrontPage problems Hello: I'm beginning to have a great number of problems publishing with FrontPage. I have several websites, but the hosting services seem to be implying that FrontPage is no longer being supported by Microsoft. I am having problems with password protect, and simply canNOT publish one site. PowWeb seems to have only excuses and each time they must reinstall FrontPage Extensions. Upon doing so I lose password protection. But of late I cannot even publish! Unix servers seem to have problems with FrontPage, although I have several sites published with FrontPage. But, after reading some of their "disclaimers," I'm wondering if they really support FrontPage any longer? I noticed that Microsoft has a couple of pieces of software which may be replacements for FrontPage? Is that true? If so, is FrontPage basically no longer supported? I have FrontPage2003. I thought I had a good product, but now I'm wondering if I have a "white elephant?" If FrontPage is on the way out, or no longer really supported, what are my alternatives? I use FrontPage, FrontPage Extensions and I believe SharePoint. I noticed there is something called Microsoft Expression Web. Is that an upgrade and the path I must follow? If so, is it a simple upgrade and fully supportive of FrontPage 2003? And, what about Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer? Is this the avenue I must follow, etc.? I really need help.     - Results Page Error - Please Help I updated a frontpage registration form and database connections through the backside code because my new machine doesn't have the program. Through this I added two new fields to my form. My form updates the database, but when I try to view the results page, I get this error: ADODB.Recordset error '800aOcc1' Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding tot he requested name or ordinal. /_fpclass/fpdblib.inc,line 12 So, I went to the _fpclass/fpdblib.inc file and tried to decipher the code.     - Yahoo deleted all my files. I had been working in their servers and they have since deleted all my files. I can see the files when I open FrontPage in my home computer and need to try and start a new program and have them to a disk format first, then I can publish to other servers.     - Publish after hard drive crash Hi, My system - Frontpage 2000 Windows XP Prof I've been using fp for 5+ years but never had this issue. My hard drive crashed and until I get it fixed, I re-installed FP on a spare computer, downloaded my site and everything's good but...everytime I publish, FP wants to upload every single file even though I check the "changes only" box. (sorry if the english is not too good â?? sono Italiano) I am "not" an expert with fronpage so you if there is anything you don't understand (or I have got wrong) about the frontpage "bit" - post a question and one of the experts may answer. When you create a asp form in FP and ask the programme to save to database it will create an access database and (normally) a table called â??Resultsâ?? FP is â??notâ?? part of MS office so the data stored in the table (anything that a user inputs onto a form) is not much use unless 1 You want to use this data to upgrade to functions of the on-line database 2 You want to use the data for something else (ie use the data "off-line") Note that (as I said) FP is not part of office so you will need some codeing to do this. This is one way to do it â?? there are a few others but they need a little more practice with the access DB programme and are a â??littleâ?? bit more complex. So I will assume you have a form which saves data to an online Access Database (this is the â??Externalâ?? database â?? as the data is not stored on your hard drive). I will assume you have another database (on a hard drive) where you want the results of the on-line form to be (eventually) â?? this is the â??internalâ?? database. So. To import data from a table in an external database into (append) to a table in your internal database. The â??cheatsâ?? I have given here you can either or not â?? I use them as Iâ??m lazy and â?? in this case â?? the end justifies the means (especially when the means are delete after the end is accomplished?) _______________________________________ _______________________________________ _______________________________________ Oh â?? before you start â?? I would â??stronglyâ?? suggest that you make a sample form on a website and use this to practice on â??1stâ?? â?? up to you but it would be a shame to lose â??realâ?? data that someone had put onto a online form. _______________________________________ _______________________________________ _______________________________________ Next â?? before you start â?? import the on-line DB. Open FP and log in, then click the FPDB, then the DB, then the blue arrow. __________ Names â?? In this I have usedâ?¦. External Database - This is where the records are now (from the online form input) The records are in a table called results Internal Database - This is where I want them to be tblInternalNewRecords - This the table in Internal Database where I want the records go ----------------------------------------- 1 This is the 1st cheat â?? go to External Database and copy the table (Results) containing the data you want to bring in. 2 Go to Internal Database and paste the table (structure only). Call it tblImportAppend 3 Past the same table again (structure only) Call it tblInternalNewRecords So you now have 2 empty copies of the table results (but in your Intenal Database) with new names. 