I have a number of .ims files on my website. When I download them they
download as html files!!! It is not my caused by my server. How can I
download my ims files.
The page in my website is
http://thevillagerose.com/incredisite/skins/critters.htm
when I click on an image on that page I get an html file.

I get a 404 - Page not found error.

If this is the HTML page you mention, then the cure is to add a mime
type to the server for .ims files. Without a mime type for the
extension the server will always deliver a 404 error instead of the
file.

Alternatively, place the .ims files in a .zip container, and link to the
.zip file.

oops, you caught my page before I finished working on it.
I moved all my .ims files in to a separate file named IMS.
and re linked them. This didn't help I still get the printed garbage. Would
you check it now please

Visitors to your site will need the application or a reader that understand the .ims file format. If
these are image files, then they need to be save as .jpg images from within the application that
created the .ims files.

The images on my page are hyperlinked to an .ims file. When the image is
clicked on the .ims file does not download. I assume the problem is that the
hyperlinks are not working. I have other files that are linked to .imf files
and they work fine. Why wont the links to the ims files not work?

I have been working on this page and it should open for you

I have talked with my server people and they tell me that my .ims files
should download, that it is not a problem from their end.