4 Create a new query in your internal database (call it qryImportAppend). Base this new query on tblImportAppend. Individually click each of the fields so they all shown in the design grid. 5 Change the query to an Append Query. In the drop down list select tblInternalNewRecords. If you have copied the tables correctly the fields in the â??Append Toâ?? row will fill in automatically. (You can change these update to fields) 6 Create a new form in Internal Database. 7 Create a new button (call it cboImport) 8 Put this code on the OnClick event Private Sub cboImport _Click() Dim WayneIMPfile As TableDef For Each WayneIMPfile In CurrentDb.TableDefs If WayneIMPfile.Name = "tblImportAppend " Then CurrentDb.TableDefs.Delete WayneIMPfile.Name End If Next DoCmd.TransferDatabase acImport, "Microsoft Access", "Path to ExternalDatabase.mdb", acTable, " results ", " tblImportAppend " DoCmd.SetWarnings False DoCmd.OpenQuery " qryImportAppend " DoCmd.SetWarnings True CurrentDb.TableDefs.Delete "tblImportAppend" End Sub Notes on this code 1 Change the names to whatever you want. - I wouldnâ??t have WayneIMPFile â?? unless â?¦. :-) 2 The 1st section just looks for and deletes tblImportAppend if itâ??s there 3 The next bit DoCmd.TransferDatabase is a standard way to bring in tables to a DB (press F1 in Access for more information) 4 The path to the MDB can be found by (another cheat). Browse - Navigate to DB - Select open - Cut the path from the run box and paste into code - Close run 5 Turn of warning 6 DoCmd.OpenQuery Runs the append query 7 Turn the warnings back on 8 Delete the table the code created (tblImportAppend) 9 End Sub â?? go and have a coffee Note â?? if you look at the design of the Append Query it will look wrong - as there is no table to base it on. Donâ??t worry this is normal. The code will create the table, run the query then delete the table again (I tend to do this as itâ??s just extra disk space). Of course you can append the data to other tables and you donâ??t need to append all fields. If you play around with the code and the Append you will get it to do want you need. I use this method quite often and have the validation process in the append query â?? is text formatted correctly, are numbers right, are postcodes/zipcodes formated so the post office will accept them, etc, etc. But the most important validation I use is not importing records that are already in the table. You can use a time/date stamp (field) in the external table and in the append simple put something like >[TimeDateField] in the criteria row.     - Date Formatting I am attempting to output a date from an access database. It is stored on the access database in the format dd/mm/yyyy in a field called [dateissue]. In the asp I have custom changed to SELECT * , format (dateissue,'ddd mmm dd yyyy') AS dateissue2 FROM clientbadge W HERE (ID = ::ID::) I would like dateissue2 displayed as "ddd mmm dd yyyy".     - office 2007 and Frontpage 2000 I've had to get rid of Office 2000 because my version of Word was 'broken'. I've uninstalled it all and replaced it with the home edition of 2007. However, I would like to continue to use Frontpage 2000.     - Form clears when going"back" after failed validation Hello, I am using FrontPage 2003 and use the form handler to email me the results of the information entered into the form. I use validation on most fields and use the "failed validation page" if all information does not meet the criteria. That all works fine. My problem is that when a person inputs such data that fails validation, my site takes them to the "failed validation" page. Fine. But if the user click back to fix the error of his ways - all of their data entered is gone. Since it is a lengthy process for the user to enter his/her data, the user gets frustrated and enters again, or just forgets it. THen they really get upset if they make another mistake and they have to come back to yet another "cleared" form to start over. Is there any way to keep the form from resetting after going to the "Failed validation" page then coming back? I have read to eliminate the "failed validation" page and use the FP default, however, the form still clears. I also read to open the form in a new window, that does not help. I am computer literate but cannot program in any web language - my reason for using FP2003. SO hopefully, any friendly advice would be within the constraints of what I can point and click in frontpage. In other words, a suggestion of HTML code wouldn't do me any good, although appreciated.     - Having a picture dissolve or fade into another I am using FP2002 but not very proficient as yet. I would like to have 4-5 jpeg pictures in a web header dissolve or fade into each other. Either have one picture fade to another or have 2 or 3 pix along the top fade into 2 or 3 other pictures. Is it possible with FP? How would I do this? When I edit my website with Frontpage and publish it, it appears that it's
publishing it to the WWW but when I check the website the changes aren't
there. It has worked fine in the past.

Any ideas?

Ensure you're looking at a "fresh" version of your web page, not a cached
version. Hold the Ctrl key and click refresh.

By chance do you use AOL?
If so, AOL caches pages on their servers and it takes a while
for the new page to be cached.
